    This is a great short video for first time cruisers. We are very grateful to you for the tips. One question that is bothering me is how to find the events or activities that are not part of the package we chose !!! Trying to avoid wasting time before hand instead showing up and finding the hard truth later.

    KEEP your phone on airplane mode most mobile service companies offer "CELLULAR AT SEA" is a satellite-based cellular service, and you will be charged a lot in roaming fees. Also, if you're not planning to do much on your phone(internet-wise), you can sometimes rely on cellular data, especially on cruises where the ship stays close to the coast.

    Lots of great advice here. But here's what no one tells you really. And that is that a 'cruise' is essentially a week long competition between 4,000 vacationers vying for limited resources. Veteran cruisers ARE going to be the winners and the newbies WILL be the losers. LOL
    As a newbie it will seem as though you're always at the wrong place at the wrong time. You can never quite fit together eating dinner where you want and also make the 'show'. You'll stand in line more, eat to too early or too late, your State Room will vibrate and be a mile from the elevator.
    Meanwhile, seasoned cruisers will seamlessly attend the prime time shows and activities and enjoy dinner(at dinner time) and then conveniently stroll right into the main show just in time! The cruise lines may not let you make dinner/show reservations until a certain date prior to sailing. Guess what? The seasoned cruisers have already beaten you to the punch.
    In short, go punch those veteran cruisers in the face by planning every meal and show for every single day WAY AHEAD OF YOUR CRUISE DATE. lol

Most likely we will go with an inside cabin due to cost. Prices are per person on double occupancy. • @Amber86queenbee
    @Amber86queenbee 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    This was very helpful. I would have hated to miss the ship by not realising the difference between port and ship times. My first cruise is to Alaska in July 2020 on Royal Princess. Do you know if internet is expensive for single use to print flight boarding passes? Or should I look at an $80AUD package?
    The tip re travel agents doesn't really apply to Australians - we dont have the market compared to the USA for deals. Plus if anything goes wrong they are in the wrong time zone (found out the hard way in the UK on my only trip booked through an agent). Its why I'm researching myself through channels like yours! Cheers

    I know this is a silly question but at the end of the cruise let’s say like a 4-5 day cruise, are you responsible for finding a way back home from the port of call? I’m not sure if the cruise is like a round trip or just takes you to the destination and then you’re on your own from there! I want to go on a cruise this summer!!

    • @Eatsleepcruise1
      @Eatsleepcruise1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Most cruises are round trip from the home port. So you need transport to and from that port. But, some cruises do start and end in different cities. Make sure you know the itinerary.

    How do you get excited about a cruise when you don’t want to go and your gf organised it?

    • @xo.elektra
      @xo.elektra ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why don't you want to go? And why didn't you tell her you don't want to go before it was paid for? I'd suggest communicating with your partner.

    • @krisyoung3895
      @krisyoung3895 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      First look at your ports of call. Find out what excursions would interest you. From swimming with dolphins, visiting a pyramid, ziplining, 4 wheeling, blue water reef snorkeling. Second, if you love your partner you will get to be with them 24 hrs a day and nor have the daily grind of work cleaning cooking that you do at home. If you can't get excited maybe you don't really love this person and only have them in your life to use them. Maybe it's time to let them go and not make this vacation miserable for them. They can use this time to heal from you. So either be excited to get to do this with them or let them go find someone who will love it.

    It's not true that you can't bring any beverages on a cruises. Most allow you to bring one or two bottles of wine. Maybe a six pack of soda. You can't bring hard liquor on the ship. But you certainly can bring some drinks.
