In Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, we watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). The production gives us access to an entire shopping mall, where we can move freely, getting to know the characters hiding in it and carrying out tasks for them, conducting a journalistic investigation and gradually discovering pieces of the plot puzzle or finally fighting opponents. Although the living dead are the most popular among the latter, there is also no shortage of psychopaths that we have to face.
We can use practically anything we find in the stores we visit as weapons - from toys and sports equipment (such as baseball bats), through furniture and electronics, to construction tools (such as hammers) and finally melee weapons and firearms. When hitting or shooting at adversaries, we must remember that melee weapons are destroyed over time, while pistols and rifles are suitable for throwing away when we empty their magazines.
In addition, the game offers a wide range of clothing items that West can put on. Among them, there are, among others, all kinds of masks, jumpsuits and uniforms. In addition, in the shopping mall you can find books that provide us with various bonuses, food and drinks that regenerate the hero's health, as well as basically useless items implemented here solely for humorous purposes, such as a replica of the Megabuster from the Mega Man series, which shoots tennis balls.
As befits a journalist, Frank also has a camera with him, with which he can immortalize the events in which he takes part, as well as the creatures he faces. In exchange for taking photos and performing other actions, the hero collects so-called Prestige Points and gains subsequent levels; with promotions, his strength, speed, resistance to damage and endurance increase.
The passing of time plays an important role here - depending on whether we manage to complete the investigation within 72 hours (with time in the game passing about twelve times faster than real time), we will see a different ending.
