Hi, Rosie. That cake looks absolutely gorgeous. You have done it again. I am really impressed with your skill. I love how your cakes are vividly detailed and a lot of effort has been put in and a lot of care. I can't wait for your Christmas themed cakes. :-)
Gorgeous. I too love the look of the wide frosting layer and the fact that isn't actually all frosting. It looks amazing but nobody needs to eat that much frosting so what a great compromise. The Meringues are fantastic- I don't really like meringue to eat but I love the way they look and the gold luster dust is perfect. This naked cake with such a sweet pink icing and the gorgeous gilded meringues is one of my favorite cakes of late. Do you follow The Meringue Girls? I am obsessed with their desserts...everything is eye candy.
Love all of your videos! Could you please tell me what open star piping tip that is?! I've been dying to find a piping tip that will give me that result. Thank you!
Hey lovely, how many cakes and cupcakes does your frosting mixture generally yield? And, which cake tutorial have you ever doubled it's quantity? Thankyou so much, you have the best cake tutorials on TH-cam xx
Hi rosie!!! Thanks for your tutorial !!love it. Coul you please tell me what is difference in the buttercream recipe? Because i do not find extra ingredient to make it more hard it o thick and that is my qquest.thanks again for allm
thanks so much for.your prompt response... I love watching ur tutorials.... I'm from India and unfortunately we don't get this brand of premix here 😣.. so scratch it is 😊 thanks again... awaiting ur next post.... tc
Live this idea Rosie thanks for sharing. I have always wondered how to get that thick naked look! would swiss meringue buttercream work with this as well? x
Thank you! Yes they can, I normally would add 1/2 tea spoon or so of vanilla extract, or if you can vanilla beans (I wouldn't add too much liquid flavour as it messes with the consistency of the meringue, plus it takes much longer for the meringue to dry otherwise). But 1/4 to even 1/2 teaspoon won't affect the meringue too much.
Hi +Michelle Pinheiro, In this cake I used Bakels premix (it's the bomb, just amazing). But I do have a scratch vanilla cake recipe if you are interested. For tutorials that aren't recipe focused, I like to use Bakels premixes as its much cheaper and alooot less time consuming. More time to focus on the tutorials and other commitments, but if I made the recipe then I will list a link in the description box to the recipe :)
Hi +Zhanara Sembinova, no worries ;) the buttercream doesn't taste like butter at all. It's actually almost creamy tasting. there's a smoothness to it and a sweetness as well. Not overly sweet, although some people are more sensitive to sugar than others x)
Hi Rosie. I need your help ... Can I frost a cake with white chocolate ganache as opposed to dark chocolate ganash before covering it with fondant? What would the proportion of white chocolate to cream be then?
Hey +Lyzette McMaster, yes you can. For white chocolate ganache you add 1/3 of the weight in cream. So if you have 300 grams chocolate then you add 100 grams of cream. Sometimes it depends on the chocolate though. For example when I have tiny buttons of white chocolate I need to add less cream otherwise my ganache comes out too soft. The larger buttons seems to work better with this 1:3 recipe. Like the nestle melts for example work well with the 1:3 ratio.
Thank you so much for answering my question! I was stressing about that because I need to make my niece a birthday cake and I really wanted to use white chocolate!
Hey +Aisha Rais, I do have a recipe that shows you how to make a vanilla cake from scratch: th-cam.com/video/L2eytkx1xsU/w-d-xo.html (just don't add in any salted caramel and it makes a scratch vanilla cake :)
+Princess AndThePirates lol I try to give them away on facebook or to colleagues. Otherwise they end up in the bin at my house.. its an unfortunate fate.
hey Rosie's Desert Spot do you do birthday cakes my sister is looking for a teal and lavender 3 layered buttercream cake fit for a queen like her. please make a video.
+Smile Smile that's awesome! What ingredients go into making homemade gumpaste I wonder? I remember watching how to do it a while back but it was always just easier to buy it lol.
Hello! I know this is an older video but I hope you still see this! I want to make this cake for my niece's baby shower and would like to know if there's a recipe for the cake. I normally make one with just flour, sugar and eggs but it's too soft and it would break off and crumble with the scraping! Thanks!
Hi hun, thank you for your comment! I like to use butter based cakes- the recipe for this vanilla cake is right here: th-cam.com/video/mb7dzqxnl0k/w-d-xo.html these are cupcakes, but I use this recipe for both cupcakes and cakes. Apologies for the low quality! This was one of my early early videos haha
Rosie's Dessert Spot heyyy thanks so much for the reply :) if I was to make it chocolate, can I replace some of the flour for chocolate powder? Again, thank you so much, you rock!
Is there a reason why you didn't 'glue' the meringues to the cake with little dollops of buttercream frosting, on the top & the sides? Won't the meringues move around as you cut the cake, or fall off the sides?
dose your powdered sugar have any corn starch or corn flour???? , every time i make my buttercream it becomes grainy so i thought that is the problem ???
+Ruba Homaidan Hi, yes you can :) But the measurements might be different to the measurements in the meringue tutorial. I know it can be done (that's how work does it) I just haven't tried it myself yet (using icing sugar)
+Rosie's Dessert Spot *update: when using icing sugar, all you need to do is double the weight of icing sugar to your egg white :) so if you have 50 grams of egg white, you need to add in 100 grams of icing sugar to make the meringue. It helps to work with qualified pastry chefs lol
+Adelita Rivera usually what people do is open up the oven, you don't bake merengues, you dry them, there are a lot of other videos on youtube about how to make merengues and they can actually stay white if done correctly
Wait the icing that u used for in between the cake had in cooked eggs isn't that bad? (And gross) plz answer I need to make a cake for my niece and nephew
Hi, the frosting is butterream frosting, but the meringues are egg whites that have been dried out completely. Using sterilized carton egg whites might make you feel a little better ;)
No!!?? It's normal Buttercream icing NOT Swiss or Italian meringue Buttercream.... which by the way are safe to eat as the heat of the sugar syrup cooks the egg thoroughly whilst being drizzled in when being whisked...I'm not sure why it's gross?? *You can read all the steps & ingredients for this cake by pressing on the arrow above subscribe. ^^^
Hey hun, thank you for your comment. The recipe for the cakes are just in the description box below the video. I also use Bakels cake mixes in most of my more recent videos :)
+HeyItsMaxim lol I have been trying to keep mindful of this as I make my videos. If the cake isn't meant for someone (sometimes I record cakes I make for clients for for parties I am going to) then I will generally cut into it :)

Ms. Rosie.... can the meringues be flavored and if so can--- you give a ratio or aprox?
Thank you! Yes they can, I normally would add 1/2 tea spoon or so of vanilla extract, or if you can vanilla beans (I wouldn't add too much liquid flavour as it messes with the consistency of the meringue, plus it takes much longer for the meringue to dry otherwise). +jodicatastrophe lol it's very misleading isn't it ;)
Hı Rosie ! thank you for sharing ) would you pls tell is it tasty with buttercream frosting ? does it feels like butter or not?
Hi +Zhanara Sembinova, no worries ;) the buttercream doesn't taste like butter at all. It's actually almost creamy tasting. there's a smoothness to it and a sweetness as well. Not overly sweet, although some people are more sensitive to sugar than others x)
Rosie's Dessert Spot thank you very much 😊 will try it and let you know 😉

If you were making a pavlova, is that the temperature and the length of time you would cook it for?
This is beautiful! Would make a really chic baby shower cake!
Do you suppose you could do thus with a 3 tiered wedding cake?
Hi Rosie. I need your help ... Can I frost a cake with white chocolate ganache as opposed to dark chocolate ganash before covering it with fondant? What would the proportion of white chocolate to cream be then?

Love it!
I guess that's a good idea if you want to stick flowers inside the cake. I'll try it :)
What cake recipe do you use for this video? I'm looking to make a four layer 6 inch vanilla cake but am unsure a tasty recipe to follow.
