That would have been icing on the cake to see a rainbow but there was another storm rolling in it seemed so we probably would have had to stay longer to se one.
Thank you for making a point about the permits for Desolation Wilderness! Also, for those thinking of going to Eagle Lake and Emerald Bay, it gets really hard to find parking by 9am and doesn't let up till after 4pm. So, Go Early or Go Late and don't forget your outdoor essentials.
I have been in Lake Tahoe, but never in Eagle Lake. Looks beautiful. Definitely in my bucket list of lakes to explore. Thanks for such an awesome video.
I was just at Eagle Lake with my wife and 6 month old daughter on Friday and yes it's a very family friendly hike! Super easy since the lake is only a few miles off Highway 89. But wow the parking is really a nightmare if you dont get there early.
Caught in the same freak hailstorm, lol. BTW, thanks for the recommendation -- hit Eagle Lake on Monday and it was gorgeous. Although short, definitely not a hike for beginners!
Great video I live in Glenbrook Nevada it sure is nice to see a young couple enjoying the great outdoors and shinning a spotlight such a beautiful place...Awesome job...thx Todd
Looks like an amazing hike! We just got hit by a crazy hail storm at Diamond Lake in Oregon - it took us by complete surprise, but we had our trailer to hide in. Living in SoCal we just don’t get hailed on very often. So fun though!
AWESOME, Missed this when posted, just watched the Mt Tallac video! 2 hikes very close together. Will do the short runs on each as both look spectacular!
I did Cascade falls recently. Its a similar hike with all the rocks. Got stung by a wasp or bee. They are very bad in the Tahoe area this year. I got stung again while camping.
Another great video! Always very informative. We’re making an effort to travel more within California (we live in Sacramento) instead of flying to far away places. There’s so much to see here out west. Thank you for showing all of these cool places to visit. Maybe we’ll make the 2 hour drive to the Eagle Lake hike this weekend!
It is crazy how many amazing things there are to do in California. I love traveling outside the state as well but we are certainly pretty blessed here. Get there early on the weekends parking near Emerald Bay always fills fast.
Yeah, I prefer to go to Tahoe on weekdays. We drove up for ice cream (delicious and highly recommended) at Fallen Leaf Lake a few weeks ago on a Sunday. The traffic was crazy as usual. There’s still so much around Tahoe that I haven’t experienced.
@@californiathroughmylens weather in Texas is unpredictable. I've seen hail on a sunny day in Austin, TX. I'd love to be in touch. You seem like a cool guy. Hit me up Instagram @johar_ali_photography
I'm curious about the Escondido Falls trail in Malibu in the Santa Monica Mountains. I've made it to the first waterfall but read somewhere that there are two others but getting to them is difficult. Anyone have any info on that? Edit Found what I was looking for. California Through My Lense is the best.
It's been a while since I did that hike but I have gone to the upper falls both times. It can be a little sketchy though and I wouldn't recommend after a hard rain as the trail to the upper falls may wash out.
@@californiathroughmylens The first time I went was this past father's day with my kids. (Boy and girl. 11 & 10 respectively) I didn't trust going past the first falls with them. I'll probably go this weekend without them so I can see the upper falls. Thanks. Since I've subscribed this has been one of my favorite channels. My list of things to do is getting long. Lol.
Snowshoeing is a lot of fun Nathan. The really good hike nearby is to hike out to Round Lake from the Big Meadows trailhead when there's snow on the ground it's gorgeous.
Excellent tour guiding for the interest and wonder of nature's beautiful wilderness. Please, fill out permits just incase you get eaten by a bear, mountain lion, coyotes, bitten by a rattle snake, hurt, frost bitten, hypothermic, or lost hiking, so that, the search and rescue team know to find you. Got it? It takes one minute to do, so DO IT. Also, NEVER hike alone..."Doggos" don't count as "humans" in this instance.
Havent been to Lake Tahoe since 1969 when I was stationed in Fallon Nevada. Great video. Thanks
No problem, I wish I got up there more as it is an amazing area.
What a lucky day for you to catch the rain and hail at the same time!
I can't complain it was pretty cool!
So beautiful; especially with the video of the rain and hail.
Great timing with the rain and hail, makes for a more interesting outing. Love the Lake Tahoe area. One of the most beautiful places on earth.
I agree, it made it a more unique video for sure. I also agree that Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places on Earth as well.
I love the combination of rain and sunshine. I'm surprised you didn't see a rainbow. Cool area. Great video.
That would have been icing on the cake to see a rainbow but there was another storm rolling in it seemed so we probably would have had to stay longer to se one.
That place is gorgeous and what amazing footage you got with the sun & the rain together.
Thanks for the comment, I agree the rain made the video pretty epic
Very cool eagle lake I've been there in July ... Cool spot to visit...enjoyed there ..thanks for recalling this place.

I agree, it was so pretty to see falling on the lake!

It was really refreshing!
The hail is cool and the forest beautiful
You seem to time the weather so perfect...hail in Tahoe, snow in Joshua Tree!!
It has been a pretty crazy weather year for me!
Thank you for sharing this video. Drove thru this area in July and it is beautiful.
It really is a beautiful area. I wish I got a chance to spend more time there.
Josh with the Gems !! Definitely doing this trail when i go next year ! Hailstorm was epic !!

I was there over the summer! Fell in love 😍
Just went there last weekend. Eagle Lake is amazing, but the Eagle Fall, mmm... Will check it out again next year when there are more water.
Thanks
Great video, Josh! Coincidentally, my wife and I completed the Eagle Falls hike six years to the day you posted your video.
That's awesome! Hopefully it didn't hail on you when you went hahs

Last time I went to Lake Tahoe was 1983 On a ski trip for New Year’s wasn’t perfect but it was a lot of fun thank you for the great video
Stunning scenery 👌would love to try that hike 👍
It's a great hike for sure and not very long
I like this YOUTube "show & tell" very much.
Happy smile at the end is nice, too.

Thx for the heads up!👍👊✌
I went to eagles falls this Saturday
I did Cascade falls recently. Its a similar hike with all the rocks. Got stung by a wasp or bee. They are very bad in the Tahoe area this year. I got stung again while camping.
Awesome video, that looks like a great hike! How long was it from the bridge to the lake?
Another nice video, sir!
Thank you!
Love this place 💋
Your video are amazing!!!!
Nice video, South Lake Tahoe is an awesome place, the landscape is beautiful. If I ever win the lottery, I will move there.
I agree, I would love to win the lottery and move there as well

Great video, Thanks. What month was this filmed?
This was filmed last Tuesday (so the end of August)
I thought you were going to talk about Eagle Lake by Susanville/Lassen. Still a great video.
I have never been to that one, I will have to look it up
Go to star lake! 🙌
how far is this waterfall from eagle point campground?! thank you
How was the waterfall? I live in Reno and did this hike last July and the waterfall was finished
I didn't go down to lower Eagle Falls, just to the one in the video but it was pretty nice still so I imagine lower would be as well.
you missed out this year they were amazing. big winters give big falls. :D Maybe this next spring take a trip up to check out the falls.
👏👏👏👏 bravo ,bravo ,buenísimo,as alway.
Thank you!
Hey, did you go three days ago? We are heading there in about a month.
Mornings are better than afternoons or evening.
"It's sunny and raining" you sir clearly don't live in Texas. Your content made my Lake Tahoe trip possible. Thank you!
haha, I do not. Does it rain with the sun there often? Glad my videos were helpful!

Very Squatchy!
i was supposed to go here yesterday, but we cancelled plans because of the COVID. :(
Can you hike in winter with all that snow?
Snowshoeing is a lot of fun Nathan. The really good hike nearby is to hike out to Round Lake from the Big Meadows trailhead when there's snow on the ground it's gorgeous.
I’m late lol
Still, I gotta comment...
Great video, of course!! 👍🏼👏🏼
too short Josh !!!!! Looked amazing though
haha, I tried to make it as long as I could for a 2 mile round trip hike haha
My backyard not too bad
캘리포니아 자연환경이 완전 쥑이네요^^
Great place to hike but be careful. A woman died @ the falls this past June taking a selfie.
Thanks for the comment! I think that was Lower Eagle falls which doesn't have a railing or bridge like the upper one does

Seren
Are there restrooms along the way? I want to bring kids
My first thought Jen great question.
Leave Tahoe alone. Don’t bring more tourism dude
