i remember trying to tell people that the dark moody stuff was the best back in the day. then they would run into the hardcore room as i went alone to see the room with a prog dj. LOL. they just didn't get it. now that i remember it you had to see these djs solo shows most the time hear this stuff back then.
Yeah... Its pretty much all I listen to. A little of the new stuff, but not much.

Bought this CD when it came out at a place that we used to get our rave tickets from in Denver called Soulflower! Lost CD long ago but still listenin in 2017 on youtube! Many memories! Feel good get shiz done or relax type of music!

When this came out it was panned a bit for whatever reasons of its lack of variation, but it is a resonant classic. It is on the darker side of an almost industrial nuance, but what makes it connect is that it is consistent in its progression drive. Every iteration drives it in relative consistency, which is not as common in many trance albums where the tendency is to fluctuate between lights and darks. I really like this album as one of my favorites among the Tranceport series.

This is dark, scary, Blair Witch kinda vibe. Not your techo, trying too hard vibe. Just pure unadulterated chunky, proggy, deep, dark and unashamedly house music from a bygone era. The album art actually sums up the content to a tee. Brilliant.

reminds me of when you could go to Limelight in NYC or Webster Hall and this continued thick bass deep dark shit would play crowds into a mix of subconsciousness and yet smiles and heads tileted back in pure sound bliss. As much as I sort of liked this back in the day (I even owned the Gardner and Thomas track in vinyl), it was already too dark for my taste, and in some ways it kinda precedes the awful dark techno that it's so popular nowadays in festivals (paired with cyber satanic imagery!). Having no funky. uplifiting, nostalgic, euphoric vibes, this type of music drowns you very quickly.
Just go to beatport, probs the biggest download site for music, goto prog house charts, and be absolutely sickened by the repulsive vile shite that they class as prog house. anything after 2007 goes in my book as sold out cheesy shite!!!! only a very very selected few pass. :-( This is what its all about. ;-)

Way back when, I started with Oakenfolds Essesntial selection double cd with Fat Boy Slim. Then Oakey's Tranceport cd. Loved it. TP 2, loved it. TP 3, Sandra Collins, Loved it. TP 5, this is the real shit I love. Deep, dark and dirty.

currently going through all those cds i spend thousands on back in the day and finding the single 12" records. kinda of a new hobby of mine i just started. the progressive sound was so good back then. didn't know how to find the singles back then and now the internet practically just delivers it all to my house. LOL. nothing current is good as these classics but i do like the new techy liquid drum and bass.

Wow. I can’t get enough of this dark and hypnotic prog house. It has so much depth and allure. I can’t stand the crap I hear being played by so many artists in their sets , meanwhile beautiful music like this goes largely unnoticed and forgotten. What happened to it ?…?? Why did we abandon it 😢?
