Fair. But G League is a different animal. Santos at a bare minimum contributes at a positional need, and hustles. Vs Buddy lol who is way streakier and doesn't contribute much otherwise besides a couple deflections
Lol these two played too good, they're getting benched just for the lols because Kerr thinks Podz, Moody and GPII are better frontcourt players 🤣 let's lose Warriors 💪
Well I would agree but Kerr even seems to have realized it. Post was a 5 year college player! For Kerr this matters more than people realize. What it means is post already has foundational knowledge and muscle memory. Basically he’s NBA ready and it’s quite clear to see
When we got off to a 12-3 start, I got really excited about the possibilities for this season. Then, Hield forgot how to shoot, everyone forgot how to shoot freethrows, and our defense went from top 5 to... Whatever it is now. From top seed in the west to end of the play-in as a 500 team barely treading water. Post had one good game. I need to see consistency for this to matter. But it's a nice thought.
I need to see consistent playing time for Post and Gui coz they make sense at their positions not GPII at PF ever again lol how's he supposed to guard the 2nd biggest guy out there when those guys are not only big but they're fast too nowadays. It's piss poor design 😅✌️
post is not gonna be a full time starter or getting heavy minutes most nights. he's still pretty slow footed and WILL get lit up against more atheltic bigs or in the pick and roll. now he can play against slower bigs like he did against vucevic last night. people acting like we just found the new dirk just tells you how pathetic this roster really is and any small positivity we find will immediately be looked at as the solution to the problem. but it just doesn't work like that. the biggest takeaway from last night should be finding a big man that set screens for steph that can actually pop out to shoot or take advantage of an OPEN driving lane. literally everyone who sets screens for steph goes on to have a career night when dray is out. i've seen loon tjd do this and post last night. meanwhile we're still content with draymond's 8 points when he's been setting screens for steph all his career. a capable big man with actual offensive skills with steph and a couple of shooters and this is an all time offense people don't realize that and probably never will because draymond will be here for as long as steph is here.
Buddy forgetting how to shoot is crazy btw, dude really fell off terribly and it ruined the vibe. The defense is actually still top 12 I believe. They just couldn't hit water in the ocean on open threes, and had no alternative ways because Kerr wouldn't put bigs in for "spacing" reasons. But fully agreed, I need to see consistency and not like a Lindy Waters type of scenario lol (which may very well be)
Every time kerr does something right and PLAYS BIG WE PLAY INCREDIBLE.....and then the next 3-4 games he goes right back to small ball/4 guard line ups. Thats why i've always thought kerr is slightly overratted , if your a guard you will love it here, buut he's not great with bigs.
Yes he does for the trollolols let's lose Warriors 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 after seeing this, if Kerr does not start these two for the remainder of the season I'm done watching Warriors until they fix this 😅
"Incredible" is a stretch, but we do play well, and at least can slow the other team down defensively even if our offense has been limited with shots not going in. But at the bare minimum like I said, it's SIZE
I think ..Kerr is the problem and not the Players .. Those small ball line up was effective before ..due to Klay and Poole who were killing outside shot .
What talent? Santos and Post? They're promising, but one or two good games against mediocre opponents means what? Hope? How'd things work out for you against a real team like the Celtics (who aren't even playing that well). Also, to those saying to trade Draymond---if you're going to do that, then trade Curry, too. Guy doesn't deserve to be on rebuilding team after bringing you terrible fans 4 championships and the #1 valued NBA team. The amount of entitlement from this fanbase is awful. Enjoy not being truly relevant for 10-15 years after he's gone.
@@calla211 It's actually hope in terms of what Steph wants. He said don't mess up the young guys, so seeing Gui and Post become promising too means some hope for the future of the team.
I think it's more how Waters had like two good games and all of a sudden he was the starter. Whereas Gui (and Post probably) will likely be back on the bench with few minutes in favor of....small guards
The thing with Santos is that he can actually hit multiple 3s if given the space and green light. Now, whilst I don't expect him to maintain his current shooting rate of 4/4, 4/5, 4/6 etc... I don't think it actually matters that much. Because once teams start to have to sacrifice a defender to cover him, Steph gets more room and that's never a bad thing. Also, from watching the last few games, he seems to have figured out his positioning better. He moves well without the ball (with room for improvement) again trying to create more room for other players. Having said that, he still over commits and gambles on some balls as a defender and he has to work on his pick and roll IMO. All easy enough skills to develop and that should come with time. All in all, I'd have on the floor for the energy he seems to bring alone! The guy is a floor runner, he rarely gets the ball but he seems to ALWAYS be there just in case. Love the heart. I'll refrain from commenting on Post until I've seen a larger sample but obviously enjoying what I've seen so far.
Thank goodness they finally giving these two minutes. Post is a big who can shoot 3s, rebound and can be a post defender, what they actually need. He fits their system and yet they just keep running that small ball BS that’s everyone has figured out. Santos has good potential, all they need is opportunity.
Gui should be in the NBA years ago but the warriors lock him up in the gleague because they know if he develops he will be an asset, the real surprise here is on how Post and Steph plays like they were teammates for years like Draymond 😂 Whatever happens tomorrow on how he plays against the Lakers i want him in the rotation regularly.
Team still desperately needs a starting SG and I don’t think we should stop chasing after Vuc just because of Post’s emergence - if anything, Post showing just how valuable Vuc could be as an addition.
Yeah but if you heard Kerr's press conference after this game, he said what he was most impressed with QP was how he has developed his defense a bit more in the Gleague. There's alot riding on that game this Saturday. Not only did the warriors lose to the Lakers on Christmas... But the Lakers also HANDLED the Celtics last night... Here we are, getting blown out by 40 by the C's, meanwhile the Lakers out there embarrassing the reigning champs 😭
Problem will be when Dray and Jk comes back Post and Santos wont get any mins and that's sad..need to trade off some guards to free up spots for those young guns! No need for Vuc since Post can be him. Target a defensive big like Williams.
Post can literally score 30pts on just pick & pop plays 😂 This will open driving lanes for Wiggins & JK. Plus Curry will have more open space to operate. This will be a nightmare for the defense.
Yeah, when the honeymoon of Santos and Post finishes, no one will be able to hit shots, so everything will look bad. Stop blaming Kerr for everything. Face it. The roster sucks. Doesn't matter how much lipstick Kerr puts on the pig; it's still a pig. The team is trash. I still like watching them, though.
@ Two things can be true. The roster isn't the best, but there is absolutely no reason in the last two months a team with Steph Curry is blowing multiple double digit leads, barely squeaking by the worst team in the league (the Wizards mind you), so there goes your argument that it's just the roster. I dont think they're near a championship level contention, but they shouldn't be 8 and 20 or whatever over the last two months
IMHO, it's not scoring that's hurting the Dubs...its not keeping those 18 to 25 point leads heading into the 4th Q.....and then ultimately losing the game!!!
To be fair, if you watch the games, they choke the leads because they are heavily reliant on 3 point shooting. Those threes gets you those leads, but once they go on a bad quarter of missed threes, then the other teams come back. The problem is when small guys miss their 3's, they can't play defense on the other end. That's the main difference IMO

Warriors really need a big guy line up. their style of play won't work anymore. other team already know what is their gameplay. And yeah they need to improve their personal skills.
36% 3pt 7ft and 46.7% 3pt 6ft 8 that can play the 3/4 and still not getting minutes? Yeah Steve Kerr needs to go imo and after he goes trade buddy and waters for pics or for a actual shooting guard that is consistent enough to help the warriors out and play these two phenomenal guys
i think steph needs to remind his team mates that he is still there and he is the top dog there at some points it looks like everyone doing there own things other than doing it for the team, example players need to show space or run the legs so others can drive to rim and they are not doing none
This means, Kerr lied about not having a big who can shoot, If Kerr try’s to go back to his three small guard lineup, then he should be fired. We can’t take watching Golden State lose another game because they are too small.
Post and Santos gave warriors fans a lot of hope. then kerr's pride will takeover next game as playing big men will lose their "Identity" 🤦🏻♂️ they have all the pieces if they play them right. they can get 20 plus leads in any team if kerr put some size and nit over extend his players. past few months has been awful to watch with this 3 players below 6'5 and 2 undersized "bigman" playing

@ Exactly. Draymond's value was never scoring. It's defense, leadership, playming, intangibles. Now he has been a fuckin walking technical and flagrant foul POS, but you just can't equate his value to others really. He's unique. Also Moses is not a fuckin 4 no matter what Kerr wants hahhah
@_zookie Oh, I know that Dray brings a higher level of defense than anyone else, but he also misses time for injury, takes games off when he's not injured, & is always on the verge of ejection or suspension. So, how much availability is Dray actually giving you?
@warriorsbreakdown All I'm saying is that there is noticeable decline in Dray's game. Clearly nobody can replicate what Dray brings. That's not my point. I'm simply saying that if there are players who can hold up defensively while giving the team something that Dray can not, AND the floor is more spread and the offense more productive, then somewhere, those conversations are being had....or the might be had soon.
It doesn't matter how many points they make or how good they play, Kerr will favor Podz over Gui and Post. As of the last 2 or 3 seasons, Kerr is the problem. He doesn't know how to develop young players. Kerr is the old fool who's stuck in his ways. Yes, he has 4 coaching championships, but that doesn't mean he's still doing the job correctly or efficiently as of the last 2 seasons. He can't adjust to the changes of the game, and he's forever stuck in his coaching ways
Ker is allergic to young players stepping up. This team had a lot of potential. Not quite contender but definitely not where we are rn but kerr plays favorites over who deserves it
Kerr is good at killing folks careers so would not get any hopes up. Kerr should be fired and give a fresh start to Warriors before curry is done and retires. The way it is going curry will retire soon. Not everyone can play like LeBron
Everytime a player does great on the GSW, it’s because of the absence of a good or star player. Post & Santos were good all along, Kerr only gave them a chance because he had none. If only Kerr was pragmatic enough to give young players a shot, the trade value of those layers would have been higher.
Love how guys who never played any ball think they know what it takes to develop a player and get them ready VS a coach who won multiple championships, practiced and played with the GOAT, and sees the best players in the world week after week. Excuse the pun but keyboard Warriors and it’s embarrassing to read all these comments that criticize when you know absolutely nothing about hoops. I’ve been watching hoops since 1980 and can guarantee I know more than just about 95% of the clowns commenting in here. Just let the pros do their jobs
It's not exactly misleading if Gui Santos WAS in the G League. Yes he isn't now but he literally was on the Santa Cruz Warriors for like two years and assigned there multiple times throughout last season
@ He had a good game against the Bulls, but doesn't take away from him being a backup. Plus minus isn't a direct correlation with how good of a player you actually are haha
Gui is a guy that in the last season was getting used to make 30+pts in Santa Cruz. If Kerr give him confidence and minutes, he can evolve a lot

I still think TJD should start. Post at a minimum gives them another option
@ he should at least get more minutes I would give him more minutes and see how he does, players should be competing for their minutes .
Kerr never learns just fire the guy and still pay him lol
They're paying him $17M a year hahahhahahah it's wild
It doesn't matter how many points they make or how good they play, Kerr will favor Podz over Gui and Post. As of the last 2 or 3 seasons, Kerr is the problem. He doesn't know how to develop young players. Kerr is the old fool who's stuck in his ways. Yes, he has 4 coaching championships, but that doesn't mean he's still doing the job correctly or efficiently as of the last 2 seasons. He can't adjust to the changes of the game, and he's forever stuck in his coaching ways
Podz is so mid lmao
Ker is allergic to young players stepping up. This team had a lot of potential. Not quite contender but definitely not where we are rn but kerr plays favorites over who deserves it
Kerr is good at killing folks careers so would not get any hopes up. Kerr should be fired and give a fresh start to Warriors before curry is done and retires. The way it is going curry will retire soon. Not everyone can play like LeBron
I would disagree. Plenty of players that came to the Dubs and revitalized their career. Otto Porter Jr for example
porque no lo hizo antes
Everytime a player does great on the GSW, it’s because of the absence of a good or star player. Post & Santos were good all along, Kerr only gave them a chance because he had none. If only Kerr was pragmatic enough to give young players a shot, the trade value of those layers would have been higher.
The issue is his leash on players playing bad is soooo long. However if someone is playing well, he pulls them out
Love how guys who never played any ball think they know what it takes to develop a player and get them ready VS a coach who won multiple championships, practiced and played with the GOAT, and sees the best players in the world week after week.
I never want to see Buddy playing again
Hahhaah yeah I want him as a 2nd string option at best
Title is very misleading 😂😂💀 only one player was in the gleague the rookie that’s it santos is no rookie he been on the team for a while now.
It's not exactly misleading if Gui Santos WAS in the G League. Yes he isn't now but he literally was on the Santa Cruz Warriors for like two years and assigned there multiple times throughout last season
They need to send Podz to the G league
Why he played great his fist game back. He changes the defense.
I honestly just think Podz should just be a back up and that's it. G League is a little too much but that's not the WORST decision lmao
@@warriorsbreakdown he was a plus 22 vs Bulls
@ He had a good game against the Bulls, but doesn't take away from him being a backup. Plus minus isn't a direct correlation with how good of a player you actually are haha
Steve Kerr love small ball line up. Cannot be happen
Seriously. Fuck the small ball if you're not hitting 40%+ of your three pointers
What's the point of drafting players just to let them languish in the G League? GSW front office is trash.
Agreed
Steve kurr needs to fired together with Draymond Green..
4:13 1(gather step), 2,3,4,5
Why is the NBA ruining basketball?
Lmfao I mean I guess hahah
ive been preaching for post since i saw him getting drafted. dude was a stud in college and got put straight into the g league... steve kerr is a joke
I don't watch college hoops so had no idea. But he's looking like a potential option at the very least haha
Kerr will find a way to still play terrible rotations.
Lol I have some bare minimum hope
Spoiler alert: it won’t
That's why I said "could", not "will"
First 😊
IT WILL NOT!!
Love the optimism!
