- David Pawson shows the book of Acts is a vital part of our Bibles. Having looked at the original intention in the writing of Acts, David now shows how it can be applied to our lives. The early church wasn’t perfect, but had life and power of the Holy Spirit. The growth of the early church is the most astonishing phenomenon and we need to learn from it. David gives wise advice and says that Paul’s conversion and some other experiences should not be expected as a pattern for further events. Acts gives clarity to some of the issues and people mentioned in the gospels and is a link between the gospels and the epistles. Only Acts shows how Paul counselled enquirers. The gospels, written before Jesus died and rose again, were too early to tell us how to become a Christian. The letters and Revelation were written too late because they were written to people who were already Christian. After Pentecost, nobody was born again without #repenting for their sins, #believing in the Lord Jesus, #being baptised in water and #receiving the Holy Spirit. That is the basic teaching of this book. John the Baptist and Jesus - and the letters - actually mention all four, but separately.

Decided to randomly look him up just now, from a 5 yr old video where he says he's 81. MY DEAR!!!! WENT TO GLORY JUST A LITTLE OVER A MONTH! 😢

Its good to read the Present with Religion, a book for free on the internet.The book is about the truth of life and it shows the full picture of life for the first time so that you may stop being deceived by the world and be able to follow the steps of Jesus and other prophets to Heaven.Knowing the truth is the key factor in our salvation.We must know the truth and live in it and change ourselves according to it in order to be saved.There is no other way to our salvation.With the knowledge of the truth there comes true repentance which means changing our minds and also true obediance to God' s law and finally our sanctification which is a lifelomg process.And God in His mercy will give us His wonderful grace which is the time and ability to make the proper change.Only in this way wil we be able to attain our eternal salvation.Our task is to find this narrow gate that leads to God and do it quickly and stay on it till the end no matter what.Then and only then we will be saved.There is nothing more important or serious to do in this fallen world as our eternal fate depends on it.

Pretty sure every child that dies is found in Heaven. Imagine how many children are in heaven because satan's drive to murder so many babies through abortion. Wish it would never happen but at least 100% of those children now get to live forever with God and none of them grew up to reject Jesus.
Thanks , for this. However, Paul was blessed to be able to earn money in a foreign country. Nowadays, it is not always easy to support oneself in a foreign country without a working visa and/or a skill needed by that country, plus other legal needs, so support from ‘home’ is still important .
15:47 the disciples were those of john. the laying of hands on them was for them to receive miraculous gifts that could only happen through the hands of the apostles. these miraculous gifts were much needed at that time for 12 men to spread the good news to the world and establish the ekklesia so the movement will not die with them. that is why philip had to get peter and john to lay hands on the samaritans go impart to them the miraculous gifts. the holy spirit is given to all who repent, believe and is immersed in water.
john's disciples were immersed in water not in the name of jesus and before the holy spirit was given at pentecost.

Let me please assist by summarising what is taught in the Book of Acts. There are 4 steps in the process of becoming a Christian - Repent, Believe, Be Baptised in water and Receive the Holy Spirit
Acts 2:38 Peter said to them - "Repent and be baptised everyone of you for the forgiveness of sins and you shall receive the Holy Spirit"
there is much debate over the greek word for Baptism but basically it means to be immersed - covered - drenched etc
In John 13:10 Jesus refers to those who have already been washed not needing to wash again - just their feet
the NT teaches Water Baptism is a one off event which happens in conjunction to Repentance .....for the forgiveness of sins
Acts 1:4-5 and Its 11:16 refers to being baptised in the Holy Spirit but elsewhere in the book of Acts its referred to as "being filled" in the Holy Spirit - baptised - drenched - filled to overflowing, are all ways to indicate the act of being filled
Ephesians 5:18 "Do not get drunk on wine which leads to debauchery . Instead be filled with the Spirit speaking to one another in psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit "
'be filled' in he greek tense refers to an ongoing process " to be continually filled " so unlike Baptism in Water being filled with the Holy Spirit is an ongoing experience
How do one knows that your have the Holy Spirit in you?
If you take Pauls writing in Galatians 5: 22-23. the fruit (outward signs) of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control - these are the outward signs that a person has the Holy Spirit in them ....but it does not necessarily help you know yourself
A word of personal testimony - after I became a Christian .....and was baptised ....I also asked the same question - expecting there to be some kind of change/transformation in my life ...and there was not. Things seemed to be / felt just the same as before I accepted Jesus as my personal saviour and I "believed" he was not only the son of God but also fully God
I was not content with that, and kept asking if God is real, which I knew he was ....... I expected more...than to carry on just the same .........I listened to many teachings on this topic which included a number of Davids teachings( this was in the days before I knew anything about him ) - Practicing the Principles of Prayer and specifically 'Praying in the Spirit' .....and also 'Anointed and Fulled with the Holy Spirit' ............. it took me 5 years of seeking and asking but what I can say is - when I was filled with the Holy Spirit for the first time ..... there was no question .......I knew exactly what it meant another great book which helped me is by Don Basham - a Handbook on Holy Spirit Baptism

Why did Paul say he was glad he had only baptized a few?

Because people were claiming to follow the one who baptized them instead of Christ (I follow Barnabas, I follow Paul, etc is what they were doing)
Hello all, important message for salvation:
In 1 corinthians 14:11, Paul said "If, then, I do not know the meaning of someone’s language, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and he is a foreigner to me." and it's the same thing for God, because The VERY IMPORTANT thing in Christ for us to produce good fruit according to the spirit of God is to first understand his language, because God has a specific language in his Word (the Bible). And if we don't know this God's language, we are foreigners to him.
To have the thought of God, we have to let the scriptures translate the scriptures, we Don't have to think by ourselves, This is the only right way. I give you an example:
The simple phrase "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son"
In our human thoughts we understand "God loves everyone, the whole planet", however, God hates sin and bible says "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world" (1 john 2:15).
But if we give the explanation letting the scriptures translate the scriptures it's clearer:
In Matthew 13:38 Jesus said " The field is the world"
In 1 corinthians 3:9 Paul told the disciples "you are God’s field"
We understand here that world God so loved is his disciples, that he has chosen and known in advance in order to become vases of blessing (romans 8:29)
That's why Paul said "the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world" (galatians 6:14), because all the disciples of Christ are crucified with Christ "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me" (galatians 2:20). Disciples=the world loved by God.
And in this field, in this disciple world, you have the good disciples, the wheat. But the false disciples (false apostle, false pastor…) have been sowned by the enemy while the night.
Only the wheat, the good disciples, disciples who respect the will of God have Holy Spirit, and Eternal Life. The others walk by their own thought, human thought, while believing worship the Lord.
Now, if we keep in our mind that God loves everyone, the whole planet, and if we repeat this human thought to other people, we become liars and false witnesses to God because we don't tell the thought of God but our personal thought.
See, it's very simple, letting the Word translate the Word to have God thought.
God spoke this specific language by his prophets, it's the language of similitudes. "I have also spoken unto the prophets, and I have multiplied visions; and by the ministry of the prophets have I used similitudes" (hosea 12:10). And he used this langage by the disciples too. However, the whole Bible was written by the prophets and disciples and is written in similitudes. It is therefore to be translated. That's why Paul ask preachers to reveal mysteries of Christ (1 corinthians 4:1).
To know God's language is to know God and to be known by him.
"The revelation of your words brings light and gives understanding to the inexperienced." (psalm 119:130), and having understanding is having life: "Give me understanding, and I will live." (psalm 119:144).

His teaching is questionable at the least. His statement of faith borders on heresy at the most definitive level.
Now let's tell you a story about a man named Jesus:
A god assaulted, by proxy,
inseminated a 'virgin' named Mary, in order to bring his son incarnate into our world.
A cowardly action....
Mary and her fiance?,
....Joseph, had to travel to Bethlehem to register for the census.
There Mary gave birth to a son of a god.?
God put a star in the sky to guide people to the baby?
In a dream God told Joseph to take his family to Egypt.
Then this God stood by and watched as Herod killed thousands and thousands of babies in Israel in an attempt to kill Jesus. (wow!)
As a man, God's son claimed that he was God incarnate: "I am the way, the truth and the life," he said.
This man performed many 'miracles'. He healed lots of sick people. He turned water into wine. These miracles prove that he is God? Miracles??
But he was eventually given the death sentence and killed by crucifixion.
His body was placed in a tomb.
But three days later, the tomb was empty.
And the man, alive once again but still with his wounds (so anyone who doubted could see them and touch them), appeared to many people in many places.
Then he ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of his god the father almighty, never to be seen again.
Today you can have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus.
You can pray to this man and he will answer your prayers.
He will cure your diseases, rescue you from emergencies, help you make important business and family decisions, comfort you in times of worry and grief, etc.
This man will also give you eternal life, and if you are good he has a place for you in heaven after you die.
The reason we know all this is because, after the man died, four people named Matthew, Mark, Luke and John wrote accounts of the man's life. Their written attestations are proof of the veracity of this story.
This is the story of a Jesus. ""

I challenge you to be able to prove any of the KJV Bible inaccurate or wrong. I also challenge you to start this by by researching archeology. Go and research everything that has been found in the dirt or sand. Then after you do that research history. Once you do that respond to this comment. ..and to answer the questions of the many fears and mysteries of our universe, like 'thunder' and earthquakes, since there was no science yet.
That was the old Testament....
The new Testes is also hearsay since these letters, 'gospels' and stories were written by the loyal faithful, the camp followers,
not by objective historians at that particular time,
or by any contemporary writers,
and these tales were written many years after the supposed events of this mythical Jesus.
There is essentially very little evidence of a Jesus in real documented history.
A couple of spurious Roman reports, and all the rest anecdotal.
...but more importantly ...a jesus' existence is not an issue!

Then, many of these stories, but not all, as many were not chosen,
[ There are more than just four Gospels but only these four were agreed on ],
were compiled for one self-absorbed converted Roman Emperor in his Nicean Council,
for his expressed purpose of conquest
and
control of the people of Europe for his Holy Roman Empire.
He recognised that this was the perfect religion/mythology for the future domination of the populaces.
Half of the stories were ignored by the Nicean Bishops and none have been proven to be based on fact.
This 'Bable' book is backed up by absolutely no facts and no evidence.
It is not proof for any god(s) ....(or of any jesus as a god...)
The fables are intertwined within historical places and people...
eg Egypt and the Pharaohs existed,
whereas Moses and the Exodus did not happen...!
It is a historical novel
