I’m fifty years old. When I watched my first BTS concert, I was crying till the end. For the very first time in a long time, I felt loved and accepted. It’s the best feeling in the world.
Suga once said, “You'll like BTS music if you listen without prejudice”. He was so right. I could keep talking about them all day long, trying to explain why these 7 people from South Korean mean so much for me, a normal girl from Mexico. But in the end, you only would understand after knowing them. There's something about their music and about themselves that make it easy to... connect with. It's really hard to explain... That's true, i was so called bts and kpop in general anti before because of all the prejudice and bad things most people said about them, but that one night i push all of that aside and give it a try to listen to one of their song, and now I'm a full time army

Jamesss namjoon is not proud of those hairstyles. He’s been educated that those hairstyles were taken from the black people’s culture and using them as nonblack person is incredibly offensive to the black community. Joon has said multiple times that he wishes he didn’t do those hairstyles back then. I hope you also understand that a non-black person wearing black hairstyles, especially dreads, is not “hot”, it’s cultural appropriation. Namjoon understood this very well and has respected the communiyy, hope you do the same.

a thing army says - we don't look for bts. bts comes into our lives when we need them the most. you'd be surprised how they make people less lonely. i'm 35, a single mom, successful career woman, yet was very sad... then i came across them and realized that i was sad cos i didn't love myself enough. at 33 (when i became an army), i knew i should love myself but they made me realize i only thought it... but i never did it. now i do. epiphany by bts did that to me. and a lot more of their songs and messages. i never supported any artist as much as i do bts and to think that i really love music and am exposed to a lot. as a matter of fact, my top genre was rock. bts is just different... rare. shit. you made me cry. yeah well this is one huge fam and you're an army if you feel like you're one. you'll get there. and good people are always welcome to the fandom. army just loves talking about bts and sharing their music and who they are as people cos they truly are inspirational and they make millions happy, the talentry is superb as well. we'd love to share this experience to any person who's open to it. 💜
I'm a bit older then you and I always say that they didn't find me when I needed them but they find me when I was ready to meet them, ready for a change, I was suicidal and so broken it's almost 3 years ago and I'm not fully there but I'm on my way and growing stronger every day. I also never invested so much in an artist before but I'm in this for life now.

Actually RM learned from Jin the phrase: use others to love myself. Jin loves making people laughs. He admitted to RM that when he saw people laughed at his jokes, he is happy and that is how he loves himself.

Jin likes to help in the shadows, without telling people about it, so no one talks about it, that's why he is not really remembered by most people. I’m going to be 60 in a month. I was going to the Rose Bowl concerts for my birthday! Taking my 16 year old granddaughter for her birthday. The concerts have been postponed for COVID 19. 😥 I hope they are rescheduled! They are the most humble men I have ever seen! The first word out his mouth or any of their mouths when they win an award.....is ARMY! The light sticks are Bluetooth and are changed in different colors depending on the songs! It’s amazing. My first concert was in an arena in LA and I was at both Rose Bowl concerts last year! There is drone video of the Rose Bowl! It’s amazing to see!
No, let him keep with the music. This fan-made videos are very cringy and if he watches one, people will keep requesting more and the reactions will look forced and faked. There are enough MVs/songs/performances/dance practices, interviews, bangtan bombs and RUN episodes and this are good quality.
So that you know : RM was first called "Rap Monster" but he left this name because he didn't want to be called a monster which he is not. He changed for only RM in 2017, which stands for "Real Me"💜
Actually RAP MONSTER is the nickname which is given by his underground hiphop's friends because RM used to perform a song that has 'rap monster' in lyric. And then Bang pd decided to used it as RM's stage name in BTS. And RM approved it. Then at 2017 RM decided to change his stage name became just RM.
RM is always so good with his words' choice. He is the kind of friend you want when you're in need of help and you know he'll be able to give you some good advice. His speech always give me the feeling that I'm loved, I'm worthy. Always make me think... "Ah, it's okay for me to live". Life can be suck most of the time. But at least, this world still has Namjoon. This world still has BTS.
One thing that I wanted to kinda correct is when u said, “Everyone wants to rip u down when ur on top”. That’s is very true, but the sad thing for bts I think is that at that time they were nowhere near the top. Almost no one knew them, but all the people that did, besides their small amt of fans at the time hated on them. Even right BEFORE they made their debut when they had just released information abt the group’s concept. It was sad because they had to keep pushing with all they got despite all the people fighting against them They had very little funds to support them, not even enough to eat properly. And while the top kpop companies constantly promote their groups everywhere, bts couldn’t do that. They were wearing face designer clothes for performances and were receiving countless amounts of hate just because their concept was different than other kpop groups. It was quite literally, them against the world But now they have army by their side to support them:) I think that because they’ve gone through all this however, they are some of the most thankful and humble people. They never forget that they couldn’t have gotten where they are without army💜
there is actually a whole profession in korea called “light stick DJs” and at kpop concerts it’s their job to change the colors and the flashes of the lightsticks according to the music. it’s really cool to watch videos of them so it. army’s lightsticks are called “army bombs” (each kpop group has their own name)

@@salvatoreruggiero6551 well there are a lot of people in the kpop industry who have said racist words. RM did say it, but back in 2014. However, majority of kpop artists did not provide any sort of apology. RM did. In fact, BTS goes beyond to make sure not to offend any group of people. When they performed at the AMAs, their song lyrics had the word "naega" which is a korean word and means "I am". Since it could be misleading to the audience at the amas, they changed it to another word. He apologized multiple times. He's more open minded now cuz people do change. It's really a cultural thing.

We ARMY always said, "You will found them (BTS) at the right time of your life"... And that's what happen to me ages ago... I found them during my depression era... I accidentally listened to one of their song, this one song touched me and i cried so much... I literally sobbing and repeating that song again and again... That day is my luckiest day for my entire life.. and now i am a happy person, i am loving myself every day because of them💜

You're so incredible. You show so much respect and I can't describe how that feels. I'm someone who gets nervous to tell anyone that I like BTS because of the stigma. I live in a tiny Aussie town and people have told me they think I'm disgusting because I like those "Chinese boys" and I'm constantly laughed at, even if I try to show people what BTS is doing for the world. It breaks my heart. So seeing you, opening your mind and heart to them is just- I can't describe it. Thank you so much.

I'm very lucky. I'm a 50 year old English teacher and in one of my groups I found 2 ARMYs (like 15 - 16 yo) and when they found out I also like BTS they were so happy. Although we keep a teacher - student relationship we can talk about the boys very nicely. I really hope you can find more people to share your love for the boys. Fighting!

BTS have struggled so... So much.... And to see guys like you truly appreciating them makes me so happy. I have struggled as well with mental health for a long time and without this family.... The only reason ARMY are so loyal and picky about what people say about them is bc of how BTS started. They were a small group in 2013 who were hated on for merely wanting to talk about the suppression of youth and mental health which is frowned upon in korea. all 7 slept in one room, had to choose between paying for food or transportation, and were cut off of programs for the messages to help kids that were in their songs. Their own manager (now fired) hit them (which was caught on tape) and people shunned them from both the kpop and hiphop community for wanting to stay inbetween the 2 genres. So, now that BTS have fought through that and are NOW (6 yrs later) getting reconition, we are EXHAUSTED of all the unnecessary hate towards the boys and us. "I can't wait to join you guys." Honestly, I hope no one has given you the idea that you need to be a 'real' fan in order to be an ARMY. Once you support BTS in my opinion, you're an ARMY. Sure, some ARMY have been with them since 2013 and some, like me, joined them halfway in 2016. But we're all ARMY. I'm enjoying seeing you learn more about them, but I also caution you to protect yourself. ARMY interactions have changed over the years (esp after 2017 imo). I might get hate for this, but over the years I've decided to support bangtan mostly offline / away from social media. People can be toxic (in any fandom tbh) and because BTS is so big now, it's easy to get caught up in fights or arguments. I personally decided that supporting them mostly away from social media was best for me, and it allowed me to enjoy their releases more (because I wasn't focused on or pulled into petty arguments). Anyway, in my opinion if you support BTS, you're an ARMY, and that's all that matters! I enjoy seeing you learn more about them!
I feel you sis. Sometimes I did that too. Being an Army are truly hard, and there is a lot of fake army who pretend to be a part of real Army. Im not saying that I decided to far away from social media, but sometimes I choose to not open my social media like Twitter and IG. Same here. A fandom as big as BTS’s fandom, it’s hard not to witness toxic fans or solo stans. It’s the same for every other fandoms as well. I rarely engage in the comment sections.
No, if he starts watching only one of those videos, people will ask for more of this kind and many of this videos are cringy and not funny at all. The whole reaction will look fake, because he will have to laugh and look happy even if the video is very bad, because he will get attacked otherwise. It would be better if he watched interviews or Run epidodes or just keeps up with MVs/songs/performances/dance practices and some bangtan bombs because there are a lot of these and they are great.

Okay so I’m usually a silent watcher, but I feel like I really need to say this; Obviously, one can tell that you truly enjoy watching BTS in the way you talk about them and especially about RM. It is just so precious to see your admiration for him. What I also noticed is how you look at every detail and analyze everything. You take your time in appreciating their art but also them as human beings to the point that you even go back to certain parts in a video, which I really like. RM recently said that he loves ARMY more than the word 'LOVE' itself and felt it was unfair that they practised soo hard for their World Tour but couldn't perform it due to the pandemic..... All the ARMY's ik cried for a good one hour with me because of that. I love BTS but BTS will always love ARMY more and that's a fact. U should really listen to We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal from their new album. It's about ARMY and it's probably the most beautiful song ever.

I love how the members get inspiration and learn from each other. RM has said he got the idea for the "use me" speech from something Jin said in a bon voyage episode...that he uses other people to make himself happy, like when he goofs around it makes other people and himself feel good...RM took the idea even further and applied it to ARMY. BTS is just such a great team. Love them.

The official light sticks are called ARMYS BOMBS, and you do more than just hold them up in concerts. Bts crew have a central control station and according to everyone's seat number, those lights will change color, form words and even pictures in the crowd. There's a color pattern for every song they perform, and it looks absolutely amazing, sometimes the whole stadium is filled with rainbow colors. That's why, going to a bts concert is a once in a life-time experience

When they debuted, RM was called “too ugly” to be considered an idol and often wore sunglasses to “hide” it still makes me sad to this day 🥺 but now he’s learned to love himself just like we all have through BTS and their music 💜

I feel you so much on this one, and I think that's one of the reason why our fandom is so supportive and active, it's not just simple fan affection when you listen and like songs, no it's more with them and I don't know how they did that. All 7 are beautiful human beings and they are so genuine and honest and kind that we can feel that through our screen. Back in 2017, I knew and liked some of their song already (Boys in luv) as I listened to some kpop but never really looked into them until an army friend told me about them (you know when you speak about your favorite artist and become super existed and give lots of information in 2 minutes aha) So I was curious and watched some of their interviews, and that's when I fell in the rabbit hole, I knew that I would be watching every single bts video there is on TH-cam (I was not a youtube perso before ). I fell hard for who they were and it's still the case now. Yes their music is amazing, but who they are as people is what makes me be active, and stream and do things I will never do for any other artists that I listen to. I am thinking about who I was before looking into them, and how I ended to be who I am today, my love for them as grown so quickly that's insane. I actually cheered when you got them all right at the end 🤣. It breaks my heart to think about it, but I actually wasn't on board until Persona came out. I had heard Fake Love on US radio, stumbled across the DNA music video, and had heard the name Bangtan numerous times. My sister sent me a video interview of them explaining the meaning behind Boy with Luv and that's when I finally fell down the hole. Later on my sister and I set up to travel to Seoul and had to give in to the online scalpers, which thankfully worked out. It was terrifying to land in a country where I couldn't communicate that well. Despite that fear I got to meet Armys from around the world and experience BTS in person for the first time, it truly was one of the most beautiful moments of my 27 years! Sorry, this got so much longer than I intended. You nice keep going! (Hope you'll find this Jimin reference someday)
That speech was from their ending ment of their first stadium concert in the united states - Citi Field. It was a huge important day for BTS and ARMY. It was my first BTS concert and i genuinely sobbed during his speech because it was so powerful and emotional live and seeing clips from the day still make me teary. BTS best boys lmao

I just love them so much i dont regret stanning them as they literally saved my lofe back in 2014 as they stopped me from hurting myself badly as i was in a deep place but im glad i have them now i just hope they know hw much they mean to me and i hope to one day tell them all this

What I absolutely adore about RM is that he has grown so much as a person. If you search hard enough you can find some serious mistakes he’s done, but him learning from it and basically preaching against it now proves how much of a better person he’s become. Such an inspiration really.

a thing army says - we don't look for bts. bts comes into our lives when we need them the most. you'd be surprised how they make people less lonely. i'm 35, a single mom, successful career woman, yet was very sad... then i came across them and realized that i was sad cos i didn't love myself enough. at 33 (when i became an army), i knew i should love myself but they made me realize i only thought it... but i never did it. now i do. epiphany by bts did that to me. and a lot more of their songs and messages. i never supported any artist as much as i do bts and to think that i really love music and am exposed to a lot. as a matter of fact, my top genre was rock. bts is just different... rare.

I'm a bit older then you and I always say that they didn't find me when I needed them but they find me when I was ready to meet them, ready for a change, I was suicidal and so broken it's almost 3 years ago and I'm not fully there but I'm on my way and growing stronger every day. I’m going to be 60 in a month. I was going to the Rose Bowl concerts for my birthday! Taking my 16 year old granddaughter for her birthday. The concerts have been postponed for COVID 19. 😥 I hope they are rescheduled!

And then Bang pd decided to used it as RM's stage name in BTS. And RM approved it. Then at 2017 RM decided to change his stage name became just RM.

One thing that I wanted to kinda correct is when u said, “Everyone wants to rip u down when ur on top”. That’s is very true, but the sad thing for bts I think is that at that time they were nowhere near the top. Almost no one knew them, but all the people that did, besides their small amt of fans at the time hated on them. Even right BEFORE they made their debut when they had just released information abt the group’s concept. It was sad because they had to keep pushing with all they got despite all the people fighting against them
They had very little funds to support them, not even enough to eat properly. And while the top kpop companies constantly promote their groups everywhere, bts couldn’t do that.
They were wearing face designer clothes for performances and were receiving countless amounts of hate just because their concept was different than other kpop groups.

But now they have army by their side to support them:)

there is actually a whole profession in korea called “light stick DJs” and at kpop concerts it’s their job to change the colors and the flashes of the lightsticks according to the music. it’s really cool to watch videos of them so it. army’s lightsticks are called “army bombs” (each kpop group has their own name)

However, majority of kpop artists did not provide any sort of apology. RM did. In fact, BTS goes beyond to make sure not to offend any group of people. When they performed at the AMAs, their song lyrics had the word "naega" which is a korean word and means "I am". Since it could be misleading to the audience at the amas, they changed it to another word. He apologized multiple times. He's more open minded now cuz people do change. It's really a cultural thing.

I accidentally listened to one of their song, this one song touched me and i cried so much... I literally sobbing and repeating that song again and again... I'm very lucky. I'm a 50 year old English teacher and in one of my groups I found 2 ARMYs (like 15 - 16 yo) and when they found out I also like BTS they were so happy. They were a small group in 2013 who were hated on for merely wanting to talk about the suppression of youth and mental health which is frowned upon in korea. all 7 slept in one room, had to choose between paying for food or transportation, and were cut off of programs for the messages to help kids that were in their songs. Their own manager (now fired) hit them (which was caught on tape) and people shunned them from both the kpop and hiphop community for wanting to stay inbetween the 2 genres. So, now that BTS have fought through that and are NOW (6 yrs later) getting reconition, we are EXHAUSTED of all the unnecessary hate towards the boys and us. "I can't wait to join you guys." Honestly, I hope no one has given you the idea that you need to be a 'real' fan in order to be an ARMY. Once you support BTS in my opinion, you're an ARMY. Sure, some ARMY have been with them since 2013 and some, like me, joined them halfway in 2016. But we're all ARMY.
I'm enjoying seeing you learn more about them, but I also caution you to protect yourself. ARMY interactions have changed over the years (esp after 2017 imo). I might get hate for this, but over the years I've decided to support bangtan mostly offline / away from social media. People can be toxic (in any fandom tbh) and because BTS is so big now, it's easy to get caught up in fights or arguments. I personally decided that supporting them mostly away from social media was best for me, and it allowed me to enjoy their releases more (because I wasn't focused on or pulled into petty arguments).
Anyway, in my opinion if you support BTS, you're an ARMY, and that's all that matters! I enjoy seeing you learn more about them!

I often came here, on TH-cam, and of course Spotify and SoundCloud too .. just for enjoyed their work, their music. And also their performance and almost all of videos that relalted to them.
Same here. A fandom as big as BTS’s fandom, it’s hard not to witness toxic fans or solo stans. It’s the same for every other fandoms as well. I rarely engage in the comment sections.

No, if he starts watching only one of those videos, people will ask for more of this kind and many of this videos are cringy and not funny at all. The whole reaction will look fake, because he will have to laugh and look happy even if the video is very bad, because he will get attacked otherwise. It would be better if he watched interviews or Run epidodes or just keeps up with MVs/songs/performances/dance practices and some bangtan bombs because there are a lot of these and they are great.

RM has said he got the idea for the "use me" speech from something Jin said in a bon voyage episode...that he uses other people to make himself happy, like when he goofs around it makes other people and himself feel good...RM took the idea even further and applied it to ARMY. The official light sticks are called ARMYS BOMBS, and you do more than just hold them up in concerts. Bts crew have a central control station and according to everyone's seat number, those lights will change color, form words and even pictures in the crowd. There's a color pattern for every song they perform, and it looks absolutely amazing, sometimes the whole stadium is filled with rainbow colors. That's why, going to a bts concert is a once in a life-time experience

"I never have so much love for someone I know since 2 weeks"... I feel you so much on this one, and I think that's one of the reason why our fandom is so supportive and active, it's not just simple fan affection when you listen and like songs, no it's more with them and I don't know how they did that. All 7 are beautiful human beings and they are so genuine and honest and kind that we can feel that through our screen.
Back in 2017, I knew and liked some of their song already (Boys in luv) as I listened to some kpop but never really looked into them until an army friend told me about them (you know when you speak about your favorite artist and become super existed and give lots of information in 2 minutes aha) So I was curious and watched some of their interviews, and that's when I fell in the rabbit hole, I knew that I would be watching every single bts video there is on TH-cam (I was not a youtube perso before ).
I fell hard for who they were and it's still the case now. Yes their music is amazing, but who they are as people is what makes me be active, and stream and do things I will never do for any other artists that I listen to.
I am thinking about who I was before looking into them, and how I ended to be who I am today, my love for them as grown so quickly that's insane.
I'm an ARMY since 2017, some are here since the beginning, and some are here since today, I think you are already part of the family so welcome you are up for a wonderful journey💜

Taehyungie brought me to BTS cause of Hwarang warriors, fell in love with their songs then their personalities, never regret becoming army..
I actually cheered when you got them all right at the end 🤣. It breaks my heart to think about it, but I actually wasn't on board until Persona came out. I had heard Fake Love on US radio, stumbled across the DNA music video, and had heard the name Bangtan numerous times. My sister sent me a video interview of them explaining the meaning behind Boy with Luv and that's when I finally fell down the hole. Later on my sister and I set up to travel to Seoul and had to give in to the online scalpers, which thankfully worked out. It was terrifying to land in a country where I couldn't communicate that well. Despite that fear I got to meet Armys from around the world and experience BTS in person for the first time, it truly was one of the most beautiful moments of my 27 years! Sorry, this got so much longer than I intended. You nice keep going! (Hope you'll find this Jimin reference someday)
That speech was from their ending ment of their first stadium concert in the united states - Citi Field. It was a huge important day for BTS and ARMY. It was my first BTS concert and i genuinely sobbed during his speech because it was so powerful and emotional live and seeing clips from the day still make me teary. BTS best boys lmao
They have inspired me since 2014 and keep inspiring me as im just so proud of how far they have come since then and i have so much respect for them

What I absolutely adore about RM is that he has grown so much as a person. If you search hard enough you can find some serious mistakes he’s done, but him learning from it and basically preaching against it now proves how much of a better person he’s become. Such an inspiration really.
