I am so EXCITED to see the final results! So appreciative of you taking us along on the journey and braving the camera daily. I’m in the process of binging weeks of your videos as I’ve been out of the country. I’m really enjoying seeing your new purchases and looks that you have created. Missed having you as part of my routine.
I have had two laser treatments with a third scheduled a week from now. I am having a combo. V-beam for vessels and laseMD for pigmentation. I am 70 and have abused my skin for decades. I Don’t expect to look 40 again. But I am pleased with the new texture and consistency of color.
I just wanted to thank you for taking us along with you on this journey. I've referred to this video several times, both before deciding to get treatment, and after to see if I was progressing normally. And THANK YOU for recommending the Alastin post-procedure care kit! The office I went to included a very small amount of after-care products (which I suspected they might) so I bought the care kit before I went in. I feel it's made a world of difference in caring for my skin while it's in this delicate, healing state. Once again, thank you!
Thank you for this incredibly helpful video of your recovery. I am 72 hrs post recovery (is that Day 3 or 4? IDK!) after having a BBL/HALO in the late afternoon on Thursday, and since I am hoping to play tennis indoors on Wednesday, I went looking for advise on TH-cam about recovery time because I am NOT ready to be seen in public right now! I had BBL and Halo done, same as you and am still very swollen, and the MENS! OMG, they are crazy! But the underlying redness is also bad. My skin burned like crazy for 2-3 hours after the treatment, and I was very thankful that the office gave me a tiny fan to use. I bought some cooling spray as well and that combined with the fan was on my face for what seemed like hours after. But I am so hopeful that this will all be worth it! Your results look great! I wish my tech had done my eyelid hoods though! And gone more up under my eye, esp bc that is where I see crepiness in skin texture. I love Alastin products and wish I had the serum handy. All I got from the tech was some hydrocortisone cream/moisturizer combo that she said to use for 3 days only. Wondering if you would have a Halo again, perhaps one a year? Some TH-camrs have recommended this... but seems like it might be aggressive to me.
If I were you, I might skip the tennis for a bit longer. I can't recall - but I think it was closer to 7-9 days before every single MENDS fell off. The recover is so important and sets you up for success - so lay low and wear sunscreen! You'll be back to your regular program and activities soon enough. I would absolutely do this once a year or maybe every two years at my age. I think for younger women - say mid 30's to mid 50's, do it once every 4-5 years. Everyone is different - but for me, my skin tone and sun damage, etc., that would have been a nice program.
Wow, what a fantastic video. I've never seen anyone show a procedure like this. You are amazing, & look so good at the end, can't wait for next episode !!
My friend you are the gold standard❤ I found you on this video because we are similar, and I wanted to see what someone who looks like me, thought of these treatments. Nothing out there compares to your review. Sincere thanks ❤
Really interesting! Gosh it seems like a lot of difficulty. I hope the results are worth it and I’m looking forward to your before & after video as well as a longer explanation of what you had done. I haven’t had any cosmetic procedures except I had some moles removed from my chin. They scarred so I went back for laser treatment and it hurt so bad I never went back for more. I think I have low pain tolerance. Anyhoo, I’m getting to the age where I feel like I might need more than just good skin products to look my best and I really appreciate you taking us on this journey with you!
It shouldn’t fucking hurt, they should have given you EMLA cream or better. At the very least, they should have offered a Tylenol. Was this an actual doctor or an aesthetician?

Thank you for all of the info. I did have a laser treatment a couple of years ago and loved my skin after healing but I found the procedure very painful. I suppose you are going to address the specifics of the procedures going forward. You look great.
Yes. In a few weeks I'll go over the specs, what the laser proclaims, what I was looking to accomplish, etc. I may have a high tolerance for pain - for me, it was the WAITING that killed me. It truly does take a full week and there's no cheating that.
I watched this on day 2 of my BBL/Halo treatment. One thing I noticed today was how much my face itches. The swelling is pretty bad. It's hard to be patient when you want all the mends off your face. Ugh. I work in retail so I have to bring this face to work on day 4. Thanks to Covid I'll just wear a mask in the meantime. 😊

I'm new to your channel and found this video very helpful and informative. Just yesterday I canceled a fraxel laser appointment because I was just not confident that my skin would handle it well and I was afraid that I would have long-lasting redness. I'm not seeing a follow-up video yet so I was wondering when you plan on doing that? I am really curious to see how you feel now, four months later. Also, could I ask how much this procedure cost? I know it varies by where you live but mine was going to cost $2,400. I just want to make sure that is worth it versus some really good long-term skincare. Thanks and I look forward to perusing your channel and watching more videos!
It's on the list of of videos I need to/want to do. I have to get in touch with my Dr to get some details so I can provide really solid information. I can tell you that Halo can be tuned more towards collagen production vs resurfacing and vice versa. I wanted more collagen since I'm so late to the retin game. I am happy with the result. The cost was $1,700.
Fantastic video. I’m so glad to subscribe to your channel 🥰 The fairer the skin the more the swelling. The laser goes really aggressive on fair skin. I think Drs underestimate the pink fair skin types and though they use lesser settings they still get us hard. I’m so swollen too. Can’t see my eyes or my nose
Don't worry - the swelling will go down. My provided called me the day after to check in and I sent her a few photos along the way. Everything was as expected as far as she was concerned!! Hope you love the results!
You can, but the swelling part of the healing process, it's the damage and reaction to the damage that sets off the cascade of healing... ie, collagen and elastin production. If you're very uncomfortable - go ahead, but I stayed away from anti- histamines myself
Curious if you took prednisone and valtrex for your halo? My doctor prescribed both of them to me for the procedure. It is my first halo but she said this was standard for everyone who gets a halo at their office.
I'm so bad! I have shot it but now I have to good through my b-roll and do finishing touches! Will be soon! Maybe next time it rains I'll take that downtime to finish it up!
Wow Kiki! Your skin looks beautiful! I don’t think I could ever do that due to my fur baby! I take him out to potty at least 10 times a day and he always needs a walk. He’s 8 pounds of energy (Maltese) and I live on the 3rd of my apartment ( no elevator) so yep, that procedure is definitely not in my future anytime soon! Kudos to you my friend!🥰👍🌈🦋🌻🌻🌻
Im new to your channel - referred by Tamara Timeless Beauty 😊. Never heard of these procedures and not quite sure what the vinegar and water was used for on your face, why? Your skin looks really nice
Welcome! I'm not sure why. That what the nurse told me and she may have told me why at the time, but I forgot. I'll be seeing the Dr again the first week of December and will get more details!
Hi! I am on day 5 of mine and have a lot of mends. When I put mineral sun screen on it’s really hard to wash off at night because it gets stuck in the mends, was it the same for you?
A little bit - but the sunscreen I used wasn't one of the more sticky one (I find most mineral sunscreen have a thick sticky nature to them). Consider getting Alastin (either formula). Meanwhile just be very gentle when washing it off at night - better to go in a few times and let the RINSING do the job, rather than being aggressive with your hands on your face. I demonstrated how I cleaned my face in the video.
Very soon. I have my notes done and asked my Dr to go over them to make sure I have the details right. I'm just thinking about the format right now as I have a lot of information - so might do in two parts - otherwise, this could be a 40 minute video!
@@TheHoodedLid Day 2 is similar to swallowing a few bees. I did take an antihistamine, some Pepcid and pain relief. I also paid ransom to the bees with a lifetime jug of honey.....so they are gone now. Day 3 feels like a miracle day. I will take dry, flaky skin any day.
Since you look exactly the same in the beginning and the end, I'd suggest using before and after pics bcz it seems it didn't make any difference after all that

The halo killed my face.. The texture of my skin has never been the same. I lost volume too. It was devastating.Be very ca❤reful..it's your FACE ❤
Fantastic video. I’m so glad to subscribe to your channel 🥰
The fairer the skin the more the swelling.
I can't find your follow up video. What is the title? Thanks.
Did they say you could take anything for he swelling maybe Claritin ?? Doing both of those procedures in a month
You can, but the swelling part of the healing process, it's the damage and reaction to the damage that sets off the cascade of healing... ie, collagen and elastin production. If you're very uncomfortable - go ahead, but I stayed away from anti- histamines myself
Great video! What lipstick is this? 😍
I don't think I was wearing one!
This is an informative video . Thank you
You're welcome
What is the "mens"? I just had bbl and Halo and you mentioned things I was not told.
MENDS = microscopic epidermal necrotic debris
Did you redness primarily come from the BBL or Halo laser?
I think the Halo, only because of other photos I've seen of people who only did the HALO.
Curious if you took prednisone and valtrex for your halo? My doctor prescribed both of them to me for the procedure. It is my first halo but she said this was standard for everyone who gets a halo at their office.
No, they didn't give me anything. But the operator was a nurse...it's possible if I had the Dr to it, he might have.
Jesus I thought you were the same/similar age as me at 45 you look amazing
Like the off center part
Thanks!
Fantastic video!!! Thank you!!!
Did you ever do an update video? I can’t find it
I'm so bad! I have shot it but now I have to good through my b-roll and do finishing touches! Will be soon! Maybe next time it rains I'll take that downtime to finish it up!
@@TheHoodedLid can you please post that follow up video?
I'll be seeing the Dr again the first week of December and will get more details!
ia bbl and halo the same?
@@TheHoodedLid thank you so much!
Did you post the final results and if it was worth it?
Would you recommend this treatment ? Both of them. Will you have again ?
YES and I do want to do another!
When is the update video coming out?
Very soon. I have my notes done and asked my Dr to go over them to make sure I have the details right. I'm just thinking about the format right now as I have a lot of information - so might do in two parts - otherwise, this could be a 40 minute video!
Thank you! :)
Very Helpful
You speak of MENDS. I don’t know what MENDS are, and I feel silly for not knowing. I feel like I should know. 🧐
I think mends might equal scabs or scabbing? I’m also interested in knowing because I haven’t heard the term either.
Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris
@@TheHoodedLid I don't know what I expected it to mean but it was that lol.
They are tiny scabs
Which one did you think was best which would you choose if you could only use one ?
HALO 100%.
Did you take anything for the swelling? My eye puff is off the charts on Day 2.
I didn't - I just lived with it - but an antihistimine will help.
Since you look exactly the same in the beginning and the end, I'd suggest using before and after pics bcz it seems it didn't make any difference after all that
Where did you have your procedure. Would you recommend them?
Yes! Ocean Cosmetic Medicine in Santa Monica, CA
How painful was the treatment?
Not very. I have a high pain threshold - but I was numbed. The "sunburn" feeling afterwards was a bit intense tho.
Did they burn your neck?
No - they didn't do my neck at all. I have redness on my neck
What is the product u used
For what?
Oh wow…
Most definitely have to think about getting zapped…
HOLY CRAP you look good…mi had no idea you weren’t wearing a full face of makeup or that you were swollen… 😳
Lol I delete my videos all the time because I don't shut up..
