Ihsahn's and Alkaloid's new albums are at the top my list so far but I'm sure this will sit there with them given how great Emergence was.
I keep coming back to this track, to this journey.

This masterful song becomes almost shamanic from the 7th minute, it's almost bewitching, a large scale solo, magical and transporting.
We find that in Insomnium, a metal sometimes rough and sometimes at the doors of the beyond, something abyssal, frightening and reassuring at the same time, something like Death?

@@astrid5161 Not sure. I did end up putting into dislikes since the track wasn't that much into my liking when taking everything into account, but if the track is coherently pieced together and sounds good it doesn't matter to me if it's a very long one.
If anything, a longer track enables me to listen to the goodness with less replaying, which is always welcome. Which helps cuz I won't have to manually make a long one, although that's so simple a toddler can do it.

What other Symphonic Black Bands can you recomment to me as a Black Metal newbie?
You may try Covenant-Bringer of the sixth sun ,Cradle of Filth-Queen of winter, Emperor-Thus spake..,Satyricon-Mother North .These are not so symphonic but sure are classics
Be'Lakor, Caladan Brood, Hecate Enthroned, Insomnium, Swallow the Sun, Sulphur Aeon
Hallien Astareal They're melodeath, but I'd strongly recommend them for fans of this as well!
