I love puzzles so for me can be even 300+ more of them. But I would like to do them when I want, and not to be forced to do this amount of them during story when I just want to read. Story felt like addition to puzzles tbh, like some sort of event quest.
I like puzzles, so it was good to me. The puzzle event sucked though, mainly because they were simpler than those in exploration. Filler puzzles > filler dialogue.
The event was short... surprisingly. I finished in one sitting. There were worst events compared to this one. Both in length and how mind numbingly boring they were lol.
The problem for this patch is that they spent far too much on world building instead of writing a story. And the writer squished far too many foreshadowings, literally the most out off ALL open patches in ALL HOYOVERSE game.
@@sumsumplays Yes, and there are good ways to go about it and bad ways. Shoving hours of jargon down people's throats with black screens, static images and unexpressive character animations makes the whole thing a bland and boring chore. Even visual novels are more expressive with their visuals. And guess what? Even visual novels, which are essentially digital picture books, have a SKIP BUTTON.
People seem to forget, and it really is not excuse most of the time, but considering the bigger picture and the sheer scale of the story this time, it actually becomes a necessity. But this is the first patch of EIGHT (3.0-3.7) main story updates. World building is the foundation of any story, specially from a place that canonically no one knows a single thing about in the whole universe, not even a Genius Society member and Emanator of Erudition. They are laying the groundwork so that in the future everything progress smoothly. The issue is not the story but the players that don’t want to read, they want to rush to the “important” and cool bits as quick as possible and then clap at the circus performance in front of them. That is not how writing works, you can’t just beeline your way into every major event. Slow paced moments, world building and exposition are necessary before things pick up and you already know how everything works. Books, manga focusing on story or character writing, videogames and good VNs and LNs do it. Compared to Penacony (which was a pacing and character writing mess) Amphoreus has been doing a good job in those departments surprisingly. Players are just used to the usual Modern Hoyoverse, safe, sloppy and rushed writing. I understand that it is a gacha game but you don’t have to sit and finish everything in a single night. It should be a hobby, not a job.
@@Satyr42I honestly do think that Hoyoverse, more specifically HSR’s devs, should just compromise and add the skip button for people that have zero interest in the story. It should be the player’s choice whether they want to read or not. Not the devs’.
i agree. i get dizzy from the sheer amount of puzzles during the story, not because they're hard, but there were just too much, back to back. like i actually wanted to get back to the dialogues asap, cause i was genuinely enjoying the story
Exactly. If the puzzles were spread out or straight up reduced it would be fine, but 3 hours of straight puzzles? And in a city that values strength above all else? Huh?
Man I must be in the minority. I quite liked the story, fav so far. I also like puzzles. I just played like 30-45 min per day since the patch dropped and was fine. Maybe it would have been worse if I attempted all at once? Also Acheron’s technique is a must. Just eat technique point food and instant KO all enemies in map.
I only played the main story for a maximum of 1 hour a day so for me it wasn't that bad but even so the puzzles got repetitive quickly + I don't have Acheron so the combat got boring quickly and I just started running straight past enemies whenever I could. I feel like the biggest problem is that for every 1 puzzle that is genuinely fun and helps with world building you have 5 others that are just there to stretch out the quest.
Trust me, the people complaining about the story are the minority... All the people I know IRL or be it online friends say that the exploration during the story was too long and could have been separated, they loved and adored the story and yeah they don't care about the "STORY TELLING" as long as the story is good.
for me the worst thing is waiting for the doors to open, i thought the Penacony doors were annoying for taking forever to open, but the Amphoreus doors are 10x times worse. there's no need to have to wait so much for the doors to open when i want to explore the new map.
This patch is slightly overhated I feel. I think the problem is the story telling and not the story, the story is in fact pretty good (probably my favorite so far) but the yap fest was crazy. I don't mind the puzzles but a lot of puzzles combined with too much yapping is not a good combo. This patch was clearly not meant for people who wanted to speedrun or finish everything in one sitting, if you take 2-3 sessions, I don't think it's that bad
You'd think with hoyoverse having the ZZZ team learning from their mistakes, they would actually conversate and not have 50 puzzles that break immersion into the game but no bruh this how garbage HSR is rn
Hey bro, I've been noticing some comments being unnecessarily rude lately due to your topics being sensitive. Just wanted to say that they represent a very small minority and this community appreciates your voice. Even if people have the right to disagree, it isn't right to be hurtful to someone under a lot of scrutiny like content creators. Anyways, hope you have a good day
I agree with Gabimaru's videos the vast majority of the time and have never insulted him in anyway, but I will tell you to grow up. It's the internet. Anonymity provides a good excuse for people to vent their least pleasant personality traits and say the things they'd never dare to say in real life. While you may think that is a wrong thing to do, you can't really stop it either. The best way to go about things is to grow a spine and a pair of broad shoulders. Unless there is an organized and targeted effort to deliberately make someone's life miserable I think people would do well to learn to shrug it off and move on with their life. Being durable and unflinching like that can actually do wonders for your overall mental health. It's because of sensitive people who cannot deal with "mean words" that I have personally become more rude as a response. Sensitive people get on my nerves. You want free speech? Then you'll have to deal with things you do not like to hear as well. And yes that includes insults and other verbal vulgarity. People are going to say mean things to you. So grow a pair and deal with it.
Personally i liked it Spoiler: especially the stelaron past remembering, what i didn't like is aglea being an asshole, in first hand, other than that, mydei being as badass as he can be is total chills i was thinking if i should get 1 tribbie (i have guaranteed) and hope i win my 50/50 but nah, i get him and his lc
Yeah, i agree. I believe one of the main reasons as to why the main story quest took 10 FREAKING HOURS is because of how many filler puzzles they stuffed in. Amphoreus thus far has been 20% Peak 10% Environment and graphics 70% filler puzzles that take up far too much time. I understand that hoyo is trying to add more puzzles and gameplay mechanics with the introduction of a completely new arc, but this is seriously getting out of hand. I don't think i personally agree that Amphoreus' dialogue is mainly just filler, sure, their is definitely alot of filler dialogue, most of it just leading back to puzzle explanations and things that REALLY arent important to the main story like AT ALL, there's also so mcuh lore related dialogue to the point where the fillers can be excused. I also feel that since this is a new arc with completely new lore, it's understandable and even necessary to explain a bit of the background information regarding the planet. Amphoreus' situation right now is similar to that of Penacony's. The first patch starts off a bit rough, but eventually gets so much better, i can just FEEL it.
I like the puzzles, but if I didn't have Acheron I swear I would put this game down and only come back weeks later. My biggest problem was that they put so much stuff into the story that could have been left for later patches or even for an event. For exemple, it feels like the Herta segment was only there cause of her banner, when it could totally be the begining of the next story chapter.
I liked the puzzles, I never felt they were slog or anything. I liked the story too, the writing was fine. I don't mind their story telling PERSONALLY, but they definitely can do more for the budget they have. (I just take it as a story/visual novel game at this point) I didn't skip battles with Acheron because I wanted to see the new enemies and battle music, they still ended fast with my Firefly team. This patch finally felt like a traditional JRPG, it was fun for me. I think the problem comes from people not trying to enjoy and take their time. Instead they just want to rush to the end and get done with it, at that point why even play the game? if you don't enjoy something don't do it. I dropped the game at 2.5 and only came back for 3.0 because all the stories and events were boring as fck, it's not hard people. 🤷 And surprisingly I like the Amphoreus story so I'll stick if it's interesting to me. I'll give the patch a 7.5/10, it was good.
It does drag a little but I’m trying to be positive. This is the start of the story that spans eight patches after all, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for now. I’m fine with the black screen with text because it just shows the passage of time or moves the story forward and you don’t miss out on much (But I’d prefer if it was a static cg with the same text).
it seems like they are intentionally making the game have annoying elements exactly because they don't want people to create ALT accounts, these elements are more bearable when you only do them once, but its much much worse when you have an ALT account, this is why I gave up on my alt account, it will just result to burn out in the long run...
No it's to artificially increase player retention numbers because it looks good on financial reports. Didn't they teach you economics in school? If they did then you may want to file some complaints because they did a piss poor job a it.
@@27Ganon I sure hope you will never get into investment because you will bankrupt yourself. Player retention numbers are considered positive because it makes a product appear popular and in demand by customers.

I actually like the puzzles in Amphoreus for the most part, but MY GOD did they just spam that shit anytime they get to which practically makes this more of a puzzle game then anything, and I don't think people are playing this quest for that obviously. Is it really that hard to just make thier stories shorter with better presentation. Thats literally all I'm asking for at this point.
Some other people have said it, but I'd rather do the story first and then the puzzles later, like in an event. Forcing me to do 6 hours of puzzles just to get to the actual story is killing me. I'm still trying to finish so I can get enough rolls in time for THE Herta, but it's taking up my entire evenings.
HSR turns into puzzle game with a little bit of turn based combat, just like genshin went from action combat to tcg game. Hoyo, please focus on your main gameplay. The first event in 3.0 is this hypogeum enigma, another puzzle event. Even the very first event in ZZZ back then is snake game. If only they just focus more on their game main gameplay man....
Genshin had ONE TCG-focused event at the time it was introduced and after that it became something 100% optional that you can completely ignore if you don't want to play while the puzzles in HSR are MANDATORY to continue in the main story, which gets repetitive and boring FAST. Even ZZZ has at most one mini-game event per patch, meanwhile all other events are combat events
I really hope this isn't the standard for the rest of the Patches otherwise it will end up that even with a longer story half of it will just be filler which will negate the advantage of having 7 versions of the main story instead of just 3-4.
You know, after I tried out Arknights Enfield beta, I can’t help but feel a strong sense of regret for spending money on Honkai Star Rail. One of the main reasons games like Honkai Star Rail feel outdated is clear when you compare the cutscenes. In Arknights Enfield, characters interact physically with each other, no recycled idol poses, no black screens to avoid animating full 3D cutscenes, and no static JPEGs. It’s night and day. What blows my mind is that Arknights is also a gacha game. And that’s not even the best part of it. Honestly, I’m considering abandoning Honkai Star Rail once Arknights fully releases. The constant FOMO-driven power creep in Honkai Star Rail only strengthens that decision. If Hoyoverse keeps up with these exploitative business practices, in a year or two, the only players left will be the whales, those stuck in a sunk cost fallacy, and those still trapped by FOMO. I wouldn’t blame them though, or else it’ll be like blaming a kid for being born with a mental illness, FOMO in itself is a form of mental illness and Hoyoverse knows that, at the very least corporations like Bungie-even though exploits FOMO too-does a monthly mental health awareness for it.
I feel it's pointless to compare old phone games with newer ones. They have completely different scopes, of course Endfield will feel more advanced than HSR. The other day gacha smack was complaining the game looks like a ps1 game at times. Like bro, the game needs to run on medium to low end phones, how do you expect it to look like Wuwa or something (which infamously runs bad on phones).

hoyo needs to start powercreeping the pacing 😂
the fact that they’re stupidly easy and still take forever to do is horrible i genuinely cant bring myself to finish that damn puzzle event😭
The event was short... surprisingly. I finished in one sitting. There were worst events compared to this one. Both in length and how mind numbingly boring they were lol.
The big culprits are the Hand of Zagreus and the time Orbs. The goat platformer, spear, and shape tablet are less time consuming.
That shit took like 15 minutes.. for the ENTIRE event. I hope you don't do any other events in this game 💀
Only if you consider 15min to be forever. Maybe even 10min if they're considered stupidly easy to you.
