- There is quite a misunderstanding around paul, the past participle of paal. No, it is not the passive voice. Paal has its own category for the past participle where as the other binyanim use the passive voice.

In some cases yes. It is a participle but it is not so obvious with all translations. Many people would call it an adjective when it is actually still a participle. I will put this on my list for. later video.

You mean the past participle? That is what in English is the 3rd verb form, like, to go - went- GONE . Only paal has a special for for that. Did you check out my book and my course? www.hebrew-verbs.com

Thank you for explaining the difference between הדלת נסגרת (being closed) and הדלת סגורה (is closed). But what about the past tense of nifal: הדלת נסגרה? The door was being closed? Or they are the same?
And what about הדלת הייתה סגורה? The door was closed? --> Does it imply that the door is now open?

Yes. Yes. and Yes. You simply change from "is" to "was". Same situation but in the past.

Past tense: הדלת נסגרת. -> The door was being closed (?)
Future tense: הדלת תיסדר. -> The door will be being closed (?)
Are these two forms ever useful? Why don't we just use the past participle סגור ?
Your examples are correct.
The reason we are not using the past participle is because nifal is about an ACTION, and past participle is about the RESULT. The passive action is marked by the use of the English "being".
If you want to use the past participle, which - as mentioned before - describes the result and not the action - you need now also "to be" in the past or future tense:
הדלת הייתה סגורה. (past)
הדלת תהיה סגורה. (future)
