    Where do I find the gore tex patch material. I bought a kokatat repair kit and it only contained patches with adhesive under a peel strip.

    PERFECT!!! Just what I needed. Thank you sooooo much. We are headed to New Zealand and had a hole in one of our bags. I bought Seam Grip that thought to myself.... This could end up as mess. The tape idea, the circle idea, inside vs outside, seal the outside. All may be figured out after several fails - you saved the fails. Thanks again!

    Thank you. How do I go about when the leak is in the connected part of the dry pants sock, to be more specific where your toes are placed. It is not a flat area obviously but a connected area of the two parts of the material.

    • @NRSWEB
      @NRSWEB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If gluing on a patch isn't possible you have a couple other options. Depending on the size of the leak a simple Aquaseal patch might do the trick. If its a larger tear you might be able to sew the tear then cover the area with Aquaseal. The last option is to send the pants to a repair facility and they might be able to patch the hole using seam tape. Feel free to give us a call if you have any other questions (877-677-4327).

      NRS thanks do you mean the aqua seal patch is a kit I get with the patch and tube of glue to stick it.

    • @NRSWEB
      @NRSWEB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SpicyAngler Aquaseal can be used as an adhesive to glue on a patch or can be applied to small hole instead of a patch. We don't actually sell a kit that contains waterproof breathable material for patching drysuits or dri pants.

      NRS I see so if there is a needle point hole I can try to put the glue on it and see if it seals it?

    Can you mix and dilute the seam grip with some kind of thinner so it becomes easier to apply when seam sealing a tent

    • @NRSWEB
      @NRSWEB  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Stephen, You can thin down Seam Grip and Aquaseal with a product called Gear Aid Aquaseal FD Cure Accelerator & Cleaner. This product was formally known as Cotol, the name was recently changed. We only sell the accelerator in a 1 quart size, individually, but we do sell a kit that contains a small amount of accelerator along with a tube of Aquaseal, there is a link below. For your reference Aquaseal and Seam Grip are very similar with the only difference being thickness. Aquaseal is a much thicker consistency. If you have further questions feel free to give us a call at 877-677-4327.

    My PUL cloth diapers don't have tears, but after many hot bleach soaks, the waterproof coating seems to have dissolved, and water seeps through the fabric. Is there anyway to repair the waterproof coating. For example, is there any kind of waterproofing material that I can paint on them?

    • @NRSWEB
      @NRSWEB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the question! You could apply a thin coat of seam grip over the old coating which would work but you might end up with a pretty thick coating and it could make the diaper stiff. Another option would be Gear Aid Tent Fabric Sealant. We don't sell it at NRS but its used to make non breathable waterproof fabrics waterproof again.

    Can you use the same method for Cordura AFT?

    • @NRSWEB
      @NRSWEB  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We don't have a video but you can use a combination of heat and solvent to remove a patch. Heat will soften the glue and allow the edge of the patch to be lifted. Once you have an edge free pull on it with pliers and work the glue edge with a MEK soaked rag. MEK is flammable so be careful using it around a heat source. If you have further questions feel free to give us a call at 877-677-4327.

    I didn't wait 10 minutes for the glue to get tacky on my repair... but my patch seems ok. Did I screw it up?

    • @NRSWEB
      @NRSWEB  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If its holding I wouldn't mess with it. By not waiting you might affect the initial strength. But eventually it will cure out. Before you use the item test the patch and make sure it doesn't move.

      @@NRSWEB thanks. I clamped it up overnight and it seems solid. Its a 2" patch on a kiteboard kite. Materials are polyester to dacron. Like i said, sure seems like a good repair... Both sides coated then clamped overnight for about 12 hours total.

    How to fix waterproof backpacks?? Pls pls pls

    • @NRSWEB
      @NRSWEB  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The techniques used in this video should carry over to other waterproof fabrics including a waterproof backpack. Finding the correct patch material might be difficult. Start by contacting the manufacturer. If you have any other, specific, questions feel free to give NRS a call at 877-677-4327.
