Ngl in my opinion the whole reason he hates these bikes is that the company that wanted to sponsor him wanted a good review without telling his audience, sketchy sponsors deserve to get called out for shit like that, but sadly this is still a rlly good bike
These Venom and Amazon bikes are the reason I bought a motorcycle. One day I woke up and an Amazon motorcycle video by The Inja was in my feed. I watched several of them and was fascinated and realized I wanted to ride. That was in November took MSF and got license and bike in late February. So thanks to Amazon bike videos I have a RE INT650 and loving it.
Awesome man, whatever gets you in to riding. This is a bike that can get a lot of people into the hobby and its so cheap, like there are Ebikes like the Surron that still wont get you the capabilities of a motorcycle like this and I see friends buying them all the time. This bike is cheap its like why not have one, the engines are super reliable with minimal maintenance and not much that can go wrong.
Spot on. I have been on Chinese scooter forums for fifteen years and there was one truth. "If you buy a bike, scooter. ATV online you are the dealer" You are responsible for set up and maintenance. It's why a Dealer bike is twice to three times the price. My favorite is when people say a used bike is better. Do you really know how the original owner broke it in. I've been around bikes for sixty years and the way some people "Broke" bikes in would turn your hair gray. "It's under warranty. If I break it I don't have to pay for it." Getting a bike like this will do you fine if you are new or even just want something to get to work on. This bike has caught my attention and I have two Japanese bikes in the garage. Six speeds, fuel injected. Yeah Buddy!
Thank you so much for the feedback and experience. That is how I looked at it when I bought mine. I know that right when it arrives, I'll have to go through it, checking bolts, breaks, and fluids. The expectation needs to be different when ordering any bike online, from one that is bought at a dealership. I've had mine for over 6 months, and I'm really happy I got it.
One of my "Rocking Chairs" is a pre 2000 750 Kawasaki. No traction control or ABS, Electronic Aids are just a gimmics waiting to cost you thousands to fix.
Well, the truth of the matter is, Yammie did Not compare that bike to the 390. He compared it to a Ninja 250, which is what they advertise against. His other complaints, legit complaints at that, are the speedometer is way off, the tac is also off and the 0-60 is over 17 seconds. Oh, and their 100mpg claim is also wrong. They lie about so many things, it is ridiculous.
There is definitely issues and misleading adds from Venom about this bike. However, I got mine from Xpro and even though there are small problems like the speed gauge, its still a good option for a cheap motorcycle. My point was just don't over look it and try not in to the trap of what is popular. Other than that, I agree with you.
kind of a nitpick but the tachometer part is accurate, the tach that he installed is expecting a wasted spark system. From the sound alone I could tell that it definitely reached 6k rpm when Yammie revved it in the parking lot
@@omurize2007 Not a nitpick at all. Browsing the comments of that video I was mortified that no one else seemingly called him out on that. Yam has owned/ridden dozens of thumpers with tachometers and should know by now what one should sound like, if he had any sense of perception: Or if he bothered to read the single page of an instruction manual that came with the tach. This is despite the fact that I think chinabikes are dogshit, having owned four of them.
Bought a Vitacci Spark 150. Speedometer is off by 10 mph. 50mph is actually 40 mph. Always wondered why people were so up my butt until I realized this.
The tach is an easy fix. It's probably set to 2 stroke instead of 4 stroke. It's exactly double your rpm. The speed is normal on all Chinese bikes. I'm fairly sure if you are careful with the bike, you can get 80-90mpg easily. Not on the highway, and not after just 30 miles and overfilling the tank like spammy noob does.
There’s a dealer near me selling these Chinese bikes. He buys them off Amazon then resells it for more. Might as well just by it directly from Amazon and ditch the dealer.
I've got the cruiser version of this bike, the BD250-7.....I actually got mine from Boom, I've had no problems, and it runs awesome......love this video, you really hit the nail on the head
I have the same one and unfortunately I’ve been having issues with it with the gas pump and map sensor I fixed the map sensor but the gas pump still getting it fix it’s unfortunate I don’t know much about but thankfully I found a mechanic that is willing to look at it because so many people the moment you say Chinese bike hang up on you and say we don’t work on those
@@solidsnake2551 yeah man, I've heard of a lot of people having similar problems....the only problems I've had is when I ride to long at back highway speeds like 60 or so, the vibration causes screws and bolts to loosen, the screws in chain guard came out and it bounced off a bridge....other than that I've been lucky. I ride to work and back daily....12,123 on it and she's still kicking knock on wood
This guy Yammie only sees value in horse power he’s a legit squid and doesn’t seem to realize realistically you are going to be driving at cruising speeds 90% of the time. Watch his videos and you will see how easily he will dismiss bikes that go under 115 mph or even 130 speeds you will never use in real world applications.
I think it all comes down to the rider and what you want out of your ride. I wouldnt listen to anything Yammie says seriously. This is the same guy who acted like a street Rossi and went head on into a Porsche going around a turn. He is a wanna be track rider, not a true rider who loves riding. If you love riding motorcycles, it shouldn’t matter if it’s an E-bike, Grom, Harley or a liter bike; 2 wheels is 2 wheels. You should have a smile on your face riding any of them.
I think what Yam wanted to say is that, for the same price as a BD250, you can get some old Japanese 250, or even an older 300, that runs laps around it in every way, in short you get better value for money. Also those amazon bikes have no resale value, and an old ninja 250, pretty much doesn't depreciate. And if you buy new, you might spend twice as much, but you get more than twice as much bike. Ali Express bikes are not bad in a vacuum, but once you consider your other options, they look woeful. You see that in most product segments really. But in the end of the day what matters is that you are happy with your purchase, and you are having fun with it. You shouldn't care too much about others say (me included). I am just here to give my honest opinion, and it should be treated as such. EDIT: Also Wish bikes are illegal in my country, you can't register them and such you can't ride them on the road. EDIT 2: 8000$ for an rc390 !? That's just outrageous, thing is dealers are out of control lately, cars that should be sold for around 50k are going for 80k out of the door, or even more.
Really great comment. I appropriate your honesty and for the money I spent on the bike, I am very happy with it. I currently only ride about an hour a week, so for me its good. Like you said, dealers are so out of control theses days. Where are your from that doesn't allow you to register a clone motorcycle?
@@DOHowen I am from Portugal, European regulations are quite strict, I think you must be a dealer to register a vehicle (1st registration that is, you can buy a car or bike and transfer it to your name). Also we are the country that takes your car away you swap your head unit 🤦♀️ Also I bet it wouldn’t pass emissions standards.
Yep theyre the same bike all around. All I use my Vitacci for is getting to and from work and no issues whatsoever. Only recent thing that's happened is having an Aneurysm over trying to find a replacement Sprocket for both rear and front. Luckily I found their legit service number so I hope I'll have some help.
That's awesome to hear. Also, there are some good FB groups where people share the knowledge on these bikes. Definitely seek them out if you haven't already. As I come across issues, I'll post videos on how I overcome them.
He made a good point saying its bad for a true beginner to get a bike in that condition. Just buy a older japanese 250 for the same price/cheaper imo. These are fun for people who have experience to what to look for.
I can definitely see that. I would also suggest someone who wants to learn how to work on a simple motorcycle. They are not for everyone, of course. However, they do have a place, and for myself, it's been good.
The problem with buying used bikes is that you don't know the history of the previous owner. All you have to do is cross fingers. Otherwise you might turn into a mechanic really fast.
Quick question about the mirrors, what’s a position to have them at? On just recently put theirs on and there hard too see on them granted I’ve never used these type of mirrors before on a bike. Thanks
I am the proud owner of a Templar X some caveats: licensing make sure that when you get your MCO that it says motorcycle not off-road dirtbike this has been a constant struggle to get mine licensed. Insurance they would only do liability on the Chinese motorcycle. Nibbi carburetor put this on before you even start the motorcycle buy good American made stainless steel hose clamps and fuel line put your fuel line on the carburetor before you ever attempt to mount it it will save you a ton of time because the space is tight. Nibi makes an ignition I would swap out the original and use a NGK iridium spark plug chances are you’ll never ever have to change it. If you plan on changing your sprocket once again do this before you even start the bike I would recommend a high-quality chain with a rivet master link. Loctite Loctite Loctite. Drain the oil high-quality synthetic. Take your time break in the motorcycle engine slowly. Remember your tempering the steel. Just some suggestions.
Just bought my Lifan kpm200 about the same time you got this bike and I would be interested to see what he thinks about that being the more typical water cooled single cylinder. I did by from venom and I have had great experience. I had an issue getting it titled and they helped me get it solved in one day. Some times I think it’s hard for these big time influencer reviewers to see things from other points of view. All they do is get free bikes to review and they are spoiled in that way.
I really agree. I was looking at the Lifan at first, but finally landed on the Xpro 250. He definitely has access to some high-end bikes. It's like going from a Ferrari to a Fiero.
I bought a CSC Sg250 for my highschool graduation, i love it, sure, by most standards it's kinda shit, but i bought it with full intentions of learning to work on it, rebuilding confidence in myself along the way after a rather troubling relationship. I have zero regrets buying my bike, i think the main thing is viewing it as a project to begin with.
I agree 100% a lot of your experience with these Chinese bikes is gonna be in the prep work, if youre not willing to do it yourself get it from someone importing and dealing with them from a reputable bike shop. But ya first thing is total fluid change to quality synthetic stuff, upgraded plugs and possibly change out the rear sprocket depending on what kind of riding you mostly need it for. Leaves something to be desired at top end but if u just need it to zip around town? plus or minus a tooth or 2 will drastically change this bikes potential. But it is what it is ITS WAY CHEAP compared to a lot of used Ninja 250s and brand name comparable stuff.
He just seemed to have a hating tone to everything about it, but maybe I’m just a little salty cause I got my black Xpro 250 just like yours in, put my first 50 miles on and am in love, I bought it to daily in during good weather (300 miles a week) and then upgrade to something when I’m bored of it, don’t care about resell value , he did have me worried tho because I plan on riding it so much and so far , but I’ve seen great reviews from it and it feels great but it’s also my first motorcycle lmao but it’s just up from here fam got a Y3 in my line of sight after this 🦾🏍️
One thing I liked about his videos, he was supper hard on the bike. He would red-line the engine over and over again. He never broke it in and just pushed it hard right out the box. And after all that, the bike was still running and he even made other videos with it. Everything his did, made feel the bike is pretty reliable.
I agree with you I have the same bike myself almost two years now and had no problems with it I've done alot of upgrades to it and its still way under what the deal ship would cost for a low Cc name brand bike I would also say I would differently change those garbage tires that it comes with ride safe bro
So you would say this bike is “new rider friendly”? I want to get into riding and just curious if this would be the right decision for someone who wants to start out!
What’s the top speed on it? I’m thinking of buying one but my biggest concern is the regular commute I take to my brother-in-laws house which is 200 miles away. And the roads up north to him are all 70 mph speed limits.
Definitely NOT a good bike for that. Look at spending just a bit more for a Royal Enfield. It will be more comfortable and reliable. The Xpro is great for in a city or on a weekend ride, but thats it. It will hit 100mph at max RPM, but cruises at 60mph max.
I have 2 of these bikes: a enduro/duro sports and a street bike a kpr 200! Neither of these should be thought of as a regular commuter for that distance! 20 miles commute at best with a backup person you can call when it stops on you!
I hear so many mixed reviews. its either don't go near it or its great (for what it is). Im not expecting too too much but how quickly do would you get bored and wanna graduate?
I think is depends on how much you will use it. I ride every other weekend, so after 2 yeas, its still good. But if you ride a lot and want more speed, then you might grow out of it in 3 months.
I just bought a XPro X24 250. Had two Chinese bikes before and no issues. I would have paid attention the Yammie Boobs comentary had it been presented professionally and without bias, but the sarcasim overshadows what could have been helpful input. Unless there is a MIT or Stamford degree in motor cycle expertise, all come down to opinion from ones own expierence. DOHowen presents his honest view in an informative way without bias. This is what people need....not mocking bias slanted opinion like watching the news. Thank God there are people with helpful info and not with an agenda to attack what they do not agree with....they not only have a narrow mind but one that is closed completely.
@@DOHowen NO, thank you! I was amazed at the build quality, finish and trouble free performance for an impossible price from my past bikes. If your gentle with them, change the oil and just go.
I bought a bike from tx power sports late last year and it didn't have any loose bolts. The cardboard was missing on my crate and the bolts all had marker on them.
It is like most things when you have reputable and reliable or something that just works well enough. I chose to get a z650 for the reliability and well distributed power. Something that was fast and powerful enough to keep for a long time.
So it will definitely get up to 90 mph and Its listed to have 15HP, still not much for the size though. I will add, its been a good bike and fast for me.
The DB250 looks like the bigger sibling of the Xplorer/Zongshen Z200S that's being sold around here locally though you could get them for just around $1k converted price. Plus in a place dominated by 100-155cc underbones and scooters this would be considered an intermediate bike
@@DOHowen I live in the Philippines, here Z200s are sold mainly under two brands with an extensive dealership network. Plus there are tons of motorcycle shops here for every parts that you would need since a lot of motorcycles here are used for practical purposes like in other South East Asian countries
Did you really keep it under 35mph for 500 miles for break in? i just got mine and its killing me going so slow everywhere lol our roads are all 45mph here
@@DOHowen awesome thanks for the reply, 1 more question - is there 1 or 2 spark plugs on this? going to order the one you recommended but not sure if i need 2 thanks again for the honest reviews! Yammi almost talked me out of my own bike but i think its a great starter tbh
@Enderr There is just one spark plug on this bike. And yeah, I hate how he compares it to other high-end motorcycles. It's a good starter bike. Just put the time in at first to make sure all the bolts are tight and that it's good to go. I've had no problems with mine.
Dude buys a chinese bike and is like 'yeah it's like the best starter bike you can get" Nah bruv, motorcycling on a "budget" isn't in the name of the game. Spending money on "budget" gear is risky enough let alone a "budget" motorcycle. I'll take my used $5200($6200 with fees and extras) R3 over a $3000 chinese death trap any day. To each their own but I value my life and buying a sketchy cheap chinese machine isn't in the picture for me. You get what you pay for. Too risky for me. "budgeting" just isn't something you wanna do in this hobby. It's expensive, you have to be willing to pay for safety.
So, the only thing is the engine is less power. The frame is the exact same one used in the Kawasaki Ninja 300. The same guy who built all those EX300s built this bike. Definitely need to look into where your bike is really made and not where the company has its headquarters.
I have to firmly disagree with most commons in here. Yammie Noob clearly checked for the validity of the readouts on this bike. Let's also keep in mind he does right on the track too. So all things considered he is going to be more critical of the finer points of this motorcycle. I understand that maybe a bias but it doesn't add up to me. All things considered a Ninja 300 or 400 when it was new is not much over 5,000 and in some cases you can get them under $5,000 so this selling point of less than $4,000 doesn't make a difference to me nor does it make any sense. Especially when you talk to use market where they're barely used and traded around as learner bikes That gets sold at 2:30 or even half the original MSRP.
Overall this is a cheaper option and for around town and on weekends, I have been really happy with it. I pay $80 a year for insurance, no monthly payments on it and it rides fins. For me its a win.
i had got an engine code and i bought the FXTUL m3 code read for the bike but none of the adpater seem to fit it, is there a certain adapte i need for the BD250-5?
Yes ! That other guys video was WAY off the mark. I wanted to comment on his video. I watched it three times. I wanted to comment but I refrained cuz I didn't want to sound negative. And at the risk of sounding negative here which I don't mean to, he is just completely wrong about who that bike is marketed for and the way he was looking at it. I've got a whole list of stuff that he was wrong about in that video but I won't get into it here. I agree with you 100%. My Vitacc (same as yours but with the counterbalanced engine)i will be shipping in a couple weeks I have one more layaway payment to make and then it will ship in mid May
Thank you. I definitely appreciate the support. Like I said in the video, I think his review fell short. Congrats on getting a Titan. It's definitely a bike I have been looking at.
I had this bike unfortunately, and I can safely say it is not worth the money. Save up roughly an extra thousand and get a ninja 400/500. The upgrade is night and day. Don't do yourself a disservice. (Ninja 400 as of now has a $500 off deal)
It comes with a certificate of origin. You should be able to get a title with that at the DMV. In Texas I needed a state inspection as well, but was easy.
Also I wanted to ask have you had any issues with it like with sensors or fuel pump I got mine it’s brand new but unfortunately I don’t know much about bikes and can’t really work on it my self luckily I did find someone this has been helping me so look at it and help me fix the sensor for now but I just want to see if you had any problems with it
The price is an important argument and also the only aspect that is discussed in this video. This might not be an issue if it was sold as a cheap bike. Instead, the documentation is full of lies with regard to performance, i.e. speed, fuel consumption, innovativity, etc. The price is low for the risk that you are taking on top of a very poorly performing product.
I've been trying to find a video with a top speed on the Xpro x24 250cc bike that you have, and I can't find one. I saw that you got it up to 80mph at the end of the video. What exactly is the top speed?
Thanks DOhowen! I can’t stand how people shit talk these bikes because they slap them together without a care in the world. I have a lifan kpx250 and have over 7k mi since September 2022! Best beginner bikes hands down.
My Lifan LF 200 GY5 dual sport is a 2006 bought new from a B&M dealer for 1650.00 . It was a left over that I bought new and it has been a great bike. One rear tire and batteries as needed and normal maintenance.
I get that, but many people, like me want a new bike. I know the Honda is faster, but this is a good bike. Plus, its new, clean, and looks good. Im happy with it, and I see why many people buy them.
I can't say i agree with these bikes. I bought a used 96 yamaha 600 for 1000 bones. it was wrecked like 3 times before I picked it up. it still worked great. no one else I knew at the time rode. I put 25,000 miles on that bike before selling it for 500$ to a friend with 45,000 miles. I dropped it 3 more times while owning it no big deal. why not do something like that and get a quality bike instead? I really don't like yammie but hating on the non-functional basics like speedo is justified to me. its literally the basics for a reason even an aftermarket dash adding speedo is more accurate. A name brand bike would last longer than that thing even being used significantly. Plus when your done with your first bike it has the same value basically. "your own touch" seems like a poor excuse not to have a better motorcycle man. Also how far can you take this bike with your own touch? Still going to be dog slow and kind of ugly. who makes real upgrade parts? prob no brake upgrades, power upgrades, suspension upgrades. Why put a Buncha money into something that has no return and would be considered unfixable by shops if it died? I would keep this bike now that you have it but buy a better bike used get some actual acceleration more than an e bike for 2000 bucks and ride that. keep your thing as a backup or mess around bike. I learned a bunch without any consequence changing brake fluid, getting tires, replacing chains the years I owned my first bike. you have to maintain any bike you put miles on remember that. in my opinion your chasing having a new looking bike not actually riding bikes. I have no hate for whatever makes you happy because that fucked up imo. I do think you could be having a lot more fun and getting better experience to use later for your time and money.
Thank you for your input. I agree with you for the most part and will probably soon get a brand name, new or used bike. I have been overall happy with this bike through. Definitely not a fast bike, and could have better build quality, like the speedometer. However, for the cost of it and overall look, the bike has been good to me going around town and on weekend rides. I so far happy with it and when I rode the all electric Zero motorcycle, for the price I would choose my Xpro any day of the week. I am sure the thoughts will change when I get back on a modern brand name gas bike in the future.
Good review. I want to get one just as a toy to put around on. I kind of like these cheap Chinese bikes. Just a suggestion to improve the quality of your video...next time do a walk around.
Thank you so much. I have done other videos with a walk around, hope you can check them out and subscribe to the channel. They are definitely fun bikes to have as a weekend toy, that's what I use mine for as well.
You can quite literally get a used bike with more horsepower, built correctly, a real community and aftermarket and a lot less answering questions for less than you'd spend on one of these new. I wouldnt pay more than $500 for these chinese clones.
Make sure the bike is getting a spark and start from there. Next check to see if the fuel pump is running, should be able to hear it when you turn on the power.
Right there in the first 3 minutes, "You're not going to get the same prep-work like if you're getting it from a big factory distributor" I dont live in the US, so the marketplaces may not be entirely accurate from my research, but from what I can find, this thing brand new is 3000 USD on the listing, so probably a bit over that with shipping or prep-work, or whatever you have to pay extra After that, I just googled "Used Ninja 250 in the USA" and I got many deals for 3 grand on 2012 last year Ninja 250's that you can haggle down and get for even cheaper My question is, why would you go to the hassle of buying a brand new Chinese bike when you're going to have to do the same prep-work and maintenance that you're gonna have to do on a second hand Japanese bike, when that second hand bike even with the milage it has, will still be more of a motorcycle and more reliable Idk, I guess I just dont see the appeal of buying an objectively worse brand-new bike than an objectively better second hand bike for the exact same price, when you're gonna have to do the same prep-work for both of them You do you though, whatever gets you on two wheels brother
So there is no prep-work from the manufacturer. The bike is delivered in a box and you basically build it, so its all on you. Overall cost is less that $3K.
My first bike was a Ninja 650R… It was a good bike and thats where it stops. It was all powerful and fantastic. Be honest, it felt no different than the 250 I road at my BRC class. Darn shame how guys throw shade to make their inner self feel bigger. I got the Vitacci GTX 250. If my bike can’t keep up, these hands will catch a fade any day. I think it lame to down others for getting what they can afford. Low cost. You know how many liter bikes I see sitting around like dead dogs, it’s ridiculous
💯 percent if the bike runs good and is fun, that's what counts. Not everyone can afford a new brand name bike. So, having something that is new, reliable, and nice to look at is good enough for me. I really think he lost the meaning of what riding is really about.
Should’ve gotten the rc390 they’re not 8 grand , with all fees and financing it came out to 6300 ! Perfect bike to learn and track , way better experience guaranteed man
Yammie Noob thrives on his clickbait value. And he looks at everything through the lens of his Turbo Hayabusa, and the ability to pull wheelies and do other squid stuff. This all became clear to me when he reviewed a Ural - that made in Russia sidecar rig with a reverse gear and the ability to engage the drive to the sidecar wheel for rough terrain. This motorcycle is actually a reverse engineered copy of the nearly identical pre-WWII BMW motorcycle that they were making for the German Whermacht! A factory accessory was a pintle-mount for an MG-38 machine gun, for Heaven's sake! But where did he review the Ural? Did he take it up in the mountains on dirt trails and use the sidecar to haul his significant other, or his golden retreiver, and all of their camping gear and provisions? No! He reviewed it on the streets of some big city, and he complained about how poorly it handled. Like anybody would actually choose a Ural for duty as a commuter bike. I think he should take his Hayabusa off-roading on some dirt trails up in the mountains. I look at these Chinese motorcycles as a more capable iteration of a step-thru scooter. But these bikes have larger diameter tires so that they are more capable of negotiating uneven driveway cuts and manhole covers and streetcar rails. And the sportbike versions have vastly better brakes, can easily keep ahead of traffic, and can, if necessary even handle freeway speeds (although freeways are the last place that I would want to ride a motorcycle). When you get right down to it, Yammie Noob is just another internet troll.
100 % agree with you. I also have to check out the Ural sometime. I agree as well that the Chinese bikes are just larger scooters in a way, but I am still good with that. Thank you so much for the great comment and feedback.
But yammie said not everyone is a mechanic or has the knowledge to fix replace or check what u did. If someone buy a bike from e factory is expected to be ready to ride. Not to change or fix things
This is the Ikea of motorcycles. Some place will put it together for you, but in most cases you have to assemble the bike. Anyone can do it, just need to put in some research time to learn how a bike should work first.
Have you verified if your tach and speedo are accurate? That was one major concern from Yammies vid that neither were even close to accurate. From this video it doesn’t look like the tach is reading a realistic number.
@vincentgarcia7714 There is a way to fix it. I believe you can buy a calibration tool on Amazon for the speedometer, but it's over $70. It's not really worth it for me.
@@DOHowen thanks man, honestly I just want something with two wheels so I can start riding, this would be my first ever actual bike, all of your vids have been really helpful, thank you!
Bleh...I think we should call this a... "MOTORCYCLE SHAPED VEHICLE" Nothing more... Just got the O.G x22r the one that looks like a CBR... My beef with it is the engine has no counterbalance...and it's just awful... At around 7-8k RPM it rattles the fk out of the frame... Also the transmission should have stayed a 4 and been given long gears... 1st gear is so short it's practically a liability... I do want to learn how to tune a carb. I'd like to adjust the powerband completely to the low end. This is NOT a true highway bike... I'm in South FL and people drive way...way...WAY...too fast. I tried breaking it in in Weston fl... Everyone wants to do 70mph on residential streets...wtf!? My original idea of hitting the expressway with the engine screaming for about 10 minutes is just not going to work...this thing will rattle itself (or me) apart before I get to where I'm going. If the powerband can be swung down to around 6k it'd be a fun urban commuter... sheesh...
I can agree with that. I first saw a video of the X22r and thought about getting it, but I am glad I went with the Xpro instead. The Xpro is EFI engine with 6 speeds. This is more of what you see when you are in other country as a main motorcycle. Still not really fast, but has been really reliable.
@@DOHowen so I put another 25 miles on top of the 40 from yesterday...(trying to get to that 100mile break in oil change ASAP) 😅 (rainy season prevented more) I think I'm developing a feel for how the bike can be ridden. 1st gear is still worthless... So 4 gears to get to "keeping up with traffic" As long as I shift between 6-8k rpm the vibration is tolerable and cruisable(?) I got it to 85mph on the tac on a flat stretch (honestly I don't give a crap about properly breaking it in) . So considering how off it probably is... maybe 70-75mph? I may be able to drop into the expressway for the aforementioned time.
@BendApparatus Check into getting a different smaller rear sprocket. That should stretch out the shifting. Hopefully, you get some riding in before too much rain hits. I'm in Texas, and it's over 104 riding not, so it's really too hot to ride.
@@DOHowen 🤔 But would it be worth the acceleration loss by going with a smaller rear? It already came with a 17 tooth front... It also has a straight through can... How restrictive do you think the stock pipe and cat is? The air box is not bad... pretty roomy and with no weird bends.
from experience no point in buying a chinese bike i've had them and i don't get the appeal just buy a used bike and the "bUt ItS uSeD aNd I wAnT a NeW BikE" excuse makes no sense so what if it had a previous owner at least i know a CBR 500, CBR 650r or Yamaha R3 won't be unreliable where as a chinese bike with no reputation is a huge gamble on reliability but i'm open for people to explain why they like them edit: also please just invest 500 dollars into a jacket, gloves and pants because those look like sports gloves and a hoodie
What I keep on thinking is even if you buy a name bike with 50k miles on it for he same price or less it would most likely last as long or longer and have more power and more available parts.
I thought he sounded and looked pretty entitled, elitist, and dumb when he ragged on the bike like he did. He doesn't get what these are for. Great response.
Explain? I have had over the years a CBR 600 and an R6, plus many dirt bikes. I am now at a point where I only ride when I have time on weekends and this bike has been good for just that.
Thank you for the support. I just subscribed to your channle, interesting videoyou have. I hope you are following me as well. It's difficult for some who are surrounded by top of the line motorcycles to appreciate something that's not in that bubble. If in the future I get brand name bike, I will still keep my xpo.
@@JerryHawk250 That's awesome. I hope to get to that level at some point in the future. Thank you for subscribing to my channel and just the overall support.
I don’t see how anyone can possibly take Yammie Noob seriously. These bikes are the perfect example of.. “you get what you pay for”. If you don’t go in with that expectation you are going to be extremely disappointed.
i think you're kidding yourself if you expect this thing to be anything more than a full-size grom. even at that point i don't know if you could call it that, because of how cheap and poorly made these chinese bikes are
Can't take that guy seriously. Especially when " buy an ancient used motorcycle" is his only rebuttal. Those of us who have bought Chinese bikes know what they are and what they aren't. We weren't surprised when the speedos read off, or were copies of more established bikes. He didn't know what he bought and I'm sure made it back and then some in clicks. He didn't even change the shipping oil out. Oh and on his buy an old motorcycle video hes acting like low balling someone by half on a bike (nighthawk) is normal. You're talking to beginners. They want a bike. They don't have time generally to play games and offering someone half of asking is playing a game. Wow
The company probably dose it on purpose to meet DOT rules and not fine tune it. It can be dialed in more, but I just have not put in the time. Again, the Ikea of motorcycles.
all the ppl trying to defend this bike are fools when you can go out and buy a used ninja 250 for $1500 which is more powerful, handles far better, will teach a new rider a lot more about riding, is vastly more reliable, and actually has a dealer parts and service network in the country, *and* can be resold when you're ready to move up for about the same money you paid for it be for f*cking real, there is zero reason for a new rider to get one of these to learn on (and you should always start on a used bike anyways because you will drop your first bike at least once)
Yammie made like 5 videos bashing this bike, i think it was more so because the company reached out and basically wrote on the contract.. review this but only say nice things more than because the actual bike itself 😂 but thats just a theory
Only ppl backing you up are the only silly willies who actually spent(more like wasted) their money on one of these lol. Sorry bro this bike is not it.
not a problem. It's not for everyone. There are many different things out there that have a following that others do get. This is just one of those things. It's not the best bike in the world, but it is fun for those who own it.
@@DOHowen fun till is not, that’s just dumb and dangerous and i do apologize for the strong wording but there’s no other way to put it. They lie about the engine, the triple tree either TOO tight or not tight at all imagine what else could be wrong w these things. Tires…???
@Beto787 I 💯 percent agree on the bolts be too tight, or not tight enough. That's why it's important to go through the bike when you get it and really build the bike. I do wish companies were more upfront on the engines and work needed when getting one, but that's all dealership unfortunately.
Happiness is only found in that which we are thankful for. For we cannot be happy, if we are not content with what we have, or can obtain within our means. 🙂🙏🏽
Yammie Noob is a hater on anything that isn't Yamaha. So much so that I've stopped watching anything he puts out. last one was Top 5 Chinese bikes and 3 were Benelli's. And to put it in perspective, I hate Yamaha's and can find just as much fault on Yamaha as he does on Honda/Kawasaki.
💯 % my point. Thank you. I follow The Inja as well. He has great videos.
Welcome to the brotherhood/sisterhood
Yessir me to 😂 waiting on my 2022 vitacci titan 250cc Chinese ftw 🙌
@@DOHowenwhere did you get yours? Link preferably please
spot on. keep dreaming in your rocking chair pops
One of my "Rocking Chairs" is a pre 2000 750 Kawasaki. No traction control or ABS, Electronic Aids are just a gimmics waiting to cost you thousands to fix.
I mean if a used bike has a few thousand miles and is still running good I wouldn't worry about the break in.
Motos and bicycles are WAY out of control in cost! Nice ride bro.
I agree 100%. and thank you !
There’s a dealer near me selling these Chinese bikes. He buys them off Amazon then resells it for more. Might as well just by it directly from Amazon and ditch the dealer.
I agree. I have links in the descriptions of some of my videos.
I've got the cruiser version of this bike, the BD250-7.....I actually got mine from Boom, I've had no problems, and it runs awesome......love this video, you really hit the nail on the head
Awesome, thank you.
I agree.
100% agree with you. I have a ton of fun riding it, and that's all that really matters.
Also we are the country that takes your car away you swap your head unit 🤦♀️
Also I bet it wouldn’t pass emissions standards.
@joselgamer1406 Yeah, I'm sure it wouldn't pass emissions as well. I think it just passes here.
Dude what... you can just put any sprocket you want.

These budget motorcycles can be had for 2,200.00-2,500.00 for a 2023. What used 2023 Japanese bike cost even 2017 still running 5,000.00

The problem with buying used bikes is that you don't know the history of the previous owner. All you have to do is cross fingers. Otherwise you might turn into a mechanic really fast.
These videos are perfect timing just before i get one.
Yeah, right before summer, lol. Are you still planning on getting one after all this?

Quick question about the mirrors, what’s a position to have them at? On just recently put theirs on and there hard too see on them granted I’ve never used these type of mirrors before on a bike. Thanks
No, there is no real good position. I just have angled up a bit. Really, it's just what works best for you.
I added a new 2016 hawk 250 to my other three Japanese bike collection and i still love it today
Thats awesome. They are good bikes. I im really looking into getting some type of dirt bike soon.
I have zero regrets buying my bike, i think the main thing is viewing it as a project to begin with.
that's great. Its not the brand of the bike, but the experiences you get from it that matter.
I’m glad you spoke good on power sports that’s who I just ordered my bike from
that's Xpro's parent company
Exactly. They are fine. I have had this one for well over a year and still no issues. Its great for a weekend and going around town.
Good to hear a different opinion. TY (R1/05). Could be a decent, beginners first bike. I wish they had such, when I started in 1984.
Thank you. Its been a good bike for me getting back into riding.
Thank you for sharing. I hope to keep this bike for years to come, and I am definitely going to change the tires soon.

So you would say this bike is “new rider friendly”? I want to get into riding and just curious if this would be the right decision for someone who wants to start out!
Yes it is, but know how to work on it and take your time.
Is your engine the cg250? Those got some good aftermarket support
I'll double-check and let you know. It's basically a Honda copy engine on a Ninja frame.
The 6 speed is an actual 250cc. The cg250 is a 223.

What’s the top speed on it? I’m thinking of buying one but my biggest concern is the regular commute I take to my brother-in-laws house which is 200 miles away. And the roads up north to him are all 70 mph speed limits.
Definitely NOT a good bike for that. Look at spending just a bit more for a
Royal Enfield.

@@DOHowen if it costs less than 4k there were obvious cost cuts somewhere. To each their own but I wouldn’t ride it. Too much of a risk.
“Death trap”? How?

I agree. I bought mine knowing it was a cheap bike.
I've been trying to find a video with a top speed on the Xpro x24 250cc bike that you have, and I can't find one. I saw that you got it up to 80mph at the end of the video. What exactly is the top speed?
I had it hit 100 before, but it took a long time to get there. really 80 is about it.
@@DOHowen thank you so much!
Thanks DOhowen! I can’t stand how people shit talk these bikes because they slap them together without a care in the world. I have a lifan kpx250 and have over 7k mi since September 2022! Best beginner bikes hands down.
Thank you. I really appreciate the support. I have almost 1000 miles on mine, its running fine.
If you think this is the best beginner bike your on crack
My Lifan LF 200 GY5 dual sport is a 2006 bought new from a B&M dealer for 1650.00 . It was a left over that I bought new and it has been a great bike. One rear tire and batteries as needed and normal maintenance.
@@scrambler69-xk3kv I really like the Lifan bikes. The guys on bikes and beards did some crazy torture test on them. The bike just kept on going
The point he was trying to make is that if don't have the money you can buy a old Honda rebel 250 for under $1500 and it will be a better bike !!
I get that, but many people, like me want a new bike. I know the Honda is faster, but this is a good bike. Plus, its new, clean, and looks good. Im happy with it, and I see why many people buy them.
Might be is more truthful, any $1,500 motorcycle is a risk used.
Thinking of buying blue one from XPROUSA. Just looking for a commuter bike nothing more.
Its a good bike for that as long as you don't have much highway driving.
Not sure but I think XPro is Powersportsmax.
I wouldnt pay more than $500 for these chinese clones.
any you would have a used bike lol
@DOHowen Bought my grom new actually. But going forward I'll only buy used. Why should I pay dealer markup and shipping fees?
These are super super popular in Philippines and Vietnam . I saw them everywhere
Thanks. I think they are good bikes
On the track, laughed at by Yammie himself! What a coincidence! 😂
I got this same bike but it won’t start anymore I got it a new battery thinking it was that but still won’t turn on. Can someone help me out here🙁🙏
Make sure the bike is getting a spark and start from there. Next check to see if the fuel pump is running, should be able to hear it when you turn on the power.
How fast does this top at on highway?
max 100, but average 80-90 mph
I got the Vitacci 250 😅 haven’t rode it yet but I’m joining team China 🇨🇳
They are good bike, if you treat them well. I just did a 4 hour ride and was able to keep with a group.
Right there in the first 3 minutes, "You're not going to get the same prep-work like if you're getting it from a big factory distributor"
I dont live in the US, so the marketplaces may not be entirely accurate from my research, but from what I can find, this thing brand new is 3000 USD on the listing, so probably a bit over that with shipping or prep-work, or whatever you have to pay extra
After that, I just googled "Used Ninja 250 in the USA" and I got many deals for 3 grand on 2012 last year Ninja 250's that you can haggle down and get for even cheaper
My question is, why would you go to the hassle of buying a brand new Chinese bike when you're going to have to do the same prep-work and maintenance that you're gonna have to do on a second hand Japanese bike, when that second hand bike even with the milage it has, will still be more of a motorcycle and more reliable
Idk, I guess I just dont see the appeal of buying an objectively worse brand-new bike than an objectively better second hand bike for the exact same price, when you're gonna have to do the same prep-work for both of them
You do you though, whatever gets you on two wheels brother
So there is no prep-work from the manufacturer. The bike is delivered in a box and you basically build it, so its all on you. Overall cost is less that $3K.
I'm sure they are good bikes, but would you buy one
They are all really the same bikes. I would rather buy from a distributor within the US, but Venom I think is fine.
Perfect bike to learn and track , way better experience guaranteed man
Sometimes I feel like that, but no monthly payment feels better.
Bikes and Beards did A great review of the Ural
Yes but I wonder if what he said about Venom is true? You know that they offered to supply him with bikes if he only gave them positive reviews.
The ninja 400 has a factory recall on it right now.
That's good to know.
Great response!
Thank you.
You in the San Diego area? I just bought the x22r max... looking for other Chinese bike homies😅😅
Im in TX, but there are many FB groups with riders in that area.
Have you verified if your tach and speedo are accurate? That was one major concern from Yammies vid that neither were even close to accurate. From this video it doesn’t look like the tach is reading a realistic number.
Yes, It is definitely off by 8 MPH, but I just adjust for that when riding.
@@DOHowenis there anyway to fix or improve that? Or would you have to buy and install a new speedometer system
Yammie Noob is just a size queen.....he likes them big.
lol, point well made.
Bleh...I think we should call this a...
"MOTORCYCLE SHAPED VEHICLE"
Nothing more...
@@DOHowen so I put another 25 miles on top of the 40 from yesterday...(trying to get to that 100mile break in oil change ASAP) 😅 (rainy season prevented more)
I think I'm developing a feel for how the bike can be ridden. 1st gear is still worthless...
So 4 gears to get to "keeping up with traffic"
As long as I shift between 6-8k rpm the vibration is tolerable and cruisable(?)
I got it to 85mph on the tac on a flat stretch (honestly I don't give a crap about properly breaking it in) .
If I wanted a bike that got me to A from B or vv and guaranteed ran always. It would be a Honda!
from experience no point in buying a chinese bike i've had them and i don't get the appeal just buy a used bike and the "bUt ItS uSeD aNd I wAnT a NeW BikE" excuse makes no sense so what if it had a previous owner at least i know a CBR 500, CBR 650r or Yamaha R3 won't be unreliable where as a chinese bike with no reputation is a huge gamble on reliability but i'm open for people to explain why they like them
edit: also please just invest 500 dollars into a jacket, gloves and pants because those look like sports gloves and a hoodie
Good points all around.
What I keep on thinking is even if you buy a name bike with 50k miles on it for he same price or less it would most likely last as long or longer and have more power and more available parts.
Gotta make a vid of your track day with this bad boy
When I get out there, I'll definitely video it.
@@DOHowenever take it out?
@vincentgarcia7714 I haven't yet, but hopefully, the end of this coming summer.
I thought he sounded and looked pretty entitled, elitist, and dumb when he ragged on the bike like he did. He doesn't get what these are for. Great response.
Thank you, and I agree. I still have mine and enjoy riding it on weekends.
I feel like you've never ridden a different motorcycle.
Explain? I have had over the years a CBR 600 and an R6, plus many dirt bikes. I am now at a point where I only ride when I have time on weekends and this bike has been good for just that.
Yeah, i saw the worthless piece of you know what's video. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for the support. I just subscribed to your channle, interesting videoyou have. I hope you are following me as well. When buying on the cheaper end of things. You have to be the QC.
100 % true
It’s the Yugo of motorcycles
More of a Corvair of bikes, but good point.
I don’t see how anyone can possibly take Yammie Noob seriously.
These bikes are the perfect example of.. “you get what you pay for”. If you don’t go in with that expectation you are going to be extremely disappointed.
It's definitely true.
Tammie noob, say this bike is slower then a trash truck!! The foo is stupid!! I got 250 and I love it!!!keep up with traffic, for $3,200 at 65mph
I have a xpro 125 and love it
I think they are all good when they are used for what they were intended for.
@@DOHowen you are spot on thats why I watch you
@@kayakman-gv6dz Thank you, I appreciate it.
What’s the top speed on these?
90 mph is about average top speed. I hit over 100 once down hill lol
Why isn't it the same price as a hawk 250
The basic Hawk is not EFI
i think you're kidding yourself if you expect this thing to be anything more than a full-size grom. even at that point i don't know if you could call it that, because of how cheap and poorly made these chinese bikes are
Ive had it now for a year and have been on many long rides with it, still no issues. Its not fast, but you cant beat the price for a new bike.
Wow
Definitely true. I dont know what he thinking, but real riders know better and for us who have a Chinese bike know what we are getting into.
How is not lie if the Rpms and the speed are not accurate??
The company probably dose it on purpose to meet DOT rules and not fine tune it. It can be dialed in more, but I just have not put in the time. Again, the Ikea of motorcycles.
all the ppl trying to defend this bike are fools when you can go out and buy a used ninja 250 for $1500 which is more powerful, handles far better, will teach a new rider a lot more about riding, is vastly more reliable, and actually has a dealer parts and service network in the country, *and* can be resold when you're ready to move up for about the same money you paid for it
be for f*cking real, there is zero reason for a new rider to get one of these to learn on (and you should always start on a used bike anyways because you will drop your first bike at least once)
Enjoy your used bike. I have had this now for well over a year and it runs fine.

Defiantly agree.
