2012 Numatic Henry Vacuum Cleaner As Found In Holiday Cottage With A VERY Full Bag!

  • I’ve been on holiday in Northumbria and found this 2012 Henry vacuum in the utility room. Naturally I had to take a closer look at this autosave model that weighed far more than normal. I discovered the reason for Henry’s weight gain when I removed his motor unit and filter. After a messy empty, I took a closer look and tried out Henry in the holiday home.

I was diagnosed with autism 2 years ago. I’ve always had it but wasn’t diagnosed until then. With me having autism, I have a mindset of a 8 year old, and I’ll be turning 32 in October. I have to say that I’m obsessed with vacuums.

lol being diagnosed doesn't mean anything at all. You are not magically different just because someone just filled your head with ideas now. Also "having the mentality of an 8 year old" that is nothing you should be proud of, like, at all. Ever. I'm 32 and have autism myself. You just have to learn to live with it and deal with the morons in society.

I don't usually comment on this channel, but I do want to say that I have been watching your videos since I was a kid and it was very validating to hear you bring up autism and the unexplainable obsession with vacuum cleaners. I (and I assume many others) have been in the same boat. My interest in vacuums has been slightly on and off since I hit my teenage years, but it's always been there in the background, and it will occasionally come back in full swing. I still can't FULLY explain why, but I think there's something satisfying about a well-built vacuum, and it's always just interesting to see how many vacuum variations there are. There's something special about every vacuum and it's fun to get into.
Not trying to get too personal here, just wanted to say that I appreciated you bringing that up. I always get a little embarrassed about my interest in this stuff, and it was nice to see somebody a lot older than me express being in a similar situation!

    • @huskyvacs
      @huskyvacs 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It's not always because of autism, vacuum cleaners appreciate to many who like working on mechanical things and appliances. In that same breath you could say Jamie or Adam from Mythbusters have autism. But the obsession with vacuums to get to that point could be from autism, if exposed to them at an early age. Whatever someone is passionate about is what someone wants to collect, be it stamps or Hot Wheels or vacuum cleaners or real cars, or records, or who knows what.

@@huskyvacs This is true, but in my particular situation, autism applies, which is why I mentioned that specifically here. Everyone has different reasons for liking the things they like! It's what makes us people

A lot of cleaners don’t care about emptying vacuums or changing bags as it isn’t their own ! Also looks a better quality dusting brush than the one supplied now.

9:40 furries I bet could do this no problem. they have made real life protogen fursuit heads with full emotions (Example here: watch?v=yMvYlebpRRo). theoretically it's very simple. make the screen and design the preprogrammed responses, pair it up with a pressure switch or airflow sensor to the CPU to trigger the appropriate response based on what the sensor is detecting. in practice this will be very tricky to make it look good, and the exposure to dust and dings and rough handling, etc.

    I fully
Stripped and restored it around a year ago, and I have replaced only the speed control since, and it’s literally been used around a dozen times since, and the bag is about half full…
I am a service engineer,so it has been done to a high standard, and has also been de suppressed

My cousins use a cordless henry stick vacuum but also have a classic henry (and a disused dyson cylinder) in the attic, the former is what I use to keep the attic dust-free. It's clearly beaten up with dried paint, a missing pole and a suspicious wiring job on the plug socket (there is DIY tools next to Henry so he's clearly had a hard life). Hopefully I can replace the hepa-flo bag sometime soon, I own a George at home and have really come to like Numatic vacuums.

All of my dry vacuums are bagged, including my new wet and dry utility vacuum. My Rainbow is the only bagless machine that can easily be the best overall machine anyone can have, but there are some caveats like the maintenance after and filling the water basin at the beginning. I would typically rather have bags in my vacuums that aren't Rainbows whenever possible and necessary but they still can make a mess billowing clouds of dust and contaminants back into the room when replacing them, it doesn't matter the machine and can also get as nasty if not more so if the bag fails in it like it did in my central vacuum cleaner.
Bagless machines are supposed to be emptied after each use or multiple times during use if they go beyond the full line. If cared for in this fashion, they can actually smell much cleaner than the incubators that can be bagged machines. Also, when emptying a bagless machine, you open the bin carefully and gently set the dirt inside. You don't hold it feet above and push the button, dropping the debris like so many including you and Performance Reviews do. Bill of VacLab has a video on how to do this.
I like the idea of Numatic vacuum cleaners as they are relatively simple yet reliable and durable machines. There typically isn't any unnecessary parts to them like you find on Miele, Sebo and Lindhaus machines and more or less can be fixed by the end user.
The cable in the bag has an IEC 60320 C13 (female) connector that plugs into an IEC 60320 C14 (male) connector.

I think it may be inborn just as our sexuality. My Mom couldn’t get me to nap unless I could vacuum the hall. We had a Rexair Model C before they became Rainbow. Many of my friends that are into vacuums talk about their early childhood obsessions. I knew what kind every relative had as well as our neighbors. When I’d go to my Grandparents house i immediately got out the Kirby 517
