You guys kicked ASS on this, and righted a historic wrong by actually filming it in Seattle! Thanks for all you do!
Still like Norfolk, Virginia's "Uptown Funk" better. This has slick editing and more participants, but Norfolk did theirs in one continuous shot, without cuts. Very hard to do.
This was such an excellent production! ❤️ (It’s the only police lip sync challenge video I’ve shared on social media and I am not biased, as I live on the other side of the country). I can only imagine how difficult it was to coordinate everything and everyone involved in this project. At first, everyone had to study Macklemore’s video and memorize the lyrics. Then there was the task of reproducing much of the original scenes. You had to get clearance for the use of Safeco Field, Pike Place, etc., while fitting the filming into the tight date/time allotments they provided. Then you needed to gather hundreds of people together for lip synching, dancing, etc. You even managed to sneak in celebs like King Felix and Lenny (among others) for cameos! I know this production had to be done during the mutual *free time* of everyone who volunteered to appear. (To the commenters wondering if their “tax dollars” funded this 🙄, ALL of the nationwide police lip sync videos were created, directed, filmed and produced by people *donating* their off-duty and free time to the projects). This production was certainly no easy task, but the finished product is professional-grade and so engaging! I’ve watched it over and over. 😊 It was well worth all the hard work. In my opinion, Seattle definitely WON the lip sync challenge! Congrats to the SPD, SFD, and the people of Seattle!

One of the best pieces of subtle shade in the video was the fact Norfolk PD challenged Seattle and they threw in 3 former Norfolk officers with their old NPD uniforms and items at the “you don’t want no beef boy” line. Classic.

I've been watching all the lip synch challenges and this one is BY FAR is the best. They look like they're having a blast and involved the community. I watch it at least once a day and it never fails to put me in a good mood and make me smile. I watched the interview for all these amazing people and they seem pretty awesome.
I love this song and decided to watch it this morning which led me to this awesome lip sync video! I lived in Seattle during the grunge years (91-96), what a fun video and so nice to see so many places around Seattle. When I am having a bad day I will come back and watch again.
This video proves that despite a lot of citizens disagreeing with law enforcement they still understand the risks they take to protect communities. If anyone disliked this video they pretty much disliked a majority of Seattle seeing as dang near two or three neighborhood worth of ppl showed up to participate and support their local emergency departments

The 'Sleepless in Seattle' reference always crax me up. ---------------------- Ive watched this video a thousand times, it truly is a love letter to the people, diverse ethos and the whole city of Seattle, even tho it is set in the downtown area. (There is even a personal reference for me in here, there are 2 Evanston Township HS classmates of mine who are SPD officers in this video.) This brings a teary smile to my face every damned time I watch it.

There is still a cost barrier to it though. I know most departments that don't have giant budgets aren't willing to do one because of the price tag.
