The acting was amazing. The scene where Jae-eon says he is leaving with watering eyes was so realistic i cried, and this scene when he whipes his eye, you can feel the pain and the relief at the same time. I applaud Song Kang in this drama, amazing job.
Same girl. And I've seen that scene for 5 times already. SK's eyes had the same effect as Su-an, the little girl in Train to Busan. 😭👏 I hope he (and So Hee) would win an award this year.

the part that hurt the most is when they just finished the sculpture, and he was trying to say something but was unable to. the smile, and the eyes movements, thats trying not to cry. holy shit i was so hurt after that part

He’s scared of having a deep relationship or getting too closed to people because he thinks once you ‘go over the line’ (closed to someone), people tend to not care anymore. His mother left him & went to Paris to pursue her dancing career when he was only 10 years old. Hence the drama synopsis of him ‘likes to flirt but don’t want a relationship’. That’s why he always draw the lines when it comes to relationships. However when he met Nabi, his perspective started to change. He began to feel more for her but he didn’t understand what was it because he never felt like that before. He tried to deny it by going back to his old ways but he can’t forget Nabi. It took Nabi’s ‘disappearing act & being uncontactable’ as well as Nabi’s childhood friend who likes her coming into the picture that made him realised how deep his feelings was.
If you look closely at the sculpture, Jae Eon made the wings for Na Bi and left afterwards. He gave it to Na Bi so she can be free. It was up to Na Bi to finish the sculpture. In the end she made it like 'shedding', as if she was reborn to be a butterfly. At the bottom hv many 'faces' which can be seen like shedding and the girl with wings are born. She became a new person. This sculpture is a closure for Na Bi and a healing too. she finally enjoy her work and she got to see Jae Eon in a new light (not hiding her feelings and not let other opinion affect her)
I love that! “He gave her the freedom to fly” just like he gave his butterflies freedom to roam free. But she still chose to experience this journey with him, which is beautiful.
The entire season I was waiting to see when the sculpture would come into play and what it would mean but I didn’t get the symbolism in the end even when I knew it was there. Thanks for explaining!
Love this so much! I also thought this scene was brilliant. The parallelism of the art piece, their individual character growth and love story - all in one frame. Aside from giving her wings to fly (could be away from him), it also symbolizes how Park Jae Eon’s existence in Nabi’s life allowed her to feel again, to regain her passion and to connect with her honest self so she could finally be sure of what she wants and fly confidently. It may not make sense to everyone but he is what she needed. Same with him. She is what he needs to finally break free from his walls and fully experience love.. the love that makes him grow. It is the perfect ending for me! Beautiful!! 💜🦋💚
In Love Alarm too, Song Kang was the first to win the girl.. And it's been hinted in PC scenes that Nabi's feelings may waver. So... I hope the ending still ends with Jae-eon whatsoever. I'm so happy to see Jae-eon finally get the girl.
@@tomioka1911 about the post scene, I think DH represents part of Nabi who used to listen of what people say then it affects her judgment and decision. We know how out of all people, what DH said in ep9 strengthened Nabi's resolve to break up with Jae-eon, whatever their relationship was. So when Nabi saw DH again, she re-thought of her decision for a sec there, but then she saw Jae-eon and gripped his hand tightly, means she wouldn't be bothered anymore with whatever people said. This shows the growth of Nabi who has trust issue.
This ending reminds me of the quote from *Its okay to not be okay* where the psychiatrist says *"Being together torments you, but away from each other is equally painful, if both options feels like death. wouldn't it be better to suffer together?"* But nevertheless I do still think that we all deserve to be in a relationship where both are certain about each other. yeay.

Not all "good" guys can be "good" in a relationship when they finally get the girl. Not all "bad" guys will be "bad" in a relationship once they get the girl. Everyone has a different and some may have a distorted view of what a good guy and a bad guy really is.

Like True Beauty’s ending, this ending was definitely well deserved for both Nabi and Jae eon. They both went through so much growth together and starting new was inevitable - just like how her art was broken but then pieced together by only both of them. You can’t force your heart to love someone else you don’t have that special attraction to but you also can’t force your heart from wanting what it wants. Growth is not easy you guys, you make mistakes but you keep evolving and learning. It’s a process. I really commend the director and staff for depicting such a story like Nevertheless. The acting by Song Kang/Han So Hee and everyone, the cinematography, the music - they were all SO AMAZING!

Personally, i think that if she ended up with potato boy… it honestly would’ve felt forced on her end. And that’s also not fair for potato boy to be loved forcefully, and not passionately and truthfully like she was with Jae eon.
I swear Nevertheless gives u a whole new kinda kdrama with realistic and artistic aspects!!! The plots,casts,characters and their point of views are different from other kdramas for sure.though I'm addicted to dramas for fantasies and romances which would never happen in real life,I still love this show... I don't get why many people are toxic about this ending. JAE EON reformed himself and Nabi realised what she wants and what she can do. This is like literally the best ending you could have.
Because he had every red flag in the book even hurt her wrist when he finally got jealous and upset..he could do whatever he wants..she shouldnt..they both deserve the toxic relationship. Hopefully this scene is like he really changed although she should have had him gone a long time ago..stalking her..telling her what do drink what to eat..why she's out late, controlling..not love..I liked it..just the last 15 minutes not so much but knew it had to happen that way to please fans
remember when they first met, Nabi said "happiness is like a butterfly. when pursued, is always beyond our grasp. but if you sit down quietly, it may alight upon you." And then in the last episode, we see Jae-eon releasing his butterflies, setting them free. This means that love is an act of letting go - what's meant for you, will always find its way back to you. And in the end, it is proven that there's one butterfly who came back to him, and that is Nabi🦋❤️

That's what I've been saying! I found it kinda weird that potato guy fans were so bothered by nabi's decisions when in fact nabi showed in her actions and expressed in her words that she never really liked him more than a best friend. She's always saying, I don't want to disappoint him but never I like/love him as a man.

I low-key wish they gave him more lines here when she also said so much about she feels. By limiting his dialogues here and focusing more on how he looks at her, i guess they just left us to ponder if he really did change for her or not. Their chemistry is still the perfect one for me!

Can we please acknowledge that Park Jae Eon fell for Na-Bi the moment he laid eyes on her at the art exhibit of her ex-boyfriend where he saw her viewing the piece of art of “herself” so named. He additionally realized this when he ran into her that night at the bar on their very first encounter. (Remember Nabi’s sketch book and the drawing that PJ left for her) He told her in the cafe that he once fell in love at first site at the same art gallery that Nabi told him brought her so much anguish. Every time I read these message boards not one person has seemed to acknowledge this occurrence from the film and I am amazed!

I really loved this show the plot was solid and the chemistry between Han So-Hee and Song Kang was absolutely wild. Many people didn’t like this ending but I personally liked it a lot, he’s not perfect but he wants to change and be a better man because he loves her.
I liked the end of both kdrama and webtoon. They’re both realistic. In webtoon: you can really see that jae eon is a jerk and just want nabi for play. All he do is play with nabi’s feelings and just giving wrong signals to her. So it’s just perfect that they don’t end up together. Cause until the last episode of the webtoon it shows what kind of a guy he really is. In kdrama: at first jae eon really show how flirty he is but half of the story you can really see that he is changing little by little and showing how he really cares about nabi. But can’t accept the fact he’a falling for her, he’s confused because the feelings he felt was new to him. But in the end it really shows that he truly likes nabi. So nevertheless.. JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION. HAHA!
Beautiful. I love this scene so much. This talks about redemption, taking chances, and growth. Their chemistry together is crazy and unmatched 🔥🔥 Song Kang and Han So-hee need another project together I swear. I lost count of how many times I've rewatched this part since the episode aired. After all those uncertainties and heartbreaks, both of them have developed so much and find happiness in each other. I approve of this ending. This is not a toxic relationship, this is the journey of two people that finally found what their hearts desire after painful pasts. It was such a frustrating 10 weeks journey, nevertheless I'm still happy.
They actually never loved...nabi got attached via sex and Jaeon controlled via sex...that's what got so monotonous. He only got upset when he lost control of the butterfly.
one of the most realistic and heart aching kdramas out there, it really portrays how much uncertainty we have while living our lives, be it in our decisions for basic life choices or choices regarding relationships. we all start somewhere, and most of the time, we question ourselves if what we do is 'right', when all we want is to really show that we just care about the other person, in our own imperfect ways. it really shows how all of us ordinary people are, as we just truly be ourselves while growing up and learning more about ourselves. it's a masterpiece.

Stop confusing the jaeon from the drama as the webtoon one, they are two different characters altogether. Half of you are hating on drama jaeon because of your preconceived judgements that u made on the basis of webtoon, webtoon one was a complete jerk whereas the drama one was a complex character, grey like all of us who overcame his own demons for the love he had for nabi and finally expressed his feelings for nabi and came in a committed relationship with her and changed for the good . MY HEART IS SO HAPPY :)

She shouldn't force herself to love anybody, but she should force herself to make certain decisions that will be hard but good in the end for her. And that decision in my opinion would have been to let Jae-eon go for good. Let's not forget he kept "seeing" and "flirting" with other girls even when they were together...I feel like he doesn't deserve this second chance, sometimes people do things they can't take back...for me he treated her horribly and getting back with him is an emotional suicide. From the very first episode, whe only hear Nabi's narration. JE's character framed by Nabi's pov and perspective. We only see him through her eyes. No wonder if the audience see him as a bad guy, because Nabi leads us to see him like that. But gladly we can hear JE's narration in the last 2 episodes, we finally know his pov and perspective. And finally he realizes what he feels all this time towards Nabi. IT IS LOVE!

I don't understand why some people didn't like the ending. I know I am a pro JaeBi, but I think this is the best ending. As you see, no matter how many times Nabi pushes jae eon away, he still keeps coming back to her. and no matter how many times nabi try to switch her attention to Do Hyeok, she still thinks about Jae-Eon. This is NOT fair to Do Hyeok. Truly Do Hyoek deserves someone better. Meanwhile, Nabi and Jae-Eon are obviously in love with each other, but they both have their own personal issues. They are willing to take a risk. That's love. We don't just choose someone for convenience, and I admire Nabi for this.
Honestly one of the main reasons I didn't like it was that it could have been great drama where self love was showed and how she heals but they decided to go with the same cliche ending where the playboys changes. P.S English in not my first language

a realistic ending where despite the flaws that they both possess, they both still choose each other out of love and put effort on the relationship despite the risks. after the rain fight, they realize that their love for each other is the only thing that remains. when the sculpture broke and they fix it together, it symbolizes them starting over their broken relationship. despite the mess they’re in, it still turns into a beautiful art. both JE nad NB give each other a chance, they become each other’s trigger & cushion to grow. NB, to experience love again and be reassured of her values and choices, and JE, to feel safe to open up and show his feelings sincerely to someone. i think it’s beautiful ending that they deserve after all 🦋💜💚
I loved this ending, I love them together. They are not perfect, they are aware they made some mistakes but they decided to risk it and be together regardless. At the end of the day it's better to do what you want then not do it and wonder later in life what would happen if you gave it a chance. There is so much reality in their relationship and sometimes you have to struggle in order to get what you want but it's always worth it. I'll miss them and the whole Nevertheless crew.
I was nervous to see the ending but eventually, I am so happy because they are together at the end. SK and SH really make this drama unforgettable for me. Hope to see them again together in one frame again, nevertheless, I will always support both of them.

My take is that they need to grow up apart for a while. With Jae-on now being in a relationship, he didn’t take time to consider what he had done and now can’t change since he completed his goal of being with Na-bi. Na-bi...she’s a lost cause. Not potato boy, not butterfly boy. but simply, alone. She deserves to find people she comfortable with. Not people who make her tense and anxious (Jae-on)

Very realistic ending because whatever happens, you will choose to take the risk as long as you are with someone you love than to lost someone without keep on trying. It's okay they knew already their feelings towards each other and it's a new beginning. So happy.
For me those words of Jaeon to Nabi ‘you look the prettiest when you work on your pieces’ was the key point why Nabi went back to him. She had this trauma with the sculpture of her ex-bf with the caption ‘the most beautiful moment of a lover..’ implying that Nabi is the prettiest/most appreciated when she had sex with him deeply hurts her self-esteem. Like it makes her confused and question the true value of herself. And to reveal that Jaeon was also at the exhibition and witnessed her pain i believe he said those words on purpose to insist the real value of Nabi. Nabi had sex with both her ex, who cheated on her, and Jaeon who was just her fwb but how Jaeon sees her was way more respectful. She even said to Dohyuk that she’s happy to hear the words, it made her like working more and finally came to her sense realising the true value of herself.
I think Jaeon realised about Nabi’s trauma after the rain scene where they fight and her pained expression lingered in his head all night (as it was the second time he saw her cried. The first time was at her ex’s exhibition) plus how she said she regret it and stuff.
Jaeon really love her its not the sex but being happy with her everytime their together thats a relationship already. Jaeon is goodlooking helpful friendly thats why people are making gossips that his not good. People making gossips are the ones are bad and cant be trusted.jaeon has a great personality and also have a big heart because eventhough his past that his alone at the age of ten his separated to her mom but he still love her well his really good thats why i know the ending is happy ending. It was not his interest. She knew, she broke herself and tried again with another person. She made this when she broke up with her professor and with Jae-eon. Maybe a bad recipe that she wanted to try it again... 🤷♀️ Many people do that as well. They think a new relationship could be "the cure" for a past one. I don't know. Both ends are interesting.

In the last episode (?) she is trying with her friend, kinda going in a date and she saw and listen Jae-eon saying the same thing he used to catch up girls (the SAME thing he told her at the bar). Exactly mamsh! This series was very unique that others can't accept the fact that in this kdrama, they choose the reality more than perfect love story.. (Well, I'm referring to other kdrama that choose the better man more than the fucked up one.) But in life, we sometimes choose & risk what makes us happy even if it will give us pain. I love this theme plot of nevertheless. Usually kdrama romance genres would give love that could be unrealistic and fairy tale like dream of having relationships, this kdrama literally surpasses that and literally shows how having relationships are serious and sometimes not everything works out as you want it to be. It's all about giving that chance, move forward from that overthinking sense and realize that not everything is perfect but there's always room for learning and changing for the best of yourself and for others. Taking courage to deside things and listening to your heart that speaks truly about yourself.
focus...focus on the dialogue, the symbolism and parallel scenes. all will make sense to you script wise. my god this drama is so beautiful beyond words. the narration of nabi is a reference to her narration in ep 1. the part where she said “love” suddenly is the answer to her question in the beginning of the episode “how can i define the feelings i have left for jae eon?” 😭 when the main theme song “we’re already” started playing MY FUCKING HEART JUST 😭😭😭 the lyrics just hit different when you know the meaning. dohyeok deserves to be happy, yes. but he wasn’t there to be a “second male lead” he was there to be a catalyst and bring tension. the drama has and always been about jae eon and nabi. it’s so easy to take everything on its face value, but once you understand the intention since ep1, everything will make sense til the end. nabi and jae eon, you both are free now 🦋 what is important is them, their story, their happiness. director kim garam and writer jungwon, just know you both did so well on this drama 😭
I love the ending so much. They both deserved each other. It is love! They are still young and there are a lot of things they need to discover. It is nice that they choose each other as their partner to confront the future! Go go go go my artists Jaebi 💚💜
Such great team comes together rarely. Perfect cast, perfect script writer, perfect director... Perfect everything. I have never seen any romantic drama with deeper emotions and better acting than this. This was a master piece. Kudos to Netflix for dubbing it perfectly in English.

A bit conflicted about the end Nabi doesn’t deserve potato guy, but potato guy deserves happiness, Jaeon is broken and so is nabi, so more realistic for them to end together as you know even when people realize there will be heartbreak they still get together, so you know nabi and jaeon getting toughened makes sense cause no one is a perfect person, you know at least one thing I’m certain on all of the cast is hot and happy that side couples got a good ending
But potato guy is happy. You can see at the end he moved on and happy meeting someone else. Jae Eon and Nabi finally be true to themselves and restart their relationship. Thats not toxic though, they went through all that to get to where they are today. In the end when Nabi saw Jae Eon talking to girls, she just smile cause she knew she can trust Jae Eon this time. Usually she will hide away when encounter these situation. Every relationship is not just rainbows, you went through ups n downs and that's what the writers are trying to say in this series
I'm glad to find most of the commenters here realizing the beauty of this drama. Garam PD is freaking genius in directing the camera focus, building the tension and character. there are a lot of symbolisms that intertwined with each other that leads to why these two ended up together. wish more people can see these layers instead of only judging from one eye

Let’s be real they have really good chemistry and the ending was perfect and when Jaeon was holding back his tears my I was saying awwwww they both wanted to be with each other but we’re scared and couldn’t properly communicate what they wanted psa when they first were together they were just hooking up then feelings got involved and by the end they have both matured Nabi wasn’t jealous and Jae eon stopped flirting and learned how to be in a committed relationship at the end those girls came up to him it looked like
Looking closely on the art piece, the bottom part is taken from the first sculpture that was broken from the falling fan. Remember professor once told Nabi that she can take inspiration from jaeon and give the art a more meaning than just sculpture. So that's what jaeon gave her. From a broken piece to wings to fly. Exactly Nabi's situation as well. From a girl with broken heart and career, Jae-on gave her wings. And that's why they show the whole sculpture clearly just when they are finally talking their heart.

All those pain, angst, conflicts, frustration and sadness was all worth it Jaeon and Nabi got their happy ending. They grew so much and went through a lot. At the end they chose love and followed their heart.
This is by far the most realistic kdrama I've seen so far.. One more thing no offend to anyone.. This is not a typical romcom where male lead should be perfect... Those who are hating on the drama.. They can't digest these things.. Because this is so rare in kdrama.. Because in kdrama maximum romcom are perfect and cute love story. . . And many fans are used to those drama.
Can we talk about how this is such a masterpiece! At 0:15 , it's almost like JE wears the wings of the sculpture; perhaps JaeBi shippers (like me) could see the invisible wings on JE in that shot ,, and how the piano notes matched with every delicate footstep Nabi took ,, AND did you guys realised Nabi's line "I said I don't believe in fate or love anymore, but this... is too unrealistic." was actually repeated?! She said the exact same line in the very first episode!! Starting and ending off a note of her falling for JE is too beautiful of an ending :')

I HOPE BOTH SK AND SH GET RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR PERFORMANCE IN THIS DRAMA! I initially wanted Nabi to stay single at the end or maybe stay single and choose someone in the future. But the twist, despite being simple, was beautifully executed. In a social media group I joined, people were expecting to see Jae-eon and Nabi at her ex's exhibit in ep. 9. JTBC didn't show that and surprised us at ep. 10. 1. Do-hyeok no longer deserved Nabi since ep. 7's end scene. I love how he indirectly chose himself in the end because even though I was a JaeBi shipper, the moment Nabi handed him the flowers he gave her in front of other people really angered me. The embarrassment from that is too much. 2. Jae-eon... There are still questions that are left unanswered but I think JTBC was trying to leave it to our imagination. This wasn't a bad boy turned good boy story. You would understand if you had walls as high as Jae-eon's. JTBC was showing us his thoughts, his emotions, his defense mechanism. He was a scarred boy who chose healing. In ep. 9, he wanted Do-hyeok to see him entering Nabi's house in the hopes that Do-hyeok would stop pursuing her. That's why he said "Incredible. Is that why you chose him instead of me?" He was also asking Nabi for her real motive for telling Seol-a the things she said during their confrontation. Nabi was fuming and she just wanted to hurt him so she said that it was all just to screw him over. To get back at her, he said that he only asked her to date 'cause he thought that that was what she wanted. But you see him being honest with his true feelings come ep. 10. 3. Nabi... I love that she didn't choose Do-hyeok to give him pity love. (After two rejections, this made me so thankful that my childhood bestfriend was honest with his feelings and didn't like me back too.) Nabi recognized her feelings too. She stopped being an overthinker. She took a risk. Her informed choices used to be based on other people's inputs about Jae-eon, but now, she knows how he really feels about her. The ending was realistic. If you focus on their closing lines, that is the essence of loving. If you wanted a different ending for this series, then maybe that's the lesson that it was able to give you. The happy tears they had in this clip... I clapped so hard while crying. 💯

I’m happy they finally got together. This show was a true lesson of love. It wasn’t this magical love story where both characters are amazing perfect people who complete each other just like that. They both have individual flaws that made their relationship difficult but through the flaws they worked through their issues and found a way to complete each other even if they didn’t completely match. They made it work because they loved each other that much. And that’s a true lesson of love. It was a longggg journey with lots of twists to get there but they eventually did because there love is what kept them coming back to each other

What the hell did Jae On do wrong that everyone thinks it’s “toxic” for her to go to him? Did he actually cheat? He didn’t. Maybe in the webtoon he was more of a jerk and it was more obvious that she was headed for trouble, but in this drama it’s just two young people who are figuring it out.
I think everybody was upset because Jae Eon wanted to be "friends with benefits" and did not want to date or fall in love or be in a committed relationship at all. Did Nabi change him? I would love to see a season 2 to see how it goes!!! Get on that #NetFlix!!! lol
He manipulates, treats her as if she is a object and does no respect her boundary’s. Not only is HE toxic but the relationship both are involved in is toxic and well. In regards of cheating on her. He wasn’t, he was playing with others girls feelings just like na-bi. It’s frustrating to see people not understand or except the toxicity in this drama.
By far the best drama I have ever seen. So realistic and so heartbreaking at the same time. Everyone of us know and will know at some point in time that there is always someone who is not good for you AT ALL but you still can't let them go!

He’s scared of having a deep relationship or getting too closed to people because he thinks once you ‘go over the line’ (closed to someone), people tend to not care anymore. His mother left him & went to Paris to pursue her dancing career when he was only 10 years old. Hence the drama synopsis of him ‘likes to flirt but don’t want a relationship’. That’s why he always draw the lines when it comes to relationships. However when he met Nabi, his perspective started to change. He began to feel more for her but he didn’t understand what was it because he never felt like that before. He tried to deny it by going back to his old ways but he can’t forget Nabi. It took Nabi’s ‘disappearing act & being uncontactable’ as well as Nabi’s childhood friend who likes her coming into the picture that made him realised how deep his feelings was.
If you look closely at the sculpture, Jae Eon made the wings for Na Bi and left afterwards. He gave it to Na Bi so she can be free. It was up to Na Bi to finish the sculpture. In the end she made it like 'shedding', as if she was reborn to be a butterfly. At the bottom hv many 'faces' which can be seen like shedding and the girl with wings are born. She became a new person. This sculpture is a closure for Na Bi and a healing too. she finally enjoy her work and she got to see Jae Eon in a new light (not hiding her feelings and not let other opinion affect her)
I love that! “He gave her the freedom to fly” just like he gave his butterflies freedom to roam free. But she still chose to experience this journey with him, which is beautiful.
The entire season I was waiting to see when the sculpture would come into play and what it would mean but I didn’t get the symbolism in the end even when I knew it was there. Thanks for explaining!
Love this so much! I also thought this scene was brilliant. The parallelism of the art piece, their individual character growth and love story - all in one frame. Aside from giving her wings to fly (could be away from him), it also symbolizes how Park Jae Eon’s existence in Nabi’s life allowed her to feel again, to regain her passion and to connect with her honest self so she could finally be sure of what she wants and fly confidently. It may not make sense to everyone but he is what she needed. Same with him. She is what he needs to finally break free from his walls and fully experience love.. the love that makes him grow. It is the perfect ending for me! Beautiful!! 💜🦋💚

@@tomioka1911 about the post scene, I think DH represents part of Nabi who used to listen of what people say then it affects her judgment and decision. We know how out of all people, what DH said in ep9 strengthened Nabi's resolve to break up with Jae-eon, whatever their relationship was.
So when Nabi saw DH again, she re-thought of her decision for a sec there, but then she saw Jae-eon and gripped his hand tightly, means she wouldn't be bothered anymore with whatever people said. This shows the growth of Nabi who has trust issue.

Like True Beauty’s ending, this ending was definitely well deserved for both Nabi and Jae eon. They both went through so much growth together and starting new was inevitable - just like how her art was broken but then pieced together by only both of them. You can’t force your heart to love someone else you don’t have that special attraction to but you also can’t force your heart from wanting what it wants. Growth is not easy you guys, you make mistakes but you keep evolving and learning. It’s a process. I really commend the director and staff for depicting such a story like Nevertheless. The acting by Song Kang/Han So Hee and everyone, the cinematography, the music - they were all SO AMAZING!

The plots,casts,characters and their point of views are different from other kdramas for sure.though I'm addicted to dramas for fantasies and romances which would never happen in real life,I still love this show... I loved the fact that Jae on said let's fix this referring to nabi's project when it broke.. but also there relationship... freaking love it ❤
remember when they first met, Nabi said "happiness is like a butterfly. when pursued, is always beyond our grasp. but if you sit down quietly, it may alight upon you." And then in the last episode, we see Jae-eon releasing his butterflies, setting them free. This means that love is an act of letting go - what's meant for you, will always find its way back to you. And in the end, it is proven that there's one butterfly who came back to him, and that is Nabi🦋❤️

I found it kinda weird that potato guy fans were so bothered by nabi's decisions when in fact nabi showed in her actions and expressed in her words that she never really liked him more than a best friend. She's always saying, I don't want to disappoint him but never I like/love him as a man.

Can we please acknowledge that Park Jae Eon fell for Na-Bi the moment he laid eyes on her at the art exhibit of her ex-boyfriend where he saw her viewing the piece of art of “herself” so named. He additionally realized this when he ran into her that night at the bar on their very first encounter. (Remember Nabi’s sketch book and the drawing that PJ left for her) He told her in the cafe that he once fell in love at first site at the same art gallery that Nabi told him brought her so much anguish. Every time I read these message boards not one person has seemed to acknowledge this occurrence from the film and I am amazed!

I really loved this show the plot was solid and the chemistry between Han So-Hee and Song Kang was absolutely wild. Many people didn’t like this ending but I personally liked it a lot, he’s not perfect but he wants to change and be a better man because he loves her.

I liked the end of both kdrama and webtoon. They’re both realistic.
In webtoon: you can really see that jae eon is a jerk and just want nabi for play. All he do is play with nabi’s feelings and just giving wrong signals to her. So it’s just perfect that they don’t end up together. Cause until the last episode of the webtoon it shows what kind of a guy he really is.
In kdrama: at first jae eon really show how flirty he is but half of the story you can really see that he is changing little by little and showing how he really cares about nabi. But can’t accept the fact he’a falling for her, he’s confused because the feelings he felt was new to him. But in the end it really shows that he truly likes nabi.
So nevertheless.. JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION. HAHA!

I lost count of how many times I've rewatched this part since the episode aired. After all those uncertainties and heartbreaks, both of them have developed so much and find happiness in each other. I approve of this ending. This is not a toxic relationship, this is the journey of two people that finally found what their hearts desire after painful pasts.

one of the most realistic and heart aching kdramas out there, it really portrays how much uncertainty we have while living our lives, be it in our decisions for basic life choices or choices regarding relationships. we all start somewhere, and most of the time, we question ourselves if what we do is 'right', when all we want is to really show that we just care about the other person, in our own imperfect ways.
it really shows how all of us ordinary people are, as we just truly be ourselves while growing up and learning more about ourselves. it's a masterpiece.

Stop confusing the jaeon from the drama as the webtoon one, they are two different characters altogether. Half of you are hating on drama jaeon because of your preconceived judgements that u made on the basis of webtoon, webtoon one was a complete jerk whereas the drama one was a complex character, grey like all of us who overcame his own demons for the love he had for nabi and finally expressed his feelings for nabi and came in a committed relationship with her and changed for the good . And that decision in my opinion would have been to let Jae-eon go for good. Let's not forget he kept "seeing" and "flirting" with other girls even when they were together...I feel like he doesn't deserve this second chance, sometimes people do things they can't take back...for me he treated her horribly and getting back with him is an emotional suicide. I don't understand why some people didn't like the ending. I know I am a pro JaeBi, but I think this is the best ending. As you see, no matter how many times Nabi pushes jae eon away, he still keeps coming back to her. and no matter how many times nabi try to switch her attention to Do Hyeok, she still thinks about Jae-Eon. This is NOT fair to Do Hyeok. Truly Do Hyoek deserves someone better. Meanwhile, Nabi and Jae-Eon are obviously in love with each other, but they both have their own personal issues. They are willing to take a risk. That's love. We don't just choose someone for convenience, and I admire Nabi for this.

a realistic ending where despite the flaws that they both possess, they both still choose each other out of love and put effort on the relationship despite the risks. after the rain fight, they realize that their love for each other is the only thing that remains. when the sculpture broke and they fix it together, it symbolizes them starting over their broken relationship. despite the mess they’re in, it still turns into a beautiful art.
both JE nad NB give each other a chance, they become each other’s trigger & cushion to grow. NB, to experience love again and be reassured of her values and choices, and JE, to feel safe to open up and show his feelings sincerely to someone.

I loved this ending, I love them together. They are not perfect, they are aware they made some mistakes but they decided to risk it and be together regardless. At the end of the day it's better to do what you want then not do it and wonder later in life what would happen if you gave it a chance. There is so much reality in their relationship and sometimes you have to struggle in order to get what you want but it's always worth it. I'll miss them and the whole Nevertheless crew.

My take is that they need to grow up apart for a while. With Jae-on now being in a relationship, he didn’t take time to consider what he had done and now can’t change since he completed his goal of being with Na-bi. Na-bi...she’s a lost cause. Not potato boy, not butterfly boy. but simply, alone. She deserves to find people she comfortable with. Not people who make her tense and anxious (Jae-on)

For me those words of Jaeon to Nabi ‘you look the prettiest when you work on your pieces’ was the key point why Nabi went back to him. She had this trauma with the sculpture of her ex-bf with the caption ‘the most beautiful moment of a lover..’ implying that Nabi is the prettiest/most appreciated when she had sex with him deeply hurts her self-esteem. Like it makes her confused and question the true value of herself. And to reveal that Jaeon was also at the exhibition and witnessed her pain i believe he said those words on purpose to insist the real value of Nabi. Nabi had sex with both her ex, who cheated on her, and Jaeon who was just her fwb but how Jaeon sees her was way more respectful. She even said to Dohyuk that she’s happy to hear the words, it made her like working more and finally came to her sense realising the true value of herself.
I think Jaeon realised about Nabi’s trauma after the rain scene where they fight and her pained expression lingered in his head all night (as it was the second time he saw her cried. The first time was at her ex’s exhibition) plus how she said she regret it and stuff.

I think both ends are realistic. In the webtoon I think Jae-eon was the worst and in the end, he showed that he never wanted to grow up with a relationship. It was not his interest. She knew, she broke herself and tried again with another person. She made this when she broke up with her professor and with Jae-eon. Maybe a bad recipe that she wanted to try it again... 🤷♀️
Many people do that as well. They think a new relationship could be "the cure" for a past one. I don't know. Both ends are interesting.

In the end, my perspective is that Jae-eon never wanted to change. He liked to have that "bad guy" vibe and not to involve with anyone. It's like he purpose was to mess up with Nabi 😬😬 we know that is no exactly like this, but it feels like.
So, they have a big discussion, they ended and she told that friend of hers that even she wanted to try a new relationship, she didn't want to mess up with him like she was... In the last episode (?) she is trying with her friend, kinda going in a date and she saw and listen Jae-eon saying the same thing he used to catch up girls (the SAME thing he told her at the bar). About Nabis (butterflies). She is in panic, but she knows that she is in a better place and got rid of more deception.
If anyone else wants to correct, go ahead hehe. It's my perspective of the finale.

(Well, I'm referring to other kdrama that choose the better man more than the fucked up one.) But in life, we sometimes choose & risk what makes us happy even if it will give us pain. I love this theme plot of nevertheless. Usually kdrama romance genres would give love that could be unrealistic and fairy tale like dream of having relationships, this kdrama literally surpasses that and literally shows how having relationships are serious and sometimes not everything works out as you want it to be. It's all about giving that chance, move forward from that overthinking sense and realize that not everything is perfect but there's always room for learning and changing for the best of yourself and for others. Taking courage to deside things and listening to your heart that speaks truly about yourself.

dohyeok deserves to be happy, yes. but he wasn’t there to be a “second male lead” he was there to be a catalyst and bring tension. the drama has and always been about jae eon and nabi.
it’s so easy to take everything on its face value, but once you understand the intention since ep1, everything will make sense til the end.

A bit conflicted about the end Nabi doesn’t deserve potato guy, but potato guy deserves happiness, Jaeon is broken and so is nabi, so more realistic for them to end together as you know even when people realize there will be heartbreak they still get together, so you know nabi and jaeon getting toughened makes sense cause no one is a perfect person, you know at least one thing I’m certain on all of the cast is hot and happy that side couples got a good ending
But potato guy is happy. You can see at the end he moved on and happy meeting someone else. Jae Eon and Nabi finally be true to themselves and restart their relationship. Thats not toxic though, they went through all that to get to where they are today. In the end when Nabi saw Jae Eon talking to girls, she just smile cause she knew she can trust Jae Eon this time. Usually she will hide away when encounter these situation. Every relationship is not just rainbows, you went through ups n downs and that's what the writers are trying to say in this series

Garam PD is freaking genius in directing the camera focus, building the tension and character. there are a lot of symbolisms that intertwined with each other that leads to why these two ended up together. wish more people can see these layers instead of only judging from one eye

Let’s be real they have really good chemistry and the ending was perfect and when Jaeon was holding back his tears my I was saying awwwww they both wanted to be with each other but we’re scared and couldn’t properly communicate what they wanted psa when they first were together they were just hooking up then feelings got involved and by the end they have both matured Nabi wasn’t jealous and Jae eon stopped flirting and learned how to be in a committed relationship at the end those girls came up to him it looked like

Looking closely on the art piece, the bottom part is taken from the first sculpture that was broken from the falling fan. Remember professor once told Nabi that she can take inspiration from jaeon and give the art a more meaning than just sculpture. So that's what jaeon gave her. From a broken piece to wings to fly. Exactly Nabi's situation as well. From a girl with broken heart and career, Jae-on gave her wings. And that's why they show the whole sculpture clearly just when they are finally talking their heart.
I really love this ending! Played it several times and still feel butterflies..their chemistry is undeniable. More projects for SK and SH pls!

All those pain, angst, conflicts, frustration and sadness was all worth it Jaeon and Nabi got their happy ending. They grew so much and went through a lot. At the end they chose love and followed their heart.
This is by far the most realistic kdrama I've seen so far.. One more thing no offend to anyone.. This is not a typical romcom where male lead should be perfect... Those who are hating on the drama.. They can't digest these things.. Because this is so rare in kdrama.. Because in kdrama maximum romcom are perfect and cute love story. . . And many fans are used to those drama.
You can’t watch this drama and not love both Han So Hee and Song Kang. They’re both so charming and great actors. ❤️
Can we talk about how this is such a masterpiece! At 0:15 , it's almost like JE wears the wings of the sculpture; perhaps JaeBi shippers (like me) could see the invisible wings on JE in that shot ,, and how the piano notes matched with every delicate footstep Nabi took ,, AND did you guys realised Nabi's line "I said I don't believe in fate or love anymore, but this... is too unrealistic." was actually repeated?! She said the exact same line in the very first episode!! Starting and ending off a note of her falling for JE is too beautiful of an ending :')

I initially wanted Nabi to stay single at the end or maybe stay single and choose someone in the future. But the twist, despite being simple, was beautifully executed.
In a social media group I joined, people were expecting to see Jae-eon and Nabi at her ex's exhibit in ep. 9. JTBC didn't show that and surprised us at ep. 10.
1. Do-hyeok no longer deserved Nabi since ep. 7's end scene. I love how he indirectly chose himself in the end because even though I was a JaeBi shipper, the moment Nabi handed him the flowers he gave her in front of other people really angered me. The embarrassment from that is too much.
2. Jae-eon... There are still questions that are left unanswered but I think JTBC was trying to leave it to our imagination. This wasn't a bad boy turned good boy story. You would understand if you had walls as high as Jae-eon's. JTBC was showing us his thoughts, his emotions, his defense mechanism. He was a scarred boy who chose healing.
In ep. 9, he wanted Do-hyeok to see him entering Nabi's house in the hopes that Do-hyeok would stop pursuing her. That's why he said "Incredible. Is that why you chose him instead of me?" He was also asking Nabi for her real motive for telling Seol-a the things she said during their confrontation. Nabi was fuming and she just wanted to hurt him so she said that it was all just to screw him over. To get back at her, he said that he only asked her to date 'cause he thought that that was what she wanted. But you see him being honest with his true feelings come ep. 10.
3. Nabi... I love that she didn't choose Do-hyeok to give him pity love. (After two rejections, this made me so thankful that my childhood bestfriend was honest with his feelings and didn't like me back too.) Nabi recognized her feelings too. She stopped being an overthinker. She took a risk. Her informed choices used to be based on other people's inputs about Jae-eon, but now, she knows how he really feels about her.
The ending was realistic. If you focus on their closing lines, that is the essence of loving. If you wanted a different ending for this series, then maybe that's the lesson that it was able to give you.
The happy tears they had in this clip... I clapped so hard while crying. 💯

He was indeed a player but then he met her and he starts to change he felt empty when she left him,he starts to fear about losing her,he wasn't sure about his own feelings at first.
I’m happy they finally got together. This show was a true lesson of love. It wasn’t this magical love story where both characters are amazing perfect people who complete each other just like that. They both have individual flaws that made their relationship difficult but through the flaws they worked through their issues and found a way to complete each other even if they didn’t completely match. They made it work because they loved each other that much. And that’s a true lesson of love. It was a longggg journey with lots of twists to get there but they eventually did because there love is what kept them coming back to each other

What the hell did Jae On do wrong that everyone thinks it’s “toxic” for her to go to him? Did he actually cheat? He didn’t. Maybe in the webtoon he was more of a jerk and it was more obvious that she was headed for trouble, but in this drama it’s just two young people who are figuring it out.

I think everybody was upset because Jae Eon wanted to be "friends with benefits" and did not want to date or fall in love or be in a committed relationship at all. Did Nabi change him? I would love to see a season 2 to see how it goes!!! Get on that #NetFlix!!! lol
And also she wasn't a saint either!. Even she was not healed from her previous relationship. They ended up together for good.
He manipulates, treats her as if she is a object and does no respect her boundary’s.
Not only is HE toxic but the relationship both are involved in is toxic and well.
In regards of cheating on her. He wasn’t, he was playing with others girls feelings just like na-bi.
It’s frustrating to see people not understand or except the toxicity in this drama.
By far the best drama I have ever seen. So realistic and so heartbreaking at the same time. Everyone of us know and will know at some point in time that there is always someone who is not good for you AT ALL but you still can't let them go!
He was a play boy but he didn't "play" with his girl in the end and that makes my heart go flatten after him 😭✨🤍
