Last year I was listening to some open Yale lectures on "The Moral Foundations of Politics" and "Introduction to Political Philosophy". I'll listen again for the audio as I continue to edit this series. I had it rigged a little differently for this one. I tend to err on the side of mixing too loud since people can turn it down if they need to, but it's best when I can get it just right!

Tom, Please expand on the financial reasons why the 13 colonies wanted to leave The British Empire. It was more than only tax, which is commonly mentioned and written in mainstream history books. The colonies also wanted to leave the usury (interest) system of central banking which was forced on them. They weren't given much choice in major financial areas but had to often receive what was given to them from London. This is also true by extension in trade.
This particular lecture series is aligned with state history standards for high school - not quite like my other work, which is designed for students taking courses for college credit. I have to apologize to some members of my audience who are used to a little more depth. Just keep in mind when you see these EOC Review videos that they are aimed at a specific audience. This would be a topic worth delving into at another time, though.
I have a personal question. What side in the Civil War do you support and why? If you support the north, could I ask for a friendly debate as I am southern and I support the south.
This is a complex question. I plan to record some lectures about the American Civil War this year and will be curious to hear your thoughts on them. The problem with the way Americans look at the Civil War is that it's nearly always about supporting a side and far too seldom about analyzing the war from a variety of perspectives - including Confederate perspectives.

My family was from a Nobel family I guess. Thomas Norcross was married to the great great great granddaughter of Richard the 3rd Duke of York. Father to the King Edward 3rd. So Edward would be a great uncle. Thomas son Jeremiah Norcross went to Watertown in the 1600s and had 2 sons His son Richard was a teacher and my direct ancestor Nathaniel Norcross is in the statue for the founders of Watertown.
