One of my favorite tanks! The camo makes it extra fun to play, and I keep an alternate spotting/CVS setup. Works great in matchups with no/few lights! I more or less understood the spotting mechanics, but not to this level of detail. Thanks iyouxin!
Well, in a way they are broken, but not because of mechanics - more because of just bad map design. South side just has better bushes that are in a better position. Nice video Xin
south side has bigger advantege on this map expecially those bushes combined with cvs,so if they have a light there and u go into middle u just cant get out unspottwd
Those bushes on Fisherman's Bay used to work before CVS came into the game. I wish they would change the map. Getting stat checked by a guy with CVS, bond optics, and an 8 skill crew is not exactly engaging gameplay.

However, it would surprise me as it was an open field while I only peeked from behind cover with only one lane (then got spotted right away) and the light already got spotted on another location and had no view/range on me. Sometimes this game doesn't make sense though...
Happens, the better you get the easier it's to understand why you get spotted. Altho, with WG would have an option to make enemies unspotted in replays so you would see the whole picture, but yeah.. maybe one day
According to your WoT_Spotting Excel calculator, behind a 50% bush, with cammo 27%, without firing, you will get spotted with enemy CVS 20% in 182 m, with enemy CVS 15% in 172 m and with NO Enemy CVS in 142 m... That is not making any sense! So according to this Excel calculator it is better not to have CVS at all, and it is better to have 15% CVS than 20% CVS! Something is very wrong!
No, the values are correct. If the enemy has CVS he will spot you from further away ( e.g. 182m). If he doesn't have CVS he needs to get closer (e.g. 142m). So it's much easier to spot with CVS. Hope this helps :)
Well - you are wrong. You are assuming 450 m view range of the enemy. It may be much higher. That's why your "precise" calculations will give you just mean value (not even that, because it is hard to say what average view range is).
This calculation is an estimate but it gets you very close. Assuming 450m view range is a pretty safe bet in most cases. Even if the view range is higher it won't change much. You can try it yourself. The point of the document is to give you an idea of the distances at which you will get spotted, not to measure it down to the centimetre.
Iyouxin, if u did not know, the bushes where progetto played are broken AF. they are way stronger then any other bushes in the middle, u can just hide there with like an E 50 and still outspot LTs and bourrasques and stuff. It is why I never play where u where u played cuz if there is only 1 guy in the enemy team who knows what he is doing, ur basicly already dead or at least sitting ducks Edit: LOL only negative comments. I know what I am saying thoo, cuz I learned it from skilled CCs like Kajzoo and Skill4ltu. I do not credit myself for making one or another discovery. I am just putting the facts out there. Those bushes simply are way too strong. If there is someone who didn't know, consider this a good advice. If u really doubt this, u should try playing there urself, it is sooo fking powerful
confirmation bias. I easily outspoted tanks sitting in those bushes. You simply have outspoted lights that either put a tiny part of their tank out or had no camo skill

You are also denying Iyouxin who is more knowledgable about the game than you are. Seriously don't fall prey to bias. There are max camo values a bush can give you. So sure I 100% believe you outspot other tanks there. It's just not for the reason you think you do. It's enemy mistake, not magical bush. Seriously I am a light player first and foremost. When I get outspoted for a weird reason I don't understand I test things on training rooms with friends. So if you think the bush is magical test it in training room with a full skill manticore.

Actually, if u would ask CCs about some bushes being unbalanced inside the game, most CCs would acknowlegde and confirm that this problem does exist. To go even further, I could test this in training rooms and come to the conclusion that some bushes defy game mechanics. one of my T VIII TD's has 511 view and 62% camo as an example and I am constantly being out spotted and never see the tank spotting and shooting me no matter what it is - I have been spotted by arty's while they stay invisible many times now - all my tanks are now spotted every time I fire the gun no matter how many skills or camo it has - I have over 350 tanks and no longer have even one that I like to play - to me they are all the same these days - note: I have not finished watching this full vid yet -
camo is buggy or rigged in wot, whenever I deal a lot of dmg and got ace from previous game, the nxt one would be certainly almost sh1t game, rng will hammer me pretty bad, i even missed full aim 10 consecutive shots. i even noticed that their are game, although very rare that there are enemy tanks that are already visible even though noone spotted it. we would know if an enemy tanks are spotted because a light buld right beside its name will be lit if got spotted. and way way before there is a map for low tier like only tier 1 and 2 can play the spawning site are just well inside the maximum render but tier 1-2 tank has shit viewrange but for an unknown reason some enemy tanks are already visible even the game has not even started yet.
every tank have its hit box right? now what they dont tell you is that, theres a: 1. 2 view point 2. 9 detection point (iirc) that they have scatter around your tank, 4 for your hull, and 5 for your turret (turretless tank obviously have less) the 2 view point location are at your mantlet and your commander hatch. while the detection point are located at all for side of your hull and turret. the last one (9th) being located at the same position of you commander hatch too. this might seem so insignificant in the early game past few year. but now, with lots of tank being verry long and wide. exposing you detection point has never been easier. and this is why i love amx 30 for its tall comander hatch, you can spot while only giving a smaller target, smaller than even 90, for them to blind shot. edit: also the one spoting you for the 2nd time was progetto, who alternating between two bush located at E4 and E5. he cant see you are there when you shoot at him, but certainly know youre there. thats why he point hes mantlet toward you.

I would recommend to download the spread sheet and play with the numbers a little bit. It all makes sense in the end :)

CVS and CSV means waht? The list is hard to understand for someone that is not deep into wot, is there an explanation for the excel file?
CVS stands for Commander's Vision System, CSV is a typo.
