  • Penang’s Mall Food Tours: Exploring Gurney Paragon Mall & Gurney Plaza
    (No.1)
    Gurney Paragon Mall
One of the new malls along Gurney Drive, the mall was built around a heritage building of St Joseph Novitiate.
This mall is occupied with much tenants such as Jaya Grocer, BookXcess, TGV Cinemas, Sushi Zanmai, Flip Burger, Daiso, Nitori etc.
The environment inside is quiet with not much customers on weekdays, but on weekends it can get quite crowded. The air conditioning it seems to be very low, it was quite warm.
There are a variety of shops in the mall that caters to everyone’s needs (from expensive brand to the more affordable ones). We enjoyed shopping at H&M, Decathlon, Jaya Grocer and Book Excess. And dined at Hai Di Lao and Auntie Anne. The upscale shops are located at the lower levels and it seems the environment become more quiet and there are more vacant lots as we move up the levels. Parking is affordable.
