If you’re using a PlayStation controller the lightbar lights up different colours when you pick up each gods boon, red for Hestia, pink for Aphrodite etc etc. it’s a nice touch but did make me think my controller was bugging out for ages first

The fact it has more content than all of hades 1 at completion actually has me wanting to hop into early access

There's dozens of hours of content in my experience, and I don't feel close to finishing everything at all. You will not run out unless you really burn through it, I highly recommend you give it a go.
Same yet i will restraint Still havent fully done hades 1. And want to do that first.
It's missing many things
the only reason to not play is if you're worried you'll be bored of the game by the full release. if that doesn't worry you, then what are you doing 😆
All the references Eris makes to the Rail’s appearance in the first game are so cool. Stopping to reload, the callbacks to the hammer upgrades, not to mention her using the main gimmick of her own aspect.

This is off topic but I got a spicy glitch for you all. There's an arcana card that activates 3-5 other arcana cards when you beat a guardian. If you have the reanimation boon from selene, and use it on the siren sisters, the arcana activates, indefinitely. So you can have runs with all arcana active which is normally impossible.
Whoa, that's like 2 million on the Scoville spicy.

@i3lia7mad basically everytime a reanimated siren sister dies the arcana gets activated until all of your inactive arcana get activated

Goddamn they REALLY went all out on the creativity with the regions this time around. Like, Hades 1 was decent with variety but THIS, this is next level.
Like, after the tech test I was kinda just expecting it to be fairly straightforward, cause Erebus is pretty similar to Tartarus (in the first game, not the version we see in this one) but I was IMMEDIATELY blown away upon seeing Oceanus, it's so cool to incorporate the boss mechanics and theming into the region itself with the music. Then even MORE so seeing fields of mourning cause it's just SO different from anything we saw in H1
I probably shouldn't spoil myself since I don't plan to play until 1.0 but I just can't help myself. It's SO good even just watching. I'll probably not keep up beyond the initial EA release content tho so I at least have some surprises when launch comes.
NO clue how they surpassed themselves THIS much, so exceptional they did incredible
@@jotaropokemonfan if anything I've learned from supergiant is that they have an ability to constantly out perform themselves. I've been here since bastion and they took a good concept and continue to make it better and better. I had full faith Hades 2 was gonna be better than Hades 1... What surprised me is how they managed to mix up the formula while still keeping the same feel.
Some balance things feel a bit weird in Hades 2 but I'm guessing this early access will address all of it before release
@@Nanoqtran If I remember correctly there was a lot of balance changes in the EA for Hades 1 as well so it makes sense we'll see a bunch here too. Tbh I think that's how EA SHOULD be done, add some new content (whatever needs to be finished) but mostly doing balancing and bug fixes.

As soon as we saw Scylla, I was HOPING to get to go against Charybdis!
Eris' final phase is actually so hype. She's on the knife's edge of death and she gets so fast and evasive, it is crazy how hard it is to pin her down for the last bit of damage. Very tense fight design. God SGG are good at their jobs.
Yeah I was super impressed that they did a whole surface thing, it's like two games jammed into one. So much content, and so many creative ways to mix up the standard formula, from the chooseable exits in oceanus to the surface stuff which is basically all different
I wanted to play and experience the full game myself before watching any videos, so now going back and watching people "discover" all of the content is so satisfying and fun.
The synergies between Hestia's and Demeter's boons in this run are really cool.
I can't help but think of those little buildings as outhouses.
I think when the full game comes out you’re going to get an item that can be used to make a weapon to kill chronos for good then have to fight to Olympus to get to gods so Hephaestus can forge it then a like extra phase in the chronos fight once you get the weapon for the true ending

If you get far enough through the ea (I’m 80 runs in) it shows you what the solution is to “killing chronos for good” (being vague on purpose to avoid spoilers)

That is like a great early access. They actually released (sem-) finished content and now they are just expanding on it. It´s like getting a dlc every few month with a new area to play in.

In H1, if you take Hazard Bomb on Eris rail, you can technically still get the damage buff if you dash out at the last moment. It looks like H2 Eris is getting a damage buff from being inside the special. I wonder if you can get the damage buff from H2 Eris' specials by dashing out? It would be a neat touch.

No Buffs in Hades II.... I took one and all it Did was Hurt Me...
On Top of that... It doesn't Hurt Eris Either.
I love a lot of the interactions in this game already. That Health drain the first time going topside was crazy.
Dude, this Eris fight is cursed.
The more you fight her, the more difficult it becomes. Like 1st kill was easy, 2 was close, 3 was hard, 4th I got 100 to 0 on the last 20% of health.
She has quadruple dmg at the last stage, and her dash is basicaly an instakill. You get hit by 3 pallets - 60-80 hp gone. Every regular hit - 20 hp and she rapid fire those.
The more tactical you play the more she punishes you. Fighting her with slow weapon (like a torches) is pure nightmare. You just can't dps her fast enaugh.
this doesn't seem true to me? also I have beaten her with axe twice which is a slow weapon
She's tricky but not impossible, I'm maining the axe which is the slowest weapon and have beaten her just fine. I'd recommend slowing her down with Freeze, or just blasting her with status effects like Blitz and Scorch, Weak could also work.
P.S I hate the torches more than any weapon from both H1 and H2 and I don't see myself using any of its available aspects so far, at least to me, they feel terrible.
@@axllow3914 the torch aspect that blows that spirits up with special actually feels good to play. Other than that, I agree. it takes waaaay to long to start channeling attack.

@@jaydiism I think a pretty good rework would be if special would stagger enemies and you cant attack but you can only omega attack so there wouldn't be any wind up but it would also drain your magick faster.
32:15 The hitbox of the attack that mysteriously hits you has almost no visual component to it, it's insane. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Hephaestus attack on a 3 second CD CARRIED me through my second clear. That and armor melt dash attack hammer cleared rooms so fast.

There are 2 areas available right now on the surface, with the next one coming in a few months and maybe one after that!
3 “bosses”
Surface mode actually feels easier. The first zone lets you pick and choose from a selectionof rewards which makes making a build more consistent

We've seen both Scylla and Charybdis now. Hopefully we'll see Typhoeus seeing as its lore has it attacking Olympus.
My jaw DROPPED when you defeated Eris FIRST RUN. Ain’t no way. If anyone could it’s you dude
There's a duo boon for Hestia that causes whenever you dash to apply charges of burning to nearby enemies, pair it with the dual blades and the time slowing arcana and you can infinitely stack burn by repeatedly dashing while holding omega attack and not releasing it.
Got Scylla and the Sirens up to about 6000 burn and just dodged attack the rest of the fight to see them literally already be dead and not know it yet. The only issue with Hestia is that burn takes a LONG time to actually deal its damage. It of course, is fixed if you get her Legendary which doubles the speed in which enemies burn.
So high rarity Hestia boons are some of the best in the game in that you could just burn enemies to death in slowed time and walk away completely unscathed.
I have a feeling the time slow arcana's going to have some changes before full release, so enjoy being able to slow time infinitely for now; Chronos surely hates it.
That final boss fight was clutch, well done. I beat her on my second surface run but didn't have to fight the sea monster mini-boss.
It seems like Hae figured it out but yeah, generally anything that affects a button affects the Omega version as well. Even though the staff Special starts really weak, you can put some CHUNKY builds together that basically turn it into a Bow playstyle. Also means you could get PS off of a single move by having one status effect on the button and another on it's Omega version. This game is absolutely insane.
It would be cool if the infusions got like a pom up when you have more of the element than it needs to activate.

I think Charybdis was bugged when I fought it. The red orbs were exploding and dissipating completely before they even got across the water.

The true threat about the cyclops fight is the sheep when it decided to choose violence 😂. I got a run when the sheep suddenly became super aggressive and started chasing and attacking me. It instantly stun when you pass it sight and constantly bites you for like 5-6 hp per hit and after like 1s stun it will deal around 20-30hp.
Hi Hae! New Viewer here! You should try the Pan Daggers when you unlock it to run a special build! It goes Crazy. You can Start with Apolo or Hephaestus it does really well! Two hit Cerberus with that.
for haephestus atk i got it down to 3 seconds and the spcl i got to 6 seconds. almost had all haeph boons other than aphro mana regen and periferal demeter boonson the cast and sprint. got me to chronos on night 18

about the hephaestus attack boon, it has an upgrade limit, so a heroic, max leveled attack boon has a 2 second recharge time, not sure about the special one though

"Something like Hestia's dash would be good here" Yes, I got this miniboss with this dash by accident (I didn't plan on it) and I just sprinted into the balls, they didn't even split up, they just disappeared.
Shades of *Divine Dash* in Hades 1.... It was so Good they Nerfed the living Crap out of it.... Which is funny because it's Still the Best Dash.
@@lookalike4805 I disagree that Hestia's dash ia nerfed version. Dash had a recovery period (and still does) but with Hestia's sprint you can absorb ranged attacks without limits.
It would be much harder to absorb all of that miniboss' ranged attacks with Athena's dash for example. Still possible because it's slow but much harder.

The Eris system for early runs might be annoying, but it sure does make you feel great when you finally get to kick her ass.
Well I tried real quick to get to the surface (I didn't got to kill the Sirens After 16 runs) Hekate killed first time at run Nr 6. So i wanted to try something different

I have to say, I am kinda disappointed if this is Artemis. I mean, imagine as a player using the bow and all of Artemis' boons at once, heroic tier. And that's not even getting into what she does when rejected and would have at her disposal here. That sounds more like what Artemis would have to work with, not an arrow every few seconds and the occasional Mark.

To be fair, the EA message says they´ll "try their best" (or something like that) to make the saves work. But something can always go wrong.
