    I would say that another nice thing to have would be menstral products. Not everyone is regular and knows when they are due to have a period.

    This may be TMI, but I also like to provide a new/clean plunger. Not so fun to have to ask your host where their plunger is in an emergency :) This is a great video, thanks for sharing!

    My must-have for our hall bathroom is a little basket of feminine hygiene items. There is nothing more awkward than unexpectedly starting your period at someone's house and not having anything on hand, then having to go ask for help. This has happened to me more times than I'd like, so I keep a cute little basket with a variety of tampons and pads for all levels of period flow on the shelf behind the toilet so it's easily accessible. There are also single use feminine wipes in that basket.

      Yeah. I have mine in a little drawer next to the toilet with extra toilet paper and a couple of magazines. It’s not like they expire.

    This is awesome ! The only thing I would suggest is Feminine Hygiene products , Both tampons and pads . I’ve totally been at someone’s house and started and felt awkward asking if they had anything . And also I always have extra toothbrushes just from the dollar store incase someone forgets .

    Awesome list! The other little thing I would add is a tiny first aid kit - with simple things like pain reliever and band aids. Just in case they’re needed.

    Having a little section for meds is helpful! Some aleve, anti-diarrheal, tums, and Benadryl is probably good. And maybe contact solution

    • @pinkmagicali
      @pinkmagicali 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I added that. You can get individual use items. I also added a guide in the guest room which says what’s in the cupboard so people know without having to ask me and it has a message on it saying it’s fine to use anything if needed because sometimes people feel awkward about using stuff without being told it’s ok. I always leave things in original packets so people can check use by dates if they feel they want to.

    A little tip for your lack of counterspace: I went to a friend's house for a direct sales party and the sink in their guest bathroom was like yours. She had attached a little fold-down table to the side that extended over the toilet a bit when put up. It was out of the way and out of sight when not in use but gave a little extra room to put items when getting ready. I, being there for a party, had no need for it but I thought it was a neat way to expand the countertop.

    • @pinkmagicali
      @pinkmagicali 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can also get sink covers online too which turn a bathroom sink into a bench. They fold or roll up when not in use.

    Great video!! I would suggest a set of dark towels and washcloths too. Like some of the ladies mentioned, an unexpected period happens and at least with darker towels, there won't be the noticeable "Scarlet Letter", lol!!

    Not to gross you out, but might I suggest putting a supply of sanitary napkins/feminine items with some small disposable bags for personal soiled items along with some Clorox wipes to make available in the guest bathroom. I cannot tell you how many times I have had female guests come to visit for a couple of days and they go into the bathroom and discovered they have started menstruating and didn’t have their own personal supply of feminine items handy and we had to make an emergency run to the drug store to purchase these items in the middle of the night. So lesson learned, I always keep a supply of feminine items in the guest bathroom and guest bedroom for those unexpected emergencies and also Clorox or Lysol wipes in the bathroom for any embarrassing accidental leaks on the toilet seat. I also keep plastic protective mattress covering and cotton mattress covers on the mattress in the guest bedroom for the same reasons. I once had a house guest put her used sanitary napkin under the bathroom sink because she was too embarrassed to put it in the trash where others could possibly see it. After she had gone, I had shockingly discovered it upon my weekly cleaning routine after wondering what was that strange smell in the guest bathroom. There was also an incident where a house guest clogged the toilet trying to flush a napkin down the toilet. Also I keep special towels for my guests to sit on during their cycle so that they don’t accidentally soil the sofa or other pieces of furniture. I now keep a supply of cottonelle flushable hygiene wipes in the guest bathroom along with air refresher the guests can spray in the event they have to do number 2, and I even have a small supply of adult diapers for emergencies for any guests who may have medical issues with urinary incontinence. I also keep a ⛑ First Aid Kit in the guest bathroom and a small supply of over the counter medicine for my guest bathroom medicine chest.

    I am seriously lacking in this area! We only have 1 extra bathroom that my 3 kids share (2 of which are young boys) so keeping the bathroom spotless is a chore even without guests! But we don't have guests very often but I definitely need to up my a-game here!

    Nice bathroom! We have all that you mentioned too minus the hairdryer and candle, fire hazard..... and we spend our days upstairs.
    Our washer and dryer is also in our guest bathroom so they are free to wash their clothes if they choose. Our guest bath has a closet that contains our water heater and water softener. Those closet doors are mirrored, I didn't like that at first, but it works for a large mirror for the guest. When I originally stocked our guest bath I purchased only white towels and cloths so I could bleach them. Well, the first company we had were my parents and my mother informed me that we really needed dark colored towels and such. Hint hint.... So I purchased a dark blue set as well. We now have a white towel set and a dark blue towel set and I have noticed that out of all the guests we have they ALL use the dark set.
    The top of the sink has an empty toothbrush holder, bar soap with dish, and a pump bottle of liquid soap.
    Our sink cabinet also has 2 drawers. I keep the top drawer empty to house the guest's things and the bottom drawer houses extras such as toothbrushes with travel cases, toothpaste, lotion, razors, eyeglass cleaner & rag, and new combs. Under the sink houses extra toilet paper, feminine products of all kinds and sizes, static guard, lint roller, extra shampoo and soaps, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and hair spray.
    We have a shelf that has a cute clear double stacked container; the top container holds a manicure set while the bottom container holds cotton balls and q-tips.
    Thanks for sharing, it's a very nice bathroom. Have a great day.

    The trash can is still merging that some just don’t think about!! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been on my lovely cycle and gone to the bathroom in someone’s house and there was no trash can!! The most awkward uncomfortable thing ever!!

    Maybe I’m the only one that needs to do their makeup closer up but I always use a stand-alone vanity mirror on my vanity, one of those double sided ones where on one side it’s a normal mirror but when flipped it zooms in on your face! I always feel so awkward when staying at someone’s house, forgetting a compact, and having to slap makeup on my face and hope for the best because I don’t have a great view! Definitely a must have for me! :)

    I have a few guests who come regularly, like my mum, and for those people I have a small plastic box and inside I have things specifically for them, like their own tooth brush, for one person I have a shampoo and conditioner which isn’t tested on animals because they really care about that, for one person they leave pyjamas at my place etc. It works really well if you have the same visitors over and over.
    I hope to have a place like yours one day. I get such cool ideas from your videos. I love making people feel comfortable and hopefully will have the space to do things like you one day. 😄

    One thing I have noticed with guests at my house is face towels. I don’t wear a lot of makeup and I wash my face in the shower so I do t usually think of those things. And also when I’ve been a guest is the lack of a plunger. I know it sounds silly, but the last thing I want to do in he case of an emergency is ask my host for a plunder and I’ve had to do that before. 😕
    I love your layout! It looks so cool!

    Ooh I hear you on the instructions! While on vacation recently, I was staying in an AirBnB cabin, which was essentially a guest cabin at someone’s home. The hosts emailed to make sure we brought groceries with us since there is nowhere nearby to go out to eat.
    We walked in and didn’t see a stove. We did find a hot plate which was really nice and it easily tucked away in the cabinet. We thought, we can totally figure this out! And then there was a certain combination of buttons you had to press to turn the safety lock off... instructions would have been a nice touch instead of guess and check, especially using someone else’s kitchen :)

    Blair you are beautiful! 💕💕. I always think of what guests might forget. I have a shower caddy with baby shampoo (good for all in a pinch), a razor, body wash, my extra conditioner. Extra tooth brush and toothpaste. A glass is good in the bathroom so folks don’t have to stick their face under the faucet😂😂👍. The meds comment was great! I often wake up in the night with a headache when changing climates. Finally some bandaids and triple antibiotic ointment. We gave a medicine cabinet. I put that stuff up top and leave the bottom shelf open. LOVE your vids. 💕💕.
