such a joy being your friend and seeing this story come together. so glad my old C300 was able to make an appearance. this video made me like it more than ever lol
2012 was big for filmmaking cameras because all the brands starting offering something kind of affordable to their DSLR and mirrorless shooters. The Canon C300 cost a lot more then what Panasonic and Sony offered but it was cheaper then a lot of Hollywood cameras like RED cameras.
Not to mention, Jeremy Saulnier shot 2013 Blue Ruin on the EOS C300. Man that movie showed the real potential of the camera in a high production environment, and how well it still holds up today! Awesome video my guy! For the algorithm 🤘
I worked on a movie recently that used two c300 mkiii cameras recording to raw. The sensors had an issue with strong backlight scenes and would develop strange chromatic noise in the shadows. There were a few shots we had to relight because of that issue. The funny thing is that I encountered that same problem with the c100 mki years ago. I would have thought canon would have remedied that problem by the c300 mkiii.
Shot my first narrative feature in 2017 on the C300 (PL mount w/ Zeiss Super Speeds). Screened it all over the world - in theaters! Annnd got distribution. It's absolutely still a great camera even today.
Ich bought the Fuji X-T4 back in 2020 and in the meantime I got hold of some cameras that are way better (on paper) but I still don’t see the need to upgrade. Every video project I do is shot on it.
Thanks for the great video! Would you be interested in doing one about Blackmagic cinema camera 2.5K? The late Geoff Boyle had done some tests back in the day for CML and it looked that it could match Alexa. Again thanks for the great video!
Does Matt have a video where he talks about how he got his film onto Netflix? That's what I'd love to learn. Oh and I loved the C100 and C300 and we're just waiting for B&H to ship our new C400.
So STOKED about our series ReRun! Let me know what cameras/tech/guests we should have in future episodes KAY BYE

wow, John Minimal himself. Great video, Zach!
I just swapped out a C300 mkI for a C100 mkI with DPAF. More useful but the C300 had way better files.
Sickkkkk series. Sony handycam dcr-trv280 next!
You should try Topaz Enhance A.i. does with upscaling the Canon C300 footage.
Great video !
I'm guessing you collaed with Jack Harrison for the motion graphics intros and they are fire! 🔥👌

2012 was also the year the world was supposed to end, not sure if companies decided to launch their best at that moment or just a coinicidence
haha imagine if that's actually why so many cool cams came out that year
Oi, okay. So. What if you did re-run of iconic guitar amps or guitars.
