Beautiful stuff! To add to this, there are much reasonable places around Hampi if you don't intend to spend on homestay. 4km away is a place called Kamalapura which has a KSTDC hotel - Mayura Bhuvaneshwari which has dorm facilities and hence turns out way cheaper than homestays. Hampi can be reached by cycle (which can be rented for 2-3 days' stretch) from Kamalapura or rickshaws too are an option.
Also anegundi can be reached by a coracle boat ride which is much more fun and interesting and a day can be spent there too which has some palaces, temple on hills, some restored bungalows, empowered women organisations selling handicrafts, etc.
An additional day can be used to explore Badami, pattadakal, aihole...

I am just back from Hampi and please remember that if you are going in December it is insanely expensive. Another problem is language, so u can't bargain the way you want. One night in hippie Island is must if you want that trans Goa feel minus sea but plus lake. Hampi can be done in flat 3 days. Don't spend extra days as it ruins ur budget.

Also u should have done pattalkad, aiholle, badami and bijapur in the same stretch of hampi. Also in hampi u should visit hospet tungabhadra dam.
Nice video. It makes me wonder if this all architecture and minute carvings were performed only using hammers and chisels. Even today by using a diamond cutter such magnificent work and minute details on a basalt won't be acheived.

the trick is actually not to pre book because there is always availability. You can try booking.com to search for homestays or cheap hotels
Nope, Just walk in..
If you are asking about Hampi , there are hardly any homestays there. All are affordable single rooms with or without ac based on your budget and there is a very good hostel on the other side of the river. In general for hostels you can try hostelworld.com apart from booking.com and other such sites and CouchSurfing is there too but then some people do not think CouchSurfing is safe.

I visited hampi in the month of you Nov'18 .. my experience was awesome.. and m happy that I explored things which you mentioned in video... Waiting for next videos.. keep inspiring.. I preferred travelling by auto.. and for badami by cab.. total expenses were 7k for 3 days for hampi and badami

Rather unexplored Hampi I would say. Bike should be rented at day 1 itself covering the major architectures. Stay can be made at hippie island with your own tent. 4 yrs back I stayed at Goan corner pitching my tent in their garden for 200 per night. A day can be easily spent from sunrise to sunset at this island hiking and doing the famous bouldering on the rocks.
Ofcourse relaxing in the hippie island stay with vast rice fields around you is another pleasure. Home stay in crowded Hampi is a STRICT NO!

From Mumbai..it's very easy to reach hampi.
There are regularly bus directly from Mumbai and Navi Mumbai eg- VRL travels.
Overnight journey and you reach a city "hospet"
And hampi is just 9 km away from there.
Hampi does not have railway station but hospet is the closer one

Nice video mitra..When i did solo trip hampi maza 3.5k kharch jhala.. Best option to stay when at hampi is "Nargila" dormitory and "Happie Hampi" where per night cost is around 200-250 and you can enjoy night parties,Jam as well....

There is nothing to worry as there are other modes of transportation also .. example- Auto or a cab for a day .
And in a very low cost .
There are many local travel assistance.
