    For anyone wondering how tell if the spark plugs are the original plugs from factory - @ 6:52 of the video you will see that marking on the plug the little white triangle you will only get that on oem spark plugs some manufactures have different shapes but typically it is a triangle

    I've checked spark plugs at the recommended replacement intervals on various makes of cars and motorcycles, and the gaps are almost always still within spec. I usually just replace them anyway, since I have new plugs on hand, but for my late-model WRX with pricier iridium plugs, I plan to run them well past the 60k mile interval if they're still in good shape. This video make me feel a bit better about doing this.

    I always recommend a throttle body cleaning with plugs and wires and, if the plugs are WAY too old like those, I also recommend a decarbon to get as much of the junk out of the cylinders as possible. You'd be surprised how much better a tired engine runs after that.

    Hello MrSubaru1387 I got a quick question and hopefully you can answer for me because I recently got my first Subaru and the previous owner didn’t shed much light for me. I bought a 2004 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS but the engine has been swapped to a non turbo JDM 2.0 with around 60k miles. When I look at the stamp on the block I’m about 97% sure it’s EJ20 I can’t seem to find a straight answer on forums to these 3 questions.
    1. What grade Fuel should I be using?
    2. What oil type should I use
    3. What coolant type should I use
    4. What oil filter should I use
    Hopefully you can help I wanna keep this car in tiptop shape because I’m already in love with it.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
    P.S someone on a Reddit forum said oil type depends on climate lol I live in Kentucky if that helps

    @86753091974 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It's burning oil bad...the oil dilutes the mixture and lowers the octane which does that to the spark plug porcelain. Need to find out where the oil is coming from...rings or valve guides or both.

    I recently went through something similar. 94 chevy c2500. Got it from some ford guys who thought it was a great idea to tune it up with ford parts. Dead miss on 2 cylinders. Pulled the autolite plugs and 2 were not the same number as the other 6. They were long enough so that the piston was able to kiss the plug and leave them with no gap. Another story 2005 gmc 2500 running hot under load on interstate such as pulling a trailer. 375k on the original plugs. Plugs solved the issue

    This is a great video. I have a quick question for you Mr. Subaru: Lets say the air conditioning pump on a 2013 4 cylinder DOHC subaru motor has leaked out all of the lubricant or has been overfilled with lubricant in the system. The driver realizes the AC isnt working and just stops using it while he drives. A few months later, he's far from home in a blizzard and can't call if he gets stuck due to mountains. He's running the heater (with the AC button on) and the car starts making noise. It goes into "lag" mode with the check engine light on. With no other choice, he's forced to drive it as far as it will go in order to get somewhere where a phone call can be made. The engine never overheats but is now 2 quarts low on oil for no explainable reason. That's 2 out of 5 quarts total (if I remember correctly which I often don't) in the engine, so 3 quarts in the motor still.
    People are saying the engine is destroyed. From an air conditioner pump? No way, right? Did the AC pump just freeze up and drag the engine down? If so, what would that do if forced to continue driving? I had to tow it home after I got the phone calls out... Now it sits. Damn nice forester.

    Unfortunately there are no SJ Forester's with the 2.0 liter turbo gasoline engine and manual transmission, only with CVT, but I'd really like one. I see three ways so I can have one: 1. Manual swap an XT model with a non-XT manual transmission; 2.turbo a manual non-XT model to have the extra power; 3. just pick one of the XT with the CVT or the non-XT with the manual and use it without modifying. Have you done any of the 1 or 2 before and which one do you recommened?

    Off topic but I think donut media watched your video about the subaru series. they released a video yesterday tearing down the blown engine out the crashed car said they had "custom baffled oil pans for all there engines"....... I dont believe them tbh why leave out a known issue from the series and only mention baffled pans once they've received hate from those that know 🤦‍♂️
