Fun fact, Lorraine was actually added because a female reviewer said the show didn’t have enough mob violence and that’s why Johnny says the line “whack this one, whack that one, never enough body count for Lorraine, fuck her let her taste her own medicine” because they wanted to clown on her
Some people have characterized Tony B as the villain of this series. He's not a villain at all. A villain opposes the protagonist. Tony B does not oppose Tony, or plan to take him down. He disobeys Tony. not the same thing.
Carmine wanted Joey Peeps dead because Johnny sack did have Lorraine killed (when she ran naked thru the house) Lorraine was loyal to carmine so this was retaliation. The line “But kill a woman? Come on, huh?” That was meant to mean, how could Johnny actually sanction a hit on a woman.
Michael Imperioli (Christopher) wrote this episode and it’s one of my favorites because it gave off Season 1 vibes and is the turning point for the season.
Hugh is such a likeable character. Hard working no bullshit kind of guy. Tony not giving Carmella enough money is probably the reason he was on the roof in the first place. This episode had a real mellow feeling aside from Tony B's scenes. He's filled with jealousy and resentment. You can tell there's something brooding.
Phil’s kid brother Billy is the one who shot and killed Lorraine. Joe Peeps was there though. Rusty and Angelo knew how close Joe peeps was to Johnny so that’s why they took out Joe peeps.
This is easily one of my top 10 favorite episodes because it really puts the main conflict into full swing plus my top 5-6 favorite episodes in the whole series are after this episode (not including this one)
Fun fact (that I have trouble believing lol)... David Chase has sworn on multiple occasions that they never outright did product placement in the show. Right when the show gained traction and plenty of companies were knocking their door down, he still swears that they never directly placed a brand in frame or uttered a brand name for any other reason than "it was already in the script". It gets more noticable come these later seasons with all the attention they got but even prior to this... All the mentions of Coca-Cola, their subsidiaries, or other brands always made me wonder. But he still maintains that it was just to make the Sopranos universe a more believable space. I appreciate using real name brands for a tv show. If you don't then I personally think you have to go the Rockstar Games route and create an entire world of parody brand names
When they were talking to Tony B about the killing, they said “a friend of a friend, not a friend of ours”…. That meant he wouldn’t be killing a made man. So technically there’s less risk for him and it’s just business.
If they say “not a friend of ours” they mean that person isn’t made in either family. They couldn’t go after Phil directly because you need permission but they could go after the other guy
With the way Tony treats Angela, and he still wonders why Carmella is up his ass about knowing where and how much money they have if something were to happen to him. The goodwill of his crew and whoever would step up would only go so far before they just consider her an annoyance.
A friend of ours = a made guy
A friend of a friend = a guy who's not made. Just an associate.
Same thing that applies to “this thing of ours” is La Costa nostra the mob
Probably my favorite episode of all time. Hugh's birthday party is just like every party I remember for my big extended family growing up.
*twirls hot links*
"SAUSEEGE FOR YOU"
I’m Greek and this is facts 😂

Yeah I see him more as a wild card.

Ik people say this all the time, but I think this episode is the start of some of the best Sopranos has to offer.

This is one of my all time favorite episodes. The party, the car repairs, the hit at the end. All perfect for me. Love Tony and Carm in the pool.
This epsiode is very underrated. It’s so immersive, and the BbQ feels so real.
Next week is a top 10 episode in my opinion.
“but the federal government says I can’t leave the house and my family keeps me sedated”
Frankie Valli played Rusty... If you've ever watched the movie musical Grease you'd recognize his voice from the opening song.

Supporting all the way from South Africa 🎉

take a shot everytime the guy in the middle says 'that's crazy'.
Pins? From the 96 Olympics in Atlanta it looks like 🤷
They wanted revenge for Lorraine's death that's what they were talking about. Hence Joey Peeps. Family name is Pepperelli!!😂
Abe goes to a Karaoke bar and now he thinks he is Michael Bublé. 😁🎤
Season 5 episode with season 1 vibes.
Tony is not an asshole, he's a sociopath
Another TONY TUESDAYYYYYYY
“Thank god for the bush” - Charlie 2024
😅😅😅
Random coincidence...Abe your Atlanta 96 Olympics sweatshirt & Tony Bs twins "stealing" AJs Atlanta 96 pin collection. I like the sweatshirt BTW 👍
I’m just here for the ziti.
Oh yea man you won't find a bigger fan of The Sopranos than Vince Gilligan.
Peeps didn't kill Lorraine. He's being whacked as a tit-for-tat for Lorraine.
Where'd you get that Atlanta crewneck? Looks nice as hell.
Carms dad is the goat
The next episode will have a scene which will have all of you taken aback in shock... that's all I'll say.
I was BLOWN away by the reveal
Carmine’s dead, Tony, back in shorts
'Charlie Hustle" is an old phrase, it has nothing to do with The Sopranos
Happy B
Phil's a giant asshole but he's hilarious.
Supposedly killed the witness?
