I think the reason it was so widely used is because it had a shock like effect and didn't really hurt, probably why they didn't think it had much of effect.
@@penskepc2374 didn’t really hurt? 😅 There’s a reason why they are banned now. And even then very few people would take straight up chair shots to the head more than 1 time. They always put a hand up
@@TyrannosaurusCHEX they basically just used him as a crash test dummy like they used to do with the tag team divison. Just for hardcore matches or spots with no serious angles. They saw him as just some fat guy with a kendo stick, not as Tommy dreamer.....atleast not until they brought ecw back lol
Tommy is all love for the fans, wow. He literally "broke his back" for the fans. Much respect to Tommy Dreamer, we need more of this in today's wrestling, not just a bunch of guys who are just wanting the paycheck.
At 1:42, you didn't know that a 200lb+ man hitting someone in the head with a blunt, steel object could potentially cause a concussion, among other things? Someone had to tell you this?
@@pizzahighfive2612 True but there's also no attitude era without hardcore. Mostly every memorable attitude era moment was hardcore... Bad Blood Michaels vs Taker, HIAC Mankind thrown off, Kane setting Taker on fire, Mankind taking chair shots from Rock, The Hardcore championship matches, etc.
No way, Vince made the right decision burying this dude. He was also smart enough to know that if tommy dreamer had ever won the wwe or world heavyweight championship that many people would have died from drowning in tommy dreamer's flash flood tears.
Tommy Dreamer deserves to wear one Wrestling prize around his waist and that one Wrestling prize is the most prestigious World Heavyweight Championship that has ever been a part of the Sport of Kings, Pro Wrestling, that Title, the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship (Ten Pounds of Gold version)
Are you insane? MMA is beyond dangerous. Sure wrestling has its moments but compare that to Pride days soccer kicks and head stomps. You must be born after 2002
My old roommate used to work the door at a strip club and she got me Tommy’s autograph on a poster of his and I fuckin lost it or someone stole it and I’m still pissed to this day. He’s a legend !
Tommy Dreamer seems like such a stand up guy, miss the ECW days :(
Tommy is a good guy, super chill and I've met him several conventions he's a very nice person
Nicest wrestler I met so far
miamimagicians magician miami he spanked tf out of Kelly Kelly.
Met him one time most lovable performer and true to life tough guy
American Made same here his feud with raven and the beulah drama was classic
They didn't know in the 90's that chair shots to the head were bad for your brain wtf lol

It took a wrestler killing his family for them to get serious about the health of their wrestlers only because they had to

Probably just thought it would hurt for a little and go away, like a chair shot to the back
He never lived up to his potential. If anyone deserved a major WWE push, it was this guy. He was amazing in ECW.
Only time I remember seeing him on WWE was when they brought him out just for edge and Mick Foley to kick the shit out of him
@@TyrannosaurusCHEX you should check out dreamers hardcore matches from 02-03

Tommy Dreamer is the fucking man.
He could have been a lot wealthier and I'm sure he is QUITE successful, but he had actual, real, serious integrity.
Tommy saw you and Guido at Ohare airport Ya all took the time for a small chat much respect.

ironic how this is being recommended to me today.

This is why I've been saying the attitude era will never return.
It was called WWF "Attitude" not WWE "chairshots". What we need is in your face "Attitude"
it was a different time. ECW ECW ECW!

I used to headbutt walls because I saw Goldberg do it in wcw. ;*(
Tommy dreamer shoulda been world champion at least once in WWE

U.S or Ic ok
he fought with Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy so many times and those were the best matches he had
He had brutal matches with the franchise Shane Douglas with Francine
