Agreed. I’ve got a place near me and it’s your typical and local takeaway place that dabbles in pizza, kebab, wraps, chips, wedges, burgers and whatever else and their burgers/pizzas are really nice. I then see someone settle for something like what Danny got from this trash dump and I’m sat there thinking “what why”.

There are some amazing restaurants in the strangest places. I ate at a small pub in South Ayrshire and it was like a Michelin star restaurant. Sorry about that Danny.

This is the only time I've seen Danny give a bad review, but looking at all the dry undercooked food I don't blame him. They threw a fucking raw beef burger into a fryer. The place should honestly be shut down for doing that. If you're gonna have a box of fried food, even if it was better quality and actually cooked, you'd expect some sauce to go with it. Fried food from a cheap takeaway is always going to be dry and fairly tasteless, I couldn't eat any of that without eat least ketchup.
Danny is a top bloke. He feels bad marking places down and before now the lowest mark I've seen is 6. Most places get an 8 or 9. The fact he gave this place a 1 speaks volumes.
A friend in Scotland introduced me to the munchie box about 10 years ago. We ordered one for a laugh. It was much better than the one here. Edible food with more variety. Unhealthy of course. I didn't think these were designed for families but for drunk people in the middle of the night.

You can do this yourself if you want at home by any means, but it looks really weird for a professional restaurant to do this. Why can't they just buy a glass container to keep it in so then no plastic is being used? Lol
Next time your in Scotland, try out our local Indian, in Leuchars Fife, it's called New Delight, they do a great Munchy Box, 10" or 12" pizza box stuffed with Chips, Donner Meat, Veg and Chicken Pakoras, Chicken Tikka, salad, garlic mayo, and a spicy dipping sauce, also not a bad Indian takeaway. We also have a great chippy in Guard bridge just down the road, called DaLi's they are V good, and do great pizzas. you could also pop into St Andrews, to do a few reviews there, as there are plenty of good places to eat there. All this in North East Fife.
So bossman is still hungry. The food must be really off putting for him not to eat the food. I will be surprised if this place is still open in six months time.

I was truly shocked by what you experienced at ‘East West’ takeaway- I’ve never seen such a sea of beige as that tray of food that was foisted on you! I agree with your rating - 1 maybe 2 at best, just cos of the Irn Bru. Anyway, this Edinburgh Chippie, it’s called L’Alba D’Oro- Fabulously done fish! Ask for the Haddock Supper (Fish n Chips). Pizzas are also great- they are Italians so they damn good at this- The Fiorentino, if memory serves me right, was brilliant and well tasty!!! Get the battered mushrooms as well as the deep-fried Mars bar!!! I tell you, you won’t want for much more! It’s not super cheap but the old saying is true here, you get what you pay for! Let me know if you think it’s worth coming up for again! There are quite few other nice takeaways in Edinburgh like Indian, Chinese and especially Italian. Italian family chippies seem to make the best FIsh and Chips, (FACs)! I’ve been all over UK with my job and I always make a point of trying the FAC in each town. A decent quality deep fryer big enough for a quarter of a regular sized good quality oven pizza or half a mini one that pays itself back in superior pizza crunches and in how much money you save overall compared to ordering in is only about £30.
I am not a food expert, but as soon as I saw that in the box, I just thought this does not look right. Just seems like they just use this awful batter mix and place Raw uncooked food mix it throw in fryer and once the outside is cooked then they serve it, absolutely rank.

then again, being able to get a kebab with fish and chips is very convenient. I found a few kebab shops that are better than chippies. Fish just excellent, chips, everything. All comes down to the people running the place and whether they care or not.
This is shocking, there are some fantastic takeaways in Greenock he could have tried. The best ice cream I've ever had is at the West Station cafe Greenock.

I really like Danny's sincerity and honesty in his reviews. I'd eat anywhere that he rates as having excellent food, and avoid anywhere that he says isn't providing good food. Massive thumbs up and kudos to the cameraman, who I think always does an excellent job of providing fantastic photography and editing of the work.
We call that pond the Murdieston Dam lol. I've never had a pizza crunch but Ive had the deep fried pizza minus the batter many times and love it. Not had anything from this particular takeaway. The burger inside may not have looked the best and a deep fried pizza is a cheap pizza. But I think it's just a Scottish thing that we are used to all that up here. We like to deep fry everything lol even the Mars Bars.

A decent quality deep fryer big enough for a quarter of a regular sized good quality oven pizza or half a mini one that pays itself back in superior pizza crunches and in how much money you save overall compared to ordering in is only about £30.

I am not a food expert, but as soon as I saw that in the box, I just thought this does not look right. Just seems like they just use this awful batter mix and place Raw uncooked food mix it throw in fryer and once the outside is cooked then they serve it, absolutely rank.

I really like Danny's sincerity and honesty in his reviews. I'd eat anywhere that he rates as having excellent food, and avoid anywhere that he says isn't providing good food. Massive thumbs up and kudos to the cameraman, who I think always does an excellent job of providing fantastic photography and editing of the work.
We call that pond the Murdieston Dam lol. I've never had a pizza crunch but Ive had the deep fried pizza minus the batter many times and love it. Not had anything from this particular takeaway. The burger inside may not have looked the best and a deep fried pizza is a cheap pizza. But I think it's just a Scottish thing that we are used to all that up here. We like to deep fry everything lol even the Mars Bars.
