    I struggled and I still am struggling with this crazy yet interesting language German. And here are my *5 best, quickest and self-experienced rules* to learn German quickly and well. It will take time, believe me but, it will be worth the investment! ☺

    For people from india whose mother tongue is a language like Marathi or Hindi, German grammar is comparatively easier to grasp.

    I mostly agree with you - except one point: You seem to think it is hard to learn another language being twenty or older. What should I say? I am a 60+ years old German living in Switzerland being teached French by an English speaking teacher....

      wora1111 that's really commendable. But, I guess it really is difficult to learn a new language but, of course not impossible. 😊

    Enjoyed the video, your enthusiasm and the tips. No. 6: Do not use a dictionary while talking. Instead of looking words up, communicate their meaning. I found that those of my students, who not use dictionaries during lessons, pick up faster than those, who look the words up (and then forget them again).

    In 5yrs how much one can learn German?

  • @TremereTT
    @TremereTT 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You don't need to learn German. But people will think of you as beeing dumb if you don't. We just work that way. Ya we would think of you as beeing dumb even if you are an engineer or a physician...
    A Sinhalese friend imported her husband from Sri lanka. And he learned enough German to have conversations in about 3 months. He was fluent in about a year. All done in an "integration course".
    So it can't be too hard.
    On the other hand he also spoke Sinhalese(Fathertounge) , Urdu(Motherounge), Hindi, Tamil, Arabic, English...before he learned German..

  • @ThomasKossatz
    @ThomasKossatz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    High, HappyHoot, may I add 1 item to your list and 1 letter to your alphabet? T = Trust the Germans. They will not laugh, if you make a mistake. Like Douglas Adams said: "Don't Panic!" They will help you where they can. Don't be afraid to ask them to slow down a bit so you can understand them. If YOU talk to me in basic German, it is YOU who walks the extra mile. I don't speak Hindi. Of course 3 out of 4 Germans speak some or good English. But it it should always be a fallback option.
    Now, here is my question: If your channel reaches 5000 followers, will you offer us a German Video? ;)

    It is not good to know german - it is mandatory that every one coming to Germany for studying or working has good or best german skills to become accepted and faster integrated. Otherwise you will end up in a ghetto for other foreigners cause which landlord will offer you an appartement of 30qm representing a value of 120.000 - 200.000€ depending on city?
    You simply won't get am appartement cause german landlords use german + german contracts.
    Finally: German has strong, different dialects totally hard to understand unless you had grown up there. Many landlords are older, speaking dialect + hochdeutsch perfect, but are not interested in speaking english. Dame for jobs. And don't start speaking english if you meet others from your home.
    All the refuggees were not prepared, so be prepared or go to the english speaking countries. Times are not getting better here, even far more harder cause we got a pretty high pressure on appartement market.
    If you want to rent a pretty good appartement you should be the best German speaking applicant. People from western countries will be welcomed - in any other cases it will not be easy for you. Germans avoid to give their appartements to foreigners cause the renter is protected by law. So the landlord must trust you from second 1 - but he won't if you start speaking english and if you are not from a G8 or EU country incl. Australia, New Zealand or South Africa. And non white skin doesn't make it easier for you - even as a woman. These are the facts I could observe among the house owners age 45 - 80 years from cities or even tiny villages. It's their risk to rent an object to foreigners and, they have their reasons + experience, so do not blame them.
    Just look somewhere else where your convenient tour by not having best german skills and hoping for speaking english

    Hallo, liebe Nikita,
    Deine Hintergrundmusik ist nicht nur sehr nervig, sondern auch total störend, so daß man sich sehr konzentrieren muß, um Dich zu verstehen, was die Freude an diesem Beitrag enorm trübt und mich verleitet hat, Dir diesmal einen Minuspunkt zu geben, obwohl ich sonst von Deinen Beiträgen immer sehr angetan bin.
    Übrigens, wenn Du meinst wir hätten 10 unterschiedliche Wörter, für die gleich Bedeutung, so täuscht Du Dich, denn diese Wörter bezeichnen meistens, die unterschiedlichen Nuancen, bzw. Schattierungen einer Grundbedeutung, für die es im Englischen oft nur ein Wort gibt, weshalb ich die englische Sprache teilweise als primitive Kindersprache empfinden.
    Auch habe ich die Beobachtung gemacht, daß die meisten Englischsprecher nur einen sehr eingeschränkten Grundwortschatz verwenden und viele unterschiedliche Dinge mit den gleichen Wörtern bezeichnen, obwohl es dafür auch im Englischen andere Wörter gäbe.
    Zum Beispiel bezeichnen viele Englischsprecher alle möglichen runden Körper als Ball, obwohl es sich oft um Kugeln handel und es im Englischen dafür auch die Bezeichnungen "rump, bowl, oder bullet" gäbe.
    Auch wird das Wort "Spere" im Englischen für Kugel mißbraucht, obwohl dieses Wort in Wirklichkeit eine Hohlkugel, oder besser Kugelschale bezeichnet, wie das Wort "Atmos-Sphäre" ja schon zeigt, welches die Kugelschale der Luft um die Erde bezeichnet!
