    My dog likes to eat way too fast & she ends up with digestive issues. Since switching her to a raw diet I do big chunks & it forces her to slow down & is so much better for her.

      Hi fishchick,
      That’s great news. Eating slower is very beneficial for them.

    Thank you. You are amazing. I have 5 raw fed dogs. 3 large dogs , a shitzu ( who thinks she is a kelpie ) and a chihuahua puppy. You are so right about size of food for size of the dogs. I feed the little ones their bone content with mince with bone in , chicken wings and necks. Would you have any other ideas for small dogs. Thank you so much for all your great information 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🐕🐕🐩🐶

      Hi Kathleen,
      Thanks for the support!! For small dogs, you can try rabbit, dehydrated organs or small rib bones.

    Good info thanks man. I have a chihuahua/minpin and she is intolerant to chicken unfortunately. What other meat (with bone) would you recommend? I want her to take her time eating.

      Hi AJ,
      It depends what your dog is allergic to. If all poultry is a problem, you can try rabbit, fish, beef ribs, etc. It’s very important to understand exactly what your dog is intolerant of, so that you can find an alternative that works.
      Hope that helps!

      Raw chicken bones are fine. COOKED bones are brittle and sharp. Keep all your bones raw. Thanks for watching!

    Thank you for your informative video. It really helps. Our GS weighs 86 lbs right now, she should be around 75lbs. How much should I feed her? Thanks!

      Use 2% of 70lbs for a daily weight to feed them. The weight should come off slowly with the addition of more exercise and no treats.

    How many pounds should a 200 lb dog eat ?

    • @thetorontodogwhispereraka-7115
      @thetorontodogwhispereraka-7115  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A good starting point for an average healthy adult dog is 2% of body weight per day. So 4lbs per day for a starting point.

    Arnt chicken bones such as the legs/ drum sticks bad to give your dog because they splinter out and could puncture their insides. ?

      Raw chicken bones are fine, cooked bones are brittle. Stick with raw bones and you’ll be fine.

      Sorry to hear that. Sometimes it can be that they are already full before eating a wing. Try cutting it up into smaller pieces or mincing the wings in a blender or food processor.

    Hi.. I’m new to your channel so I’m sorry for the late comment. Now I have question! I don’t have a dog yet but we are in the process of getting a puppy. So when we get the puppy we I will start with raw diet from the start and my question is how do we do if we need to leave the dog in the doggy daycare? I see little bit of problems when it comes to feeding raw I need to provide the daycare with the food for whole period the dog will be there. Do they have facilities to storage the food are they willing to take the food I’m bringing. How to solve those obstacles? Thank you so much for great content you are putting out for us..

    • @thetorontodogwhispereraka-7115
      @thetorontodogwhispereraka-7115  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Sasha,
      Your daycare should have a fridge to store raw food. The other option is to feed your puppy before and after day care.
      Thanks for watching!

    • @SashaAndrijevic
      @SashaAndrijevic 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for a quick respond. I was thinking more if you are flying with the family to a vacation and you would be gone for 4-5 days. Daily visits to the daycare will not make big issue but longer once would if the daycares can’t provide the storage for the meals. Once again I watched couple of your videos and I’m learning a lot so thank you..

    • @thetorontodogwhispereraka-7115
      @thetorontodogwhispereraka-7115  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SashaAndrijevic Hi Sasha,
      Even 4-5 days of raw isn’t much for the daycare to store while you’re away. It’s very common for dogs to have a raw diet. Talk to your day care before you’re going to be away and let them know you will need a fridge for storing the raw diet. If they can’t then consider a different day care or find family/friends to leave your puppy with.
      Thanks.

    So with leg quarters I give my dog 80% & 20% organs?

    • @richfierro868
      @richfierro868 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know 80% meat 10% bones & organs so with leg quarters already have bones do I I do 90% of leg quarters & 10% organ/liver?
      Does it matter if the food haves to be organic ?

    • @thetorontodogwhispereraka-7115
      @thetorontodogwhispereraka-7115  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Organs are usually 10 or 15%

    • @thetorontodogwhispereraka-7115
      @thetorontodogwhispereraka-7115  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@richfierro868 Organic is not needed for your dog as human quality meats are far superior to the stuff they use in kibble. However if you have a really small dog, the cost difference for organic won’t be too much.
