  • Explore the incredible Ichthyosaur in this 1 hour artist-led workshop hosted on Zoom. Using items you would usually recycle or throw away, Darrell Wakelam will show you how to create a prehistoric portrait of this ancient marine reptile. Discover the shapes and patterns found in ichthyosaur fossils and learn how to recreate them using household objects.
    For this session you will need:
    Cardboard you can cut
    Masking tape
    Scissors
    Paper Straws
    PVA glue
    Darrell Wakelam is an artist based on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. He has spent over 30 years working creatively with children and young people nationwide creating masks, models and sculptures from cardboard and recycled materials. Over the last year Darrell has diversified and added a huge variety of free ‘making' projects for children onto his website www.darrellwakelam.com and has also been ‘zooming’ in to schools to deliver art workshops up and down the country and even worldwide!
