Wow - 1 month to do it all. I took a few years to sell everything, house, land, car etc. But once everything was sold, I was debt free, financially secured. Wouldn't change anything after being married to my Filipina Wife for 15 years. Worth every penny. In 2015 we built a beautiful home in the Philippines. Life is Awesome.
He's right, the women in the West are strong and independent. I approach woman in person, and have no problem getting a date, but none of these woman are wife material. I've decided to hold out for a couple more years, and fly to the PH and find a Filipina.
Let’s not make strong as being bad. A woman can be strong and still be feminine, fit and cooperative. Most western women rave as being independent as plus. Congratulations! You are an adult. All adults are independent. I need a woman that is interdependent!
Craig's obviously still wet behind the ears having been in PH for little over a month, but he seems to be successfully executing his plan so far so that's Boots on the Ground experience. Hi Weng (Rowena) & guest, I'm just interested to give Weng a 👍I'm not wealthy or have material things to sell? I gave my truck to one of my sons, I lost my house and most of my savings because of divorce from a very 😈woman so I haven't got the funds that matter but my Heart 💗is full of love so I'm 66 but I have a dream to visit or move to the Philippines that hopefully will be realized😇
He is correct about finding a Filipina. My married almost 9 years with a 7 year old daughter. I'm blessed. You need to be patient and not desperate to find the one. No online or app.
The silver lining from doing the down sizing in a very compressed time frame is that you don't have time to get emotional about your possessions. You just have to be absolutely brutal about getting rid of all your stuff. I don't recommend putting ANYTHING into paid storage. You will find yourself paying years worth of monthly storage fees. Nothing in that storage locker is worth that! Just find out how many boxes your friends or relatives would be willing to store for you. Maybe it's 2 or 3 boxes each, for a total of 5 to 10 boxes total. Then after 1 year living in the Philippines, you can go back and arrange Balikbayan shipment of those things to the PH. But you will be surprised! You will be building a new life and new memories in the PH. All that important "stuff" will not seem important anymore 😊
I plan on the same thing sell it all and jump in with going out to the Philippines. I live in South Florida and it’s just getting way too expensive to live here so I figure if It doesn’t work then I’ll try somewhere else or come back to the states and find somewhere cheaper In the states but really hope it works out there
I have my house up for sale now, selling my motorcycle & cars. I too will make the jump :^) Though, I have no plans on getting married/finding a wife. Enjoy your life brother!
Nice interview Weng and wishing all best for Greg here in the Philippines, just only be careful of woman that only intention money money be smart enough not all woman here are genuine. God bless
That's why so many of us can never really go back. Because we liquidated a lifetime of personal effects and valuables down to a single seabag. For most people that only happens when they're dead.
I think you are looking in the wrong places if you can't find a single woman with no children? C'mon man! Just breaking your balls man! I'm happy for you! cheers from TN, USA!
Many women who are more mature are actually separated and not single. It makes it difficult to have a relationship with a married woman in the philippines because of the strict laws regarding this issue so don't be afraid to ask for a cinamar if you plan on going beyond the dating phase. Don't ask, don't tell only goes so far.
Every thing he said about American Women is 100% correct! Regardless of race, ethnicity, etc. any woman who comes to America, most adopt to the toxic culture. Good luck my man! I’m right behind you! I’m about to retire from a fire dept and leaving this place. I’ll be in Africa (Kenya) and Philippines in December.
Good interview! Both of you. And good luck to him. We are kindred spirits because I did the same thing and sold everything and moved over to the side of the planet.

Yeah we been told that we'll form bond with fellow servicemembers, but thats definitely far from the truth. Every American tend to ghost you, they play games with you, talk stupid conversations, act weird, its really sad.
Interesting. I land in Cebu in 2 weeks to do my 1 month exploratory visit. I won't try to make the permanent move so quick though, I'll probably take a year to 18mo.
The disadvantage living here in the Philippines is the health security system. It is very expensive to got sick and hospitalize here in the Philippines.
I just took the leap, no visit first. No guts no glory LOL I like to quote Captain Remus from Hunt for Red October: "when Cortez reached the New World, he burned his ships. As a result, the crew was well-motivated!" Been here since August, zero regrets!
It's as if someone cloned me. I totally agree. Shockingly Nov 16 GMA Team article describes US women taking testosterone injections. The toxic attitudes there shut down my dating ambitions in the US. Like this gentleman, I sold the cars, house, motorcycle, donated truckloads to Salvation Army, and moved here in August. The house actually sold weeks AFTER I arrived in the Philippines late August, a bit of a hair-raising experience. The last car sold 1 week before the flight. 5 Balikbayan boxes are en-route and I can tell you downsizing to that extent is harsh ! But I have zero regrets, and like this gentleman I am now looking for my one and only Filipina. 🥰 I am super impressed with the kind people here. 💗
Hey TrySci, where/how did you have your 5 Balikbayan boxes shipped to PH if you weren't there yet to have a permanent address for the Shipper?? That's one of my problems I'm trying to resolve right now... any advice on how you accomplished this would be appreciated. Oh yeah, what Shipper and rate did you get if you don't mind sharing. Thanks brother. Peace Goat
@Billy_B_Goat hi Goat, when I vacated my home to sell it, I rented a room from a friend. I left the five Balikbayan boxes in his garage, while I traveled around the Philippines and eventually secured a long-term lease. Then I texted him the address and LBC picked up the boxes. Jumbo size boxes, no weight limit, $110 each delivered door-to-door. ... A friend already in the Philippines offered his address but I decided to wait because if they shipped it to my friend's address in the Philippines I'd have to ship them again to my own address. If you know someone in the town where you are going to settle, that might work for you and you won't have to wait so long to get your stuff.
I’m dating the most beautiful, traditional, and loving woman I’ve ever known. I agree about age. I didn’t want to date anyone too much younger than me, I’m 54. My girlfriend is 45. I’ll actually be there in Cebu next week to see her and I can’t wait. It took me 52 years to find her and she is amazing! We would love to sit down for an interview!!!

As he said, don't do what he did. I agree. He is moving way too fast with burning his USA bridges having ONLY experienced 30 days boots on the ground. I kept my USA house to enjoy the best of both worlds.
Craig, you seem like an awesome guy. 2 suggestions, trade out the frames of your glasses, that style makes you look 10 to 15 years older & Don't trust any expats until you've known them for 12 months, to see the leopard's real spots come out
When asked about how he got rid of everything he had in the span of one month, he said he would not recommend doing things the way he did them. I would like to know how he would have done things differently now looking back?
speaking for myself, I took about 9 months for the process, selling big ticket items (second car, motorcycle) first to get a reasonable sale price, which takes time... Tossed a lot of stuff that had value only for me, projects that I would never get to.... Sorted the items I certainly wanted to bring (family photos, etc.) into one area for easy packing, donated items that would have some value, but were not valuable enough to bring with me (large heavy telescopes for example) to Salvation Army... which was NOT a fun day, I can say... also gave them a LOT of kitchen items I was not going to bring... sold large expensive items (kiln for example), sold at great discount, / donated other items to friends, rented a room for a few months to vacate the house, and put the house on the market. Packed Balikbayan boxes and stored them at a friend's place, until I secured a lease in the Philippines, and then had my friend ship them from the US to my new leased apartment in the Philippines. And that's that
