Jack and Lisa was an interesting fight. Despite it being an obvious representation of spousal abuse and child neglect; the idea of a boss fight being between two opponents with you simply needing to survive is a cool idea.
And don't forget her jealousy towards Theta which actually explains why she's a recurring boss in 32:37, Theta is her older sister
@@senpie6639 It also goes another way: the fact that Theta always remains beautiful and angelic even in the darkest nightmare means that the protagonist also really loves and adores her and never hates her.

For everyone thinking who Theta is and thought she is our character's classmate, look at 32:37 in the family photo frame, there's two girls, meaning Theta is our character's older sister, hence why she always think that her older sister is always special and talented, both characters shared abit of traits from their parents, our character has her mother's black hair while Theta has her father's blonde hair
I thought Theta was the tooth fairy.
Knowing nothing else about the game, my interpretation of the story is this:
The girl is in a coma after a car accident (based on cutscene after Mad Wheel), and seems to be somewhat aware of it, but has no desire to wake up. The little black demon girl you control is an OC of hers (based on Originals), and is acting as a representation of her 'will to live', or perhaps an imaginary ideal self, fighting back against her fears and traumas. These range from mundane phobias like veggies, dogs (probably got bitten on the hand by one) or dentists, to deep traumas like a strong inferiority complex (I don't think she was actually bullied, she seems to just believe that her classmates talk behind her back) and abusive parents, to what seems to be a general hopelessness over the world with manifestations of war and social media.
The big question here is Theta, the only recurring boss who escapes destruction each time, is actually pretty and human instead of a grotesque monster, and even kills the little devil in the end by stuffing her so full of those soul shards she self-destructs. I feel like that is a representation of the real girl disposing of her coping mechanism after finding the determination to live. As for Theta herself, she's clearly someone that the girl looks up to. Either she's an older sister, or a talented classmate/friend. Her boss fights may be out of a subconscious jealousy, but the girl doesn't actually hate her, and she may be a big motivating factor in why the girl chooses to wake up in the end.
Either way, the game has very interesting and detailed visuals, and the difficulty seems fairly balanced. Definately one of the more noteworthy indie games I've seen on this channel.
Actually if you look at the family photo frame at 32:37 , you can see that there's two kids in the picture, meaning Theta is indeed her older sister which explains why our character's father has blonde hair

I believe I get why the OC has a dog head as a hand cannon now. It's the protagonist's way of controlling her phobia of dogs in a way. Turning your own fears into a weapon against them. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that was the same hand she was bitten on. A way to reclaim bravery in a sense.

i think a nice touch at the end would be when she opens her eyes her parents are in the chair and stool asleep holding her hands and theta her sister is watching over her nearby awake

Ok so for Jack and Lisa note that Lisa only targets Jack while Jack only fires at you or indirectly hits Lisa
Lisa is abusive but Jack dose stuff that catches her in the crossfire
And the 2 beams is sort a thing from what I could tell like a breaking point/climax of a fight/argument
Edit: also due to how he has more bandages then Lisa I'd say that Jack is a abused husband who dosent try to hurt his wife but catches her in the crossfire of topics which cause the arguments
See how he protects himself while the mom only backs up and shakes on his attacks but he braces for the abuse
Gotta appreciate these video game boss showcases that randomly pop up on my recommended videos for showing me games that I have never seen before that actually look really cool and interesting

I have a couple things to say about neverawake and this channel as a whole.
First, about the game and the video, what you see here is *not* the entire boss! As stated early on in the game, “you don’t need to defeat the boss entirely, you only need to collect enough souls to relieve rem’s fear…” but, you can anyways! In addition, there’s a lot more content to this game than any longplay may show! Give it a shot!
As for this channel, i’ll have to congratulate you for being the most spoiler-free “bosses” channel out there! I know channels like this may need to spoil a thing here or there in order to interest some viewers, but there’s two things I noticed. First, the bosses shown are super ambiguous, meaning if someone hadn’t already played the game, it’d be a complete mystery to them anyways, and i don’t think a final boss has ever been shown in your thumbnails. Second, the games chosen aren’t “big” titles, meaning your videos are less likely to actually spoil someone on a big game. Videos like this is actually what got me to play this game!

From what i can see through the bosses and the story, i think i have a theory:
The girl doesnt like to eat her vegetables, she's afraid of dogs, the dentist and going to school (those are based on 3 phobias) and i believe she's gotten into an accident which left her in a coma and Theta?, I think she's the protagonist's sister

@@keharuickuka3143 I don't think so, because she is in other sections as "Theta in ballet" and "Theta Divine", mainly because of the ballet one I doubt she is a hospital employee

Cool and unique boss fights, but what was that final boss? You were trying to collect them at the start, but at the end you were avoiding them. I don't get it.
Because our character keeps denying that Theta which is her older sister does really care for her, hence why the hands that's holding her at the end was Theta hugging her sister

@@stephenford5661 from my perspective, the little souls you collect on the bosses are probably good things she tries extracting from the bad things to grow up as someone or maybe a manifestation of her hate for Said bosses, and the end, theta overflows her with Said things to show her she doesnt Care If she hates her, she atleast wants her to be alive and well
