    wow, didn't even realise the level of precision that went into these shots until now. adds a LOT more depth to what at first seems like just extremely long tracking shots in the movie. what a piece of art.

    • @simonmorris746
      @simonmorris746 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Precision? Theyre long shots taken at the same time. Not much 'precision' going on.

      @@simonmorris746they’re not taken at the same time because you’d see the camera man in each shot

    I don't think people understand the true beauty that goes behind making such a great film like this. Sure, the story and character development was not that great. But the way the whole film was shot is truly a masterpiece.

      because it was based partly on real events, to flesh out certain characters, especially those that were killed, might have been disrespectful to the victims.

      @channel for watching videos apparently not, but I do have the ability to watch a movie and determine if its good or bad. Its only my opinion, but seems like 99.9% of people, that have sat through this waste of time share the same opinion.

    WOW. this movie was already impactful but you putting it all together with that piano melody was incredible. it somehow made the connections and statements that Van Zant was making clearer
    great job.

    No, I think the point is rather that bullying doesn't necessarily lead to mass murder. Without her character, one might assume that the message is that bullied kids will necessarily rise up and kill their peers.

    i don't understand how a movie with no character development, no character back ground, terrible acting, and a terrible climax (the shooting was terrible, the students in the school acted like a shooting happened every day in their school) can be considered good, let alone good to watch. I mean, I could have filmed 80% of this movie myself with the proper equipment. Also, when some of the students got shot, there were no entry wounds.

    • @91lifetime23
      @91lifetime23 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Marryon Lillibridge I thought it was amazing, beautifully and precise shot, the cast was perfect and the acting was pretty good for me, especially the protagonists, the movie is a statement for what teenager go trough when its rough and the movie has a lot hidden symbolism that people dont see the first time they watch it

    • @EminAnimE1
      @EminAnimE1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah I noticed it too. No entry wounds, nobody on that room showed real fear. But I actually liked it, especially the way it was filmed.

    • @ab4845
      @ab4845 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Marryon Lillibridge Too bad you couldn't get your fix of movies based on actual events with blood and guts everywhere and characters agonizing and screaming to death from pain with this movie. Perhaps you should just stick to shit like that zero dark thirty imbecility. And the movie *DOES* have "character development" and "character back ground[sic]". Perhaps you should pay attention if you're going to watch Art. Not everything's going to be spoon-fed to you. How can a movie of which most of its narrative takes place during an approximately 20-25-minute period have "character development" and "character *BACKGROUND* " in the hollywood sense you expect it to??? Doesn't make sense. And even if the movie didn't have any of that at all, it wouldn't matter; Art is Art; not a hollywood "how-to". No kind of Art is obligated to provide or have "character development" or "character *background* " at all. "I mean, I could have filmed 80% of this movie myself with the proper equipment." ROFLMFAO!!! You're a comedian! Now I see. How painfully obvious it is you know nothing about Art, including Cinema and Filmmaking...

      +A B I'm not the type that needs constant action, blood , guts or sex to enjoy a movie, in fact many of my favorite movies are the type that all take place within one day or even within one room and are mostly dialogue driven. I really thought I'd enjoy Elephant based on reviews and descriptions. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I just don't see this as art. Characters do stupid things for no reason. .Why did Benny calmly walk up behind the killer instead of escaping out of the window? When he gets shot ,you feel nothing because his character was just introduced 30 seconds prior and his actions make no sense. Another problem is feeling anything for any of the characters. They are introduced, mumble some dialogue and that's it. The scene with the 3 girls vomiting up their lunch was unintentionally funny and the students react to the shooting like it's an annoyance rather than a life or death situation. I get that normal everyday life (especially in high school ) is filled with mundane pointless conversation and often in life we don't get explanations for why certain things happen. But this movie felt so pointless, dull and like every character acted like they had just popped a bunch of Xanax. To call it art is just laughable. But to each their own. A better movie loosely based on Columbine that even came out the same year as Elephant is Zero day. It's slow paced, doesn't give away much as far as motive and is acted well without trying to be all "artsy".
