I still love foxy in original shape since my child hood but the above is beautifully made and restored. Since I have no purchase power just thinking to buy as and when feasible.
The one with Flat 6 Porsche engine I saw was in Karachi year 2004 it was Blue Super beetle that bug had breaking issues due to the power it was producing the owner was a commercial airline pilot

Engine: Buhat acha engine mila hy apko, mere khayal se ye dusri porsche engine swap beetle dekh rha hun main PAK myn
Wheels: Wheels agar original use kiye jatey tou bht behter lagta stance, infact pichley waley deep dish karwalete, usse bht acha look ata
Color: 2 tone color thyk hy, aur acha combination kia ja skta tha
Interior: Agar plaid designs use krte tou wo bht acha look deta

Iska apna engine iss leyay lag raha hai kyunke Porsche is actually derived out of VW , both have the same basic engine/layout therefore it's a stock fit. Porsche did move to 6 cylinders flat layout but that was later on , early ones were definitely 4 cylinder flat 4's , same engine as the Beetle.
This must be a super early Porsche motor but I'm now second guessing that it may not be a Porsche engine but a VW engine out of a VW bus , those came with 2.0 , 2.2l etc displacements

The beetle was designed by Ferdinand Porsche (founder of porsche) hence similar design theory , similar engine. The beetle was designed alongside therefore the early Porsches/beetles share a very similar design , the beetle seems like a classic slow car but believe me it is very sporty and competitive when you make some small changes , the handling is superb and so is the engine.

Porsche never has this 4 cylinder engine in 1974
Only 914 has 4cylinder engine
VW made high displacement engines use in boats for running generators waterpumps some machines only the # on the block can tell the actual displacement or to upgrade the engine by changing its cylinders with piston and heads
