For the first time in a long time, I agree with Lucho, and I agree with you that Araujo is going to be a sweeper defender, quick, retrieve the ball give to Cobarsi or Martinez who will pick a killer pass.
Flick's specialists need to do what they did with Pedri to Olmo, they need to try every last thing they can think of to try to keep him injury free.
Pedri is still under the age of complete musculoskeletal and ligaments development (25-26 years). Dani Olmo is already 26. So in his case repeated injuries are just bad genetics and no amount of training can change that.

True.... Araujo isn't good on the ball but I won't say he is a weakness in our backline. Results from his defensive capabilities definitely supersedes that of his ball control. I am looking forward to an Araujo+Cubarsi pair❤

Let's rest Lamine Yamal against Sevilla. I don't know Sevilla's current form, but considering how many games Yamal plays and the warning signs against Denmark show that we must be realistic. We don't want another situation like with Gavi and Ansu Fati or Pedri.

He is a fast strong defender but lacks footballing IQ. Terrible at offside traps, confused when he loses players, and Terrible for a possession based team. Pique might not be fast and strong in his prime, but I will pick him over Arauo any day

I don't think that Lucho's words are inaccurate at all. Araujo is indeed a top, top defender but ball playing ability, and the ability to stay calm on the ball, to want more of it, to indeed be a barca-DNA type centerback, those are things that he indeed needs to work on. Whether we need araujo to be all that under Flick remains to be seen but I don't think that Araujo is the most natural creative/comfortable ball playing center back in the team at all.

I think if you place Araujo between Cubarsi and Balde who are really good on the ball he should be fine. I also think Araujo's passing is a-lot better than people give him credit for, he can make line breaking passes.

I do think araujo not being the best passer will affect us a little because look at iñigo and cubarsí and the line breaking passes that they do, if araujo can do some of that then he’s an undisputed starter imo but can be is the question and I have faith that he can learn to do some of that

u didnt watch the video i guess?? he only has a small sprain which is normally 2 days of rest sometimes 3. thats it. his body just needs rest as he is 17 yrs old and the body cant comprehend this much as an 21 yr old
@@robinspiekman9916actually a strain is MINIMUM 3 days it’s never 2 😂 he won’t be fully rested in that time. Hamstrings usually are about a full week of rest it’s a pretty huge muscle.

We can actually rest Yamal on the weekend if Olmo is fit to start and Fermin is also fully fit. We can put raphinha and pay victor on the wings, lewa upfront with Olmo centrally behind him. I think we can get through by Sevilla with a win if things are done well with this setup
Louis Enrique is not focused. He is all over the place slating his former club. Why is he having the audacity to speak ill of other clubs' coaches and their strategy as well as their players. While it is good to see the glass half full, e.g. taking the notes from his comments and improving, the noises he is making come across as needing improvement in maturity from his approach. Araujo actually improved his passing alot last season, especially his long passes so hopefully he can continue working on his weaknesses although the constant injuries make it so hard to improve

My opinion on Enrique hasnt changed, even after hearing his words on Xavi, and now Dest. Luis Enrique was a mediocre coach before Barca, and become a mediocre coach once more, afterwards. He is a man whose career and prestige is owed to MSN, and the general Braca dressing room in general.
Decent coach for a mid table team, but he gets exposed in any top role he gets, unless he has an anomalously good team like Barca was back then.
That Yamal plays so well against players that are much older than him, doesn't mean we shouldn't do whatever to protect him until he matures. I think he should be reserved for important matches.

@TalkFCB Jamie, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Dani now registered in Ter Stegen's place (along with Wojtek because he has small salary)? I remember reading this shortly after his injury. Shouldn't be a problem with Andreas return on registration front. Achilles tendon injuries are so annoying though. I had small one few years back and it hurt a lot for few weeks while just walking, forget running or jumping. Takes a while to be really 100 percent pain free. Of course he has sports medicine pros at his disposal, unlike regular soul like me :)
Let's hope Araujo can learn plenty under Flick. But I am sure his weaknesses will be balanced by Inigo and Cubarsi as both are great passers.
It seems you didn't listen to Luis Enrique's analysis, he simply put pressure on curbasi so as stop him from making any passes.
He did that knowing full well that aurajo will struggle to pass a accurately as curbasi, so placing with either inigo or curbasi will simply weaken Barcelona

Teams do target Araujo when he plays. They leave him open to receive the ball and as soon as he gets it, they make haste to close him down. I see that all the time, especially when he plays at RB.

Im not 100% sure I agree with Araujo not having the ball as much under Flick being a good thing. Look at how Cubarsi and Inigo play. They are a part of the switch from defense to attack. Their passing allows us to make the switch so quickly. Araujo doesn’t have that kind of passing range. I see how him having the ball less is better from a liability perspective, but it also hinders our play from the back. So many of our attacks this season are from an insanely well timed or weighted pass from Inigo or Cubarsi. I’m interested to see what will happen. This is a GOOD problem for us and Flick to have.
