As I’ve often said, I made a stupid mistake when I sold my Swedish Abu Ambassador 7000 C3reel. I couldn’t use it because of my limited vision. I guess the only good thing is that the reel went to a guy who will definitely keep fishing the reel. It was a beauty as I got a chrome spool replacing the stock spool on that reel. Needless to say as I had the box, paperwork, and two handle versions, the reel went for far more than I paid for it. I still wish I still owned it. I always enjoy your Ambassador videos as I love learning more about them Great job on this reel! By the way, my latest kidney stone surgery went well today as many small stones were removed. I’ll be home by tonight i hope. You have no idea how much I hate those stones. I’ve had then for exactly 50 years now. Oh! - I’ll get another Daiwa GS-9 on Thursday. I can’t wait! I love that Daiwa reel. - Chris
hindsight is always 20/20. my first car was a 66 mustang, the two proudest days during my ownership, was the day I got it and the day I sold it
Thanks Chris - Wishing you a speedy recovery!
I own and use 2 of the 1st gen Royal Express LH reels. It's important to note that the drag washers are different from later model RE's and the rest of the Ambassadeur line. Carbontex does sell the correct drag washers
Thanks for the additional information and tips on the washers - Dennis
I hope I can run across one of these to add to my Ambassador Collection.
They are relatively rare, but a nice find if you come across them. Good luck in your search - Dennis
I didn't know that they were rare. I serviced mine and don't like it as much as my other ambassadeurs. Maybe I'd be willing to part with it.
Rare in the sense of fewer made. If you don't like it you should sell or trade or give it away and get different reel. No sense holding on to if when you can give it a 2nd Chance to go fishing with someone else.
@@2ndChanceTackle I think I know a guy who would appreciate it. Thanks for the advice.
