    When I had fungus gnats I tried everything. I ended up putting hydrogen peroxide in the water can 1:4 ratio with water and it immediately kills the gnats and eggs.

    • @GardenOfKayland
      @GardenOfKayland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Peroxide is a huge go-to for me! Unfortunately it kills them but doesn’t stop new ones from laying so I have to be super consistent

    The lipstick plant may need to be repotted. The cissus plant may have a mealy bug infestation will slowly kill the plant….they love new leaves. You can remove them with alcohol but if there are a lot you can try spraying them off with a hose first then using the alcohol. Hope this helps.
    Great collection thanks for the tour 💚

    I'm obsessed with your philodendron bipennifolium aurea! I have one too, but I haven't seen one that big before. It's so cool!
    I find that manjula pothos appreciate more humiditiy and more frequent waterings compared to other pothos varieties.

    Nice collection :). The spots on your joepii are probably extrafloral nectaries, which are a natural part of some plants. Sometimes they can indicate pests but some plants just always have them

    • @GardenOfKayland

    I ripped out 3 of my Mexican sunflowers and my cleome due to them being infested with keeled leafhopper nymphs 😭 but I replaced with 4 mums and they make me happy ☺️ Your cosmos are doing just about as well as mine 🥴😂 Idk if I will be planting them again, love their delicate look but I hate deadheading them and that the blooms don’t last long

    Hey there, those spots look like signs of thrip damage. If you have fungus gnats it can be hard to tell the difference between fungus gnats and thrips. You may be catching the adults with the sticky traps, just treat to get rid of adults. Hope this helps.

    • @GardenOfKayland
      @GardenOfKayland  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I really do hate bugs (even though some are beneficial) but yes, treating on a regular basis is a MUST lol thanks so much!

    My Goeldii gives me a new leaf at least once every two months, so one finely repot. They like being snugg-ish root-wise and in well draining soil, but consistently moist (not wet).

    Thank you for this wonderful plant tour. I really enjoyed it ❤ I have heard that, unless you are purposely trying to pollinate your Alocasia flowers, you should cut them off asap because they will compromise the leaves health.

      You’ve heard correctly! I have so many more of them in a confined space with fan constantly blowing, my angle is many it’ll blow some of the pollen from another one and something with happen?! Lol really just an experiment. Thanks for watching!

    I have a theory: it's already August. If i have a single stem plant in a small space on a pole, i can probably chop (or chop/extend) it twice before nezt growing season. This way, I'm filling my plants out and saving space at the same time...

    • @GardenOfKayland
      @GardenOfKayland  ปีที่แล้ว

      AND giving them enough time to recover 🤔 I’ve chopped plants in the winter and been fine but never chanced it with my more rare plants. I may have to suck it up. COME ON SIS WITH THE ENCOURAGEMENT 😂

  • @Zorinda09
    @Zorinda09 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey! New here looks like you have some spider mite damage on your Cissus Discolor. Might explain the decline. 😔 Pests are the worst. You can try washing it down and using some insecticide. Arber bio insecticide works, or neem oil. Love your collection, and I am excited for your journey. 🙏💕🪴
