Oh look... no exo-suits, no fucking robots, no bullshit futuristic guns. Ah I remember back in the good old days of COD when it was the M1 Garand and not MX.
I miss the sound of the grenade being thrown at me and someone screams in German something just before :'(
I never played reg cod 2, I played big red one and loved it, I played the reg cod 2 demo and, it was amazing, getting the actual game both for 360 and pc.
imagine this game with the graphics of today
I think it would be better if battlefield did this instead of ww1, even though it's the only war bf hasn't done yet. I think they could do a awesome job, I've lost all faith in the cod franchise so I think someone else needs to.
+iBounce battlefield 1 ww1 next battlefield probably ww2 and no way they're gonna miss DDay in that!!
Shout out to all of the veterans who fought this war it is veterans day
-SERGEANT RANDAL! THE GUNS ARE GONE! THEY ARE NOT HERE!
- WHAT?!
-THE GUNS AREN'T HERE!
Favorite line of the whole game
I’m playing through the game on veteran and I must have heard that line about 75 times lmao I memorized it
I was so into this mission, that I forgot it was just a game.
steven landrum IKR! this is like a Movie and you feel you are into it even without VR!
How to unlock American campaign.plz help me. I have completed soviet and British campaign but in easy mode😢
I remember when I was 6 or 7, this was the first shooting game I ever played. My dad had it on PC, and I went to replay this mission and picked recruit difficulty. He was in the room when I did and just looked into my eyes and said: “the real soldiers didn’t get an easy mode” in the flattest, driest tone ever and walked off.
To this day I don’t know if that was meant as just a witty remark, a teaching moment, or if he was unironically ashamed that I was playing the D Day level on easy. That was literally the only time he was ever so monotone and blunt like that, so I’m not even sure if it’s a real memory, it might have been a really vivid dream. It’s a really weird memory whenever I think of it.
Today I visited the real pointe du hoc in France .It has been turned into a memorial with all the history. This mission is actually super accurate, it's exactly how it went IRL: the guns had been removed and replaced by wooden props because of allied aerial bombings and the fact the whole battery wasn't finished yet, so the cannons weren't protected. The troops were slaughtered by an AA gun once on top of the cliffs, and the Americans accidentally found the real cannons unmanned in a field very close and destroyed them with actual thermite grenades. They made a German AA bunker their command post. An American officer actually said "anyone who even gets close to the cliffs ought to get a medal" (not Sgt Randal, i don't remember his name, but it has been recorded). The boats and mounted rocket propelled grappling hooks are accurate. However, they didn't reach the top of the cliffs, so an higher rank took one and launched it from the shore. All these things really happened. The big craters from allied artillery are also accurate. The bunkers looked exactly like in the game. Even the German barrels really looked like that. If you are fond of WW2 history, it's definitely worth a visit.
The next mission is also historically accurate, they were pushed back to Pointe du Hoc because only 90 of the original 225 rangers were still combat capable. Then reinforcements arrived and they could push forward again. Amazing how they stayed so close to what actually happened, this game bring history to life in a way.
2:41 I can only imagine the horror of seeing this 5 feet in front of you, seeing your friends get slaughtered right before your eyes
I crushed my history class with an A. Thanks to this game right here.
People burning to death: T rating
One "f" word: M rating
American censorship is fucked.
CrystalSnake Hah. Tell that too all of the adults, who let 9-12 year old kids playing GTA V :) and that's not just a crack at Consoles. Because I have a Ps3 (Also a PC, and Xbox 360). Parent's don't care, sure there are exceptions but the vast majority doesn't care.
My granddad used to watch me play these missions and teach me about the history of the actual battle while i did, he was a Ranger himself though served in Vietnam. Lord rest his soul.
Back when I was a kid, I thought the first few moments were funny, but now looking back at it, it's terrifying.
17 years later and CoD 2 still has the most authentic beach landing in the series.
(World at War is a close second)
This is the most immersive mission in Call Of Duty, you get so lost into the chaos it feels like an interactive history lesson almost.
25 minutes of constant action. Well played. Great pacing of designers. This CoD scene is truly great.
1:56 “30 seconds Yanks! God be with you!” I wouldn’t be surprised if a British soldiers said that during the Normandy landings.
"Sergeant Randall! The guns are gone! They're not here!" A timeless favorite
For some reason, this is the most memorable D-Day depiction I’ve ever seen in a video game. Especially for just a T-rating, this seems more chaotic and terrifying than any other portrayal I’ve seen, even without the gore of the others. Incredibly well made, Infinity Ward outdid themselves with this game.
Now this is one of many moments that I, if I had gone to war, would not want to relive. This is terrifying. Dog Company sure put up a fight that day and only their sweat, footprints, and bullets remained as apart of their victory. All bless these rangers for their efforts. They learned to climb precipices as they practiced. No basics or manuals, just their hands and thats it.
i will love a remastered of this game
Pablo J. Ferri I would pre order it and Would not leave my room for 5weeks
I think the second world war games of CoD are better than the futurist shit of the actual CoD.
Sorry for my english.
I agree these were the type of call of duty games they should of stuck too and modern warfare I don't like futuristic games that much only ww2 or modern warfare games
+Carlos Daniel Davila Arce Thats why CoD 2 is wayyyy better than this blacks ops and ghosts shit
+Carlos Daniel Davila Arce That doesn't even make any sense. The old cod games are bare, and graphically inferior to the new ones.
Playing this mission for the first time, and hearing the loud guns made it so real and satisfying
The us is lucky to have an mlg pro in the army
@@gabenewell3955 you know what else is late? The supply of Valve index
@@gabenewell3955 well i dont think theirs soviet flag, Also China was in the Allies
Remember the good old days of Call of Duty being awesome gritty war games instead of shitty action games? those were great.
And then they made CoD WWII which contained scenes of heads, arms, even bodies being blown apart.
I can't even image what it was like to actually be there, these games give you just glimpse at the true horrors of war. The brave men that sacrificed their lives the the sake of freeing the world will forever be remembered.
"Let's go get the bastards!" Is my favorite line in the Call of Duty series. Prove me wrong!
The shellshocked cutscene gives me goosebumps
It’s PTSD, I get that thinking about saving private Ryan and I’m suddenly normal again
I'm a battlefield fan but this.... This is an ACTUAL competition against battlefield. Not like the new crappy ones.
I'm a fan of battlefield too, especially the fourth, but the ww2 cods r my bae
@@Warfan-sg7pu Ghost was actually pretty damn good. Cod and Pokémon are becoming the same thing. Fans complaining and bitching cause they didn't get exactly what they wanted. This comment section is a pretty good example
LOL I played this game multiple times even with veteran mode and never went through the tunnels and it seems I skipped a lot of fighting :D
From the cliffs I went to the left, through the trenches, thrown some smokes, killed two mg42 gunners and again to next trenches and I was in the bunker near the village in a minute.
Anyway Im really surprised this gut didn't even get shot.
The trick is to get the wazzles on the left then proceed to crawl real close to the side of the trench after snipering only one enemy soldier and then take them out.
Hurl smoke cannisters around in front of the gunners then proceed to get the left gunner and stay low though, I like to nick the enemy soldiers weapons plus climbing and sidestepping also helps
21:14 OMG THAT WAS INTENSE
Love how you know every intricate part of this mission to show cool little details and cinematic shots. Well played, really enjoyed this
Best call of duty of cod's! :- )
+Maxim Szpak I don't think he was even born when CoD was all about WW2
Man, you take care in your videos. Hd, captions, and when you watch it with headphones different sound goes to different headphones (guy talks on the right, you hear him only on the right). I am very impressed.
a reason why cod 2 was so good
3:10 the medic getting shot still haunts me till this day
Sergeant Randall, the guns are gone! They're not here!
What?!
THE GUNS AREN'T HERE!!
Most terrifying D-Day in video game history
This mission alone will alwase be better than the shity infinite warfare
Totally agree
Call of duty infinite warfare = worst call of duty game ever
Veteran difficulty is actually really hard in some missions. I know it took me about 50 attempts to complete the Soviet mission where you had to stick TNT onto the tank that kept moving around the house ruins. The trick was to use smoke grenades at the right time in the right spots and dash for it while also dodging enemy fire from soldiers that kept spawning. That was a hard one for me.
Totally true
It's extremely hard on veteran mode though, it is playable as I've clocked the game more than 200 times since it was released though, gotta admit : it was extremely hard especially the silo snipering away stage along with the top of hill 400
Oh my goodness for real. And at the very end off the Russian campaign you had to defend against sooo many enemies with the sniper.
That was quite easy on veteran, because at some point you could stay in a corner and defend the rooms. But Point Du hoc mission and the one from soviets where you had to plant the tnt on the moving tanks were hell to finish.@@timratliff5646
Still my favourite Call of Duty game
Just went out and bought this today, I had it when the 360 first came out but now that it's backwards compatible on Xbox one I'm balling out, great game good times
It's really great how Call of Duty 2 is structured. The D-Day chapter doesnt come until the halfway point. First Stalingrad, then El Ahmein, then Tunisia, you work through 1943 to 1944.
Then you have to survive the largest amphibious invasion in history. It's time to liberate France. This is easily the most intense mission in the game and its unbelievable how good it is.
The driver of the landing craft in the beginning was British, which is a little-known fact and such a minor part of the game, but they still put it in because they wanted to be as authentic as possible. Back then they payed attention to those little details because they truly cared about their games
This is still the best Call of Duty mission to date in my opinion. Everything came together to make this mission special.
It’s insane how immersive this mission is even for a game this old. Such a good mission
This game’s sound effects and athmosphere is actually better than CoD WW2...
Watching this made me realize how most of the sounds and icons have traveled from game to game. Never played this, first cod was cod 4, but this game looks great. Kinda makes me wish they dropped the jet packs and picked the Thompson's back up.
One of the best Call of Duty missions ever. These games were awesome!
And this ladies and gentlemen is the example of when the easy mode of this game is hard
This is a truly scary level.
This game was way ahead of its time
Omg Addiction you are a true legend :) i used to play this on xbox 360 and it brang back so many memories! jeez
¡¡This mission was hell in veteran!!
I'd say top most memorable gaming experiance in my life.
I will get the Xbox 360 just to play this game lol 😂
One of the best games in the world,I think
I learnt more of history from call of duty than I did from actual schools themselves, including cod 1, 2, and 3, with cod 2 and 3 behing my favorites
*THIS* is CoD at its best. Absolute hell on Earth.
“30 seconds Yanks! God be with you!” Best campaign in gaming history.
4:20 "Lets go get the bastards!" one of the best lines in the entire game.
“LET’S GO GET THE BASTARDS!” That made me smile 😊
Hermoso♡ me hiciste vivir de nuevo mi infancia ♡ esa micion creo que me costo una semana en veterano por que era mi primer call of duty ♡ lo amo
That game blew me away on the 360. Never seen or played anything like it. S-video on a massive big screen. Just mind blown.
14:00
Yo, it's Pvt. Miller from CoD WaW.
I see that he fought in the Pacific Theater, while also fighting in the Western Front.
man to think there was a time when this series was actually pretty good
The feels I got playing this mission landing on the boat time cinematics
NEVER FORGET!!
Damn Sergeant Back at it again with the insane shooting skills
its a shame what cod is now. this is gold.
Today's the 80th Anniversery of the D-Day Landings, Remembering those who lost their lives in that fateful day.
Yep and that’s why I also recorded clips on my Xbox series x from this to defending the pointe to the silo I am serious I did because I always remember those who lost their lives in that fateful day Rangers lead the way and there is also a eulogy for the US rangers at the end of defending the pointe
I came here cause of too many memories and D Day is today.
This game is a beautiful masterpiece
Best COD out there. Reminds of Saving Private Ryan.
Great gameplay.
RIP our brave soldiers.
God such Nostalgia, i remembered playing this game very long time ago with my dad, one of my first games. Very good game
Fun fact: when I played this in 2010, in the first mission of D-Day you can see so many Sgt. Randall and after you destroyed the Krauts Artilerrys, you can find there are 2 Pvt. Braeburn. And then, in the mission defend the bunker, you can see that Pvt. Braeburn died because he hit by artilerry barrage or hit by SS troops
I played this as a kid...
My first and the best CoD game ever...
I love the boats where you drive in action
This game was gold just pure gold it didnt tell a story about an all out here its just ordinary soldier fighting for his country just like any other soldier. Second is that the misions are just packed with non stop violence around them there are artillery fired non stop and the sound of gun fire constantly imersing yourself more into the mission. Third is the guns and multiplayer, the guns sounds are crisp and machine guns acually had recoil like the thompson which it dose have alot of recoil. And multiplayer was simple, choose a class and go into battle thats it there were no hassles of making the "perfect class" unlike today and it was much better and simpler also mentioning that they were all balanced guns which meant no bullshit. Fourth is the challenge of the levels ( on hardened and veteren ) they are really challenging to complete the A.I. on the enemys were much more ferocios because when you where close to them it was game over for they would charge and bash you getting killed and if yoh were out in the open for 2 seconds with two enemies up ahead you would be dead. This masterpiece was so underrated when it came out i wish people appreciated a good COD at the time this was first cod and xbox 360 and seing these videos game a nostalgia feeling. Thanks treyarch for this game
Agreed, they did an amazing job with this. I visited the actual Pointe du Hoc today, and this mission is historically super accurate. They definitely did their homework. I wouldn't be surprised if all the other missions are historically very accurate as well.
Visited Pointe du Hoc two weeks ago! Amazing experience. IW did a superb job at this mission. Very accurate
did you see the craters caused by bombs and did you also see the bunkers? It felt something strange and amazing when I was there
best imersion audio and battle all call of dutys
4:31 my favourite part.
I think that this was one of the first video Ive seen when I was a Kid, i dont think so, but its similar. I remembered that the player chose the language but is quite the same. Good memories.
Yooo I'll miss this game in future cuz old games are not compatible with new Windows i used to play this game alot on my elder bros computer and it was just 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
some truly epic quotes here
"THERES KRAUTS ALL OVER THE PLACE"
truly frantic stuff.
One of the best CODs ever made.
This is the best mission in COD history no question
That voice acting is incredible!
I'll never forget this mission.
The new COD's Suck this cod Is real! The modern ones are easy! While the old ones... ITS LIKE REAL WAR!!!
The hardest ever stage I've played in the call of duty series games is the " mile high club stage " featured within the original call of duty modern warfare
Best mission ever in COD
Was I the only one as a kid who would pick a random soldier and stick with him and see how long he survived? Lol like the ones that aren't main characters.
This is a pretty late reply, but yeah i still do this to this day xD
AdmikStudio CZ harris
Kreamations I still love to role-play like that
Yea haha I used to be all disappointed when they get headshotted and shit
I did that too.
Except when they die I would feel sad, but at the same time happy because I got more ammo.
