I am Bulgarian and i am living really close to the border with Greece. Need to tell you guys, Greece is one of the most amazing countries i have ever seen. The culture there is so ancient. The people are so nice and friendly . They are just the perfect company for a nice holiday. And the beauty and sun of Greece is just marvellous.

I moved from US to northern Europe. Best move i ever made. My gf and i visited Rhodes and Lindos last year. Ive been to dozens of countries and Greek islands is the most beautiful place in the world, full of friendly people with the best food. We go again and again!

From 80% mountains, breathtaking landscapes, to 16.000 km of the most crystal clear seas, to 6000 islands, and incredible mainland, perfect climate, incredibly picturesque towns and villages dotted around the land, unparalleled history, incredible culture and divine cuisine. Above all, it's people are Greece's greatest treasure. It's combination of everything is what makes Greece perfect.

Tadashi Okazaki We have many islands, over 5,000. 33% of the ENTIRE Mediterranean Coastline is part of Greece as we have the 10th-11th Biggest Coastline in the World, so these “Poor” Greeks enjoy all the other plethora of options my friend 🤓🤚

@@MikeAbder It is though. I like USA. I like San Francisco and new York. I love the death valley, Yosemite, and plenty of natural gems in your country. However. Greece is a magical combination of spectacular landscapes throughout it's entire nation. 80% mountains, 16.000 km of the most crystal clear coastlines, perfect climate and endless micro-climates and 6000 unique islands aside it's mainland. And then a nation with incredible nature, geological wonders, unparalleled history, incredible culture, the most picturesque towns and villages all around the nation, absolute heavenly food, and very warmhearted people. That combination is rare in the world. And among the only few nations in the world that has a combination of these things combined, in the very few other countries you have to travel 2000 km for the first mountains, 1200 km for the first sea and another 500 km for a historical site. In Greece you can do ALL of it in a single day wherever you are. Dramatic mountain sceneries to hike, you can ski in the winter, and be swimming later on the day in the sea and enjoy the most incredible sunsets while having incredible food in the most incredible towns and villages. So really. Is this country heaven? Absolutely! I know because I have traveled 40x to this country by now and am always flabbergasted by one incredible beauty after another.
And Greece like Italy, Spain, Portugal are first world countries. It's clean, it's roads are some of the best in the world after the last 10 years of investments in infrastructure. And the best thing is. If you're a US citizen, it's relatively cheap. You can enjoy much more intense

I visited Kos, Rhodes and Crete multiple times. No matter when you come, there is always a quite beach, mountain or even a village for yourself. The food is excellent and the Greek always welcoming you with all their kindness.

Rick Steves. Huge thank you . That was a take me back to Greece report . I was born in Mexico City . Became a US Citizen as a child and I married a wonderful Greek Lady I have so much to thank the Lord for. Hard work has allowed me to visit 33 Countries. An I loved every single minute of it.

Fatih Ozturk Mesopotamia was the first ever recorded civilization, then Egypt. But the Greeks set the foundations for the western civilization as we know it today. Democracy, Mathematics, Theater, Medicine, Spherical concept of the earth, Olympic Games are some of the great concepts introduced by the Greeks. As it is a country with various paradises. People have no clue until they find out. Those who'm I know did, have Greece as their favorite destination in the world. I happen to be one of them
Several years ago, our travel group from Dallas/Houston Texas did this wonderful trip to the Greek Isles including Santorini, Mykonos, and Rhodes.

Really enjoyed this video. I went on a cruise also which covered Athens, Santorini, Mykanos and Rhodes, really beautiful places to visit. The sunset at Santorini is one of the most wonderful sights to see. Thankyou Rick for bringing this memory of the Greek islands back to me.

Did Crete, Santorini, Mykonos for two weeks last year. All were amazing in different ways, but the smaller islands get incredibly crowded during peak season which really detracts from the experience. But eating fresh fish overlooking the ocean was like paradise. Would love to go back...assuming this "crisis" ever ends.
Alle three island are formidable, quote history, unobstructed view, calm and pleasant peaple. It,s very beautiful.

The blue roofs and doors have been inspired by the Greek flag indeed. Rumour has it that during the German occupation during WWII, it was not allowed to fly the Greek flag. Therefore they painted their houses white and blue as an act of resistance.

I visited Santorini and Mykonos in 2019, had a great time. Greece is beautiful, and very tourist friendly.
