  • My first mobile coffee station.
    I built this coffee bicycle,
    And suddenly coffee became a very big part of my life.
    I used to trade on Strand beach in South Africa.
    Blessed with a very supportive community.
    I learned almost everything there is to know.
    Looking back I miss it.
    Special thanks to my friend: Jan vd Merwe who assisted in some of the metal work.
    #coffee

    I have learned a lot from this your video. It'll help me build my pastry and soft drink vending bike.

      Thanks man. Recently I looked at the pictures of my self built espresso machine in the back of my old Landy and think it will make a great video.

    Very informative may I ask the size of the cart as I plan to build and one being able to carry the weight of around 150kg. Happy I came across your by video

      Hi,
      Sadly I don't have the cart anymore, but if my memory serve me correctly the box part was 700mm wide, 1000mm long and 850mm high.
      This excludes the front wheels and the back bicycle part.
      Besides the two drawers I had a sliding panel which I used to open when stocking the cart. However this was difficult to access when trading because it slide upwards. The drawers was not big enough and I suggest you add more accessible doors for the inside of the cart.

    May I ask how was the turning radius on your bike ?

    • @RupertFerreira
      @RupertFerreira  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jeremy,
      Empty turning was easy. One could easily turn the front part almost 90° when going slow.
      As mentioned I mostly pushed it due to the weight and I found it easier to pick the back part up and swing it over to maneuver the bicycle.
      Hope this helps.

      @@RupertFerreira my turning seems unstable. Maybe my front wheels are too far up to the front and need to be moved to the middle or to the back end of the cart. Perhaps my bearing isn’t perfectly parallel?

    • @RupertFerreira
      @RupertFerreira  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe the angle of the axle where the two join.

      Hi,
      Each bike is different. Mine was custom build and I knew it inside out.
      I can try to assist but will need more information.
      *what coffee machine does it have
      *how is it powered (electricity)
      This is the basics I will need.

      Hi Marc,
      Sorry I sold it some time ago when I relocated. But if you intent to build one you are welcome to ask questions on the build.

      Because I had some of the material I used to build it, I don't have the exact cost. But I would guess around five hundred Euro excluding labour cost.
