Not for the faint of heart! That would do me in. I am, however, going to paint my shed this year :)

I didn't know there were so many cold hardy succulents. I thought they were sold as houseplants because most couldn't survive outdoors. You may have just solved a mystery for me. I have this little unknown plant in my back yard barely hanging on under the shelter of a daylily. It might be Sedum spathulifolium, hardy to US zone 6, where I'm in 5b. Strange things have been known to be happen under the daylilies. I've had self-seeded violas bloom in and around them when it's nearly 100 degrees F for weeks. Thank you.

It is not well known that quite a number of succulents are in fact alpines growing above the tree line in many places. Particularly Sempervivums that grow in the Alps, The Atlas Mountains the Pyrenees and the mountains of the Caucuses. Regards Stephen

Amazing! I love living roofs. Each one I have seen is unique and fits it’s surroundings beautiful, just as yours. My shed has a barn shape roof. I think that would work. Hmmmm. Must go do some research. Thanks guys for another informative and entertaining video. 🌿🌻

Thank you!! I agree the shed needs to look good. I keep putting my husband off from purchasing a hardware store shed. Yuk. I will have to share this with him. Also, we are building a large bug house with a roof and this tapestry would look great on it. Thanks again for the clever ideas. Cheers!

I have an ancient shed that looks a mess but is very solid and in good condition. A bit of paint does wonders for renovating a shed.
I must admit I'm rather taken with that green. I was put off green for a while after everyone in the UK painted their fences that horrible dark green yuck colour. But that bright soft green is lovely.
I recall as a child that very few outdoor paints were available. Dark green, dark red and I think that was it. Nowadays there's a whole rainbow!

Lovely, now I know what to do with the old dog house 😂.. I have done this using an old wooden pallet, the challenge is holding the soil on an angle for sure. The roof is beautiful! Thankyou!

It looks like you have a sort of blue chalk sticks plant up there but it is spreading instead of standy uppy (same exact aspect, same flowers, but mine is over 24 cm tall). I would love to have that short, stubby, spreading version, can you please tell me what that is??? Thank you, Stephen, I really appreciate your knowledge, and learning so much form you!

    Beautiful.
Does it still require regular watering now that the plants are established? I would love to have a green roof on my shed but we have at least 5-6 months of very hot dry summer. I'm so inspired by this, I guess it is time for me to run down the rabbit hole of diy small scale green roof options.
