Its funny because Rice coming to the Raiders was front page news on the chronicle and all over the media. But Charlie Garner made a huge impact for the Raiders too.

Raiders were good but they always had a top Elite team to play against in the AFC. In '98 it was the 14-2 Broncos who won the big one, then in 2000 it was the Ravens, then in 2001 it was the Pats. Our best chance to finally win one was in 2001 or 2002 but we got cheated then Davis traded Chucky to the team who beat us.

The Raiders also had a lot of great defensive players too in that era. Charles and Rod Woodson, Biekert, Eric Allen, Sam Adams, Darrell Russell, Reagan Upshaw...and an awesome O Line
