i bought the live 2 and i think i never ever need another mpc. that thing is so powerful. for me its more than enough. maybe i get me a used x one day. i´m having an eye on the used market. i can get a used mpc x in top condition for around 800-900 and when a new xl comes out maybe the prices drop below 800... :D
This is what I expect the new Live III (if it exists) to have that vintage devices don’t. New capacitors and displays that don’t need to serviced in the near term. If I’m naked, wanting to by clothes is consumerism. It’s wanting to be warm. I run into RAM limitations often enough. The great thing is it’s my money that I earn. I spend a lot more on a vacation than on a MPC and can argue it’s money better spent. Each one decides for themselves cost and benefits.
I’m a masculine guy…got the mk3 and maschine studio…I always wanted a mpc when I was younger, before I actually started producing but it was a software game by the time I started producing and I just haven’t been a huge fan of the mod software but never say never
I started off with the 2000 which is still one of my favorites…had the xl and the 2500 and they were cool but the mpc x is on another level in my opinion… the flips and possibilities is crazy dope…I think the nu XL is like the wagoneer suv being reintroduced…it was such a good product that they had to redo it and bring it out again for the newer generation to experience…just my take… peace ✅
Now that we know what the new XL will contain...I'm not sure if it was even worth making lol. Its basically the MPC Keys in the form factor of the MPC-X
They definitely can add more ram and memory. As far as the lay out the MPC X is pretty spot on. More ins at outs would be dope. Software wise maybe disk streaming and the arrangement view. The software inside the MPC's already does so much . from my purview that's about all they can do
Facts…I try to tell producers this all the time. Its not the gear lol.And this the kicker, the sound of the older mpcs sound better 😂. Now the new ones are basically daws but to each his own.Keep banging in whatever you have, just master what you have 1st before you “upgrade” your gear or setup.
@Haze Entertainment gear doesn't make music, people do. The gear choice is specific to the individual and what kind of music they make. Again people make music not gear.
All the serious Akai products need more CPU and Memory so they can run better effect plug-ins. It needs more cvTools to play and modulate Eurorack nodules. I may not get a MPC XL, I’m more interested in a FORCE XL.
When they make new mpc's for the most part it's for ppl who haven't had one yet so they keep a new one us old heads know already they don't so they will be quick to jump on this
most people who have never owned one aren't gonna make this their first one by simple fact of what it will cost. Some who will have the money might do it but most folk won't.. especially since you can get a MPC one and they'll lower the price of the Live 2 soon 👍🏾
@@SoundstarMusic Not much, since I can use the desktop software when stand along resources run out. IMO, MPC needs more house power for the additional virtual instruments and I hear the 61 key can use more power. + we want them to load instantly. It would be insane if they can license apples M2 Pro silica
Just use "bounce to audio sample" once you happy with the melodies you came up with when using the new plugin instruments to free up processing power within the MPC 😎
@@MakingMadBeats Thx, Bc, I bought the MPC Instrument collection & using about 5 of there VST's I get the Maxed out ram warning. Now that they released 2.11.8 update, this should work. The old version, bouncing to audio would freeze the MPC.
I figure they'll probably make it right for leaving the Coax Digital I/O off the MPC X....🥳🤩🥳 I hope they rename it The MPC X2 aka XSquared... #GreatVidBro...🎥🎬🎥
Yeah I'm viewing this as a "I want it" type of device because the classic MPC's along with the new ones pretty handle all anybody would ever need in a drum machine/sampler as that is how just about everyone uses them. 👍🏾
I'm not going to get it I have the live and the X and still in the process of of trying to master both of these machines. I'm just scratching the surface on these two powerful MPC's.
I think the real issue is onboard memory. Suppose to come with 32gb of ram...I hope expandable to 128gb...if it's not that...then...I mean it's not worth it.
If they make it an actual flagship device, yeah. If it has flagship processing ability and hands on control, yeah. But if it is a marginal upgrade like the Keys then no
@@SoundstarMusic Yes. Unfortunately. Like how the only real upgrades the Keys has over the Live II is slightly better processing, The XL seems to have only slightly better processing than the X. It would be nice if Akai could stop dropping the ball
I got rid of my 2500 for the renaissance. And regret it. Still till this day it don’t load 2500 or 1000 projects properly,Evan in 2.0 software. But it does have that 1200 ring and mpc60 bit so I’ll hold onto it. Only reason I got it was to better the sound and sequencing I had made on the older machines but it’s a hassle and still haven’t. But stuck on getting the x or the new xl because my mv is getting tired, jog wheel starting to act funny. I feel like everyone who got the ren was left in the dark and still can’t operate on its own. Now that would be the shit standalone with the vsts inside. But the layout on the newer machines screen seems more fluent compared to the ren Evan tho like you said it’s simple to use. I’d like it to be more like fl in a way how song mode works, skip the whole pattern thing but still have it available for chopping samples. But the song flow of fl. Get your melody 8 or 16 bar you know you want threw out copy paste whole length of song. And the counter melody to just be able to record in the song as a track so you don’t have to go back and edit to make chage ups as if you only made a sequence with it and you where putting it in order. Idk just my opinion,I honestly don’t know how to use the software properly because I haven’t used it. It’s a cluster. You have tracks, subs, ect. Already all in there it’s intimidating. When that guy stop doing the Mpc university videos I gave up on the ren.
@@truelionofjudah4097 Waiting to see if the xl is good. I didn’t jump on the x because of the ren issue. And to be honest I’m running out of space. I have two pieces of equipment that I have no room to hook up. I still have my hardware so my sound is still dirty if I make a pack.
I mean I guess if someone was into all that but more so from a gear perspective I'm not sure what more value it can bring to a person's workflow process or creativity.. imo 🤷🏾♂
@@eddie_arcadia Oh I agree I'm just saying the X, Live II nor the MPC one are old and are still capable of doing what a "new" person coming in wants to do musically. I had a 60 MKI but now just have my 2KXL and 4K. I stopped after the 4K because I honestly couldn't see myself needing to do anything more musically that either box couldn't handle. I like the MPC beats software as well and I use that to sample from sometimes and even make full tracks in because it has a similar MPC style workflow to it. I agree about the workhorse piece which is why OLD IS GOLD! Thanks for watching 🙏🏾
I usually wait at least 1-2 years when the price goes down and the software bugs get fixed , then maybe
