College runner opinion here. Just got these at a running store early and took them for an 8 mile run. I have been eyeing these for a while. Got to say they are very solid and good. They feel like a zoom X squishy Pegasus without the unpredictable air zoom bag. I am actually loving the drop, 10m drops feel very natural and lower drops tend to injure me. I am coming off an injury and these got me thru the run. Walking around, you definitely feel that bouncy zoom X even when you’re running. The layer of foam below keeps the shoe stable. I’ve always loved the ride of a Pegasus but hated that shoe’s cushioning. This is different and is comfortable for all the miles. What you’re paying for here is comfort and zoomx which is a much a great foam for recovery. This is the best Nike trainer I’ve tried. It’s out of the way and does/feels the way it looks. If you’ve ever worn a cushlom shoes, you know it needs breaking in so still waiting for that bottom layer to break in a little bit. Besides that, these are great. Not quite max cushion, but not middle cushion, right in between those two to strike a Goldilocks spot.
these shoes are exceptional and completely underrated. Perfect daily, and long run shoe. They are soft and comfortable which is want you need for easy miles, but they are still poppy with some give back to be able to run good paces. They are also extremely durable. They retain their comfort and ability to absorb the pounding of the road after 800km's logged and mine are still consistent with 200km on wear. The rubber has some wear, but the foam hasn't died. Highly recommend this shoe. (For reference - im a sub 70 half marathoner guy).
When I bought Vomero 16 I thought wow, what a blessing. And immediately decided to buy one more pair because of the superior comfort for my injured legs. But after a couple of long runs (1 hour 30 + ) my heels clearly started to feel asphalt underneath in unpleasant way. The foam under heels has not enough height for such level of softness collapsing completely ( my subjective feeling). I'm only 170 lb. and mostly a heel sticker. As a result I turned back to Pegasus.
Common guys there is no way the forefoot has 29 or 30mm of stack height, it looks like 20mm at most. 40mm/30mm are max cush numbers and this definitely does not look like a max cush shoe. Something is fishy. Also a 10mm drop is an automatic no for me, too aggressive.
I would be putting air zoom units in all the runners after what’s been happening with the Alphafly 3. Don’t understand the exclusion of the air units in the Vomero
Sadly this version of the Vomero doesn't fit my foot well. It has an arch that is already in the middle to back portion of my foot. Midsole feels fine though. I'm sad that this one doesn't fit me well.
The trail callout on the "lugs" on the shoe is so off base. Its just a pretty typical Nike Waffle inspired outsole... Wouldn't take this as a cross-over trail shoe.
10mm drop takes in off the table for me, I need a very well cushioned forefoot and this doesn't appear to have it. Apart from their super shoes, Nike seems to be specializing in mediocrity these days. Reviewers who evaluate this shoe and other Nikes--even those who seem to like them--seem to be struggling to find nice things to say.
Robbie- I know you’re an Epic React fan like myself, how does this shoe compare? I love the ER2 for the gym because I can do some HIIT on the treadmill and still use it for lifts and not be worried about stability.
I would say it's a lot different, not ideally suited for that. The ride is really nice but I wouldn't love it as a shoe for what you're describing. For do-it-all shoes like you're talking about, I kind of really like the Diadora Atomo V7000 (I just checked, and it's 30% off right now). Ride isn't as good as ER2, but it's great for lifestyle and just general working out/running. I've also been liking the InfinityRN 4 in that way as well.
What's crazy about these comments is that the 10mm drop is a turnoff, but the Pegasus is the same so idk where they're coming from except for the fact that it's just a more expensive Pegasus

Thank you. Going to get them now
@@kyleheard8433hey did you get them ? They are $210 in Canada it’s a toss up between these and new balance 1080v13 idk know what to get

I'll never get the appeal of wearing socks that are so low you could end up with the heel of the shoe touching your bare skin during a run.
Seriously, I’d rock over-the-knee socks over the no-show’s that expose your Achilles, and then some people will then blame the shoes 🤦🏻♂️
@@kalvin. gotta look up the SHYU low cut training socks. Low cut but they cover all the important bits so you dont get any shoe to skin rubbing
I think you mean touching your sankle
Can’t agree more! High socks FTW
I used to go barefoot in my shoes during college
no way that forefoot has 30mm stack
16 was solid it didn't last as much as I wanted though. Air Zoom unit offered a different feeling than other trainers I'll probably miss it.
how do u like the 17 compared to it?
I can't wait for the colorways they'll come up with.

Vomeros are my favourite nikes to buy!
New pegasus turbo due in the spring! Hopefully we get a worthy successor to the turbo 2's!
Can you do a Between 2 Shoes between the Vomero 17 and the NB 1080 V13?
The 1080 would demolish in every category
@@dylanjarrett7097 in your opinion. Personally from reviews i know the 1080 woulod be too soft for me.
@@dylanjarrett7097I hated the 1080 on feet. Super soft, no response and narrow toe box.
I’ve been marathon training on the Peg Trail 4s and I LOVE THEM. How would you say the come to compares to that Peg iteration?

You are right, This def doesn't look like a max cushioned shoe
Indeed, they’re “common” guys

On Nike's website it says they added 3 more mm of stack height from the 16. The 16 was at 29 in the heel so you're right!!

Don’t understand the exclusion of the air units in the Vomero
In my opinion, the air pods on the pegasus and vomeros felt like nothing anyways
How does it compare to the vomero 16?

How does the toe box compare with a Wild horse 8?
Is it bigger or smaller?
So sorry for the O’s Robbe. I was rooting for them
Robbe puts those glasses on hes going Dr. Eggman, Jim Carey style.

There is no way it has anything close to 30mm in the forefoot like they claim.
nike pays good money for these reviews so they gotta find something positive to say
@@Kaisersozze No way.
I need the little spoiler tab on the back heel!
Is that not the Nike structured 25 ?
Flawless opening!
Looking for something like that shoe, but with very little to no drop. Any recommendations?

Can those Orioles make a comeback? Get those rally hats on Baltimore!
Too late, their out.
Great job on video..
Am I the only one who hates the Pegasus 39? It feels so heavy and non-responsive.
I've got 250 miles in my pair. Got em at the Nike outlet for $60. Agree though, dead shoe. Makes wearing the fancier shoes that much more worth it
Hated them.
Great walking shoes though.
Been like that since about 32

For me the 17 is a downgrade compared to the 16.
