Thanks Colin, I ordered a switch from Billy. By the way, I worked for several German companies as a Field Service Engineer in the graphic reproduction industry here in Australia. Hell, Siemens and Heidelberg. See ya Daryl de VK3AWA.
Nice video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. 73, BretC/AC0AE
Glad you like the switch Colin. 73
Good one Colin. Looks nicely built 73
Hi Colin. I wonder if this would work with receivers? For instance switching between a wire and vertical on my comms receiver or if It requires RF to do the business?
Im looking for a switcher to remotely switch between HF / Vhf / Uhf antennas
Thanks for sharing
No different to a transceiver. It will do exactly what you need. You just need to watch the loss and use good coax (as you should anyway) for higher frequencies.
Excellent antenna switch and great value Colin
Definitely is. Using it on 40m atbrhe moment and the OCFD is winning hands down against the vertical anywhere in Europe.
Many thanks Colin, de GM0CQV
Great upload Colin👍🇬🇧
Nice box Colin
I use the ameritron rcs4 remote but built a separate box for the 2x verticals
ITS about ready just the control box to do
Hope you enjoy that remote switch
Makes life easier haha
Take it easy man 👌👍
Nice bit of kit! Where is link to buy?
Have a look in the description below. It's in there. Alternatively Google hamcables.co.uk
Nice video. I am interested in remote switches but I would like it to be physical rather than relay enabled. I wonder how much current will be used by the relay versions. Also, do you have any specs on the current requirements over the CAT5/6 cable? All the best, 73 de KI5HXM
I don't, sorry. Best best is to get a hold of Billy GM6DX. Give him a search, he's easy to find.
Super presentation Colin … Right to the point …. Everything Covered …. Simply a 5💫💫💫💫💫 Job …. 73 de EI6IYB
You didn't take it apart......
No, I didnt need to. Billy used to show the pictures of the internals on his website. I've known Billy a long time and he is 100% trustworthy.
More food for thought, this would be just the job for both my permanent aerials and the ones I continue to experiment with. Can’t see me doing much now the WX is changing so installing one of these and installing cabling ready is something to consider. Thanks for posting and 73 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Definitely Mike. It allows you to be very flexible with antenna choice.
