This album changed my life. I went from a dumb wanna be thug to really being myself. In the process I realized I love this sound of electronic music called Trance, Thanks for uploading this. Cant believe its been 17 years since.
2019 here, remind you to listen to this mix again. The first tune immediately transport me back ! Now i'm equipped with top of the line headphone, amps and DAC decoder; time to enjoy this masterpiece again!
Old school shuts all that whatever down this is real mixology George Acosta is and always be number 1 any one disagree you just don't know beautiful music
A live time ago, full with memories. Some painful, others irreplaceable and life changing. A time when I met very unique people who became friends for life and some like family eventhough we live thousands of miles away. Best times of my live. No regrets and if I had a time machine I'd go back and do it all over again....
Shadow was one of the best clubs around while he was resident there, my friends and I went there religiously to see him. It was small, loud and the atmosphere was awesome!
Yeah man, me too. I remember smoke coming out of the DJ booth and him spinning. Shadow lounge till 5am and then the Mix after hours till sun-up. Good memories.
Brings back 2 night clubs, in particular! In St. Louis, Mo. ,In the late 90's! The Velvet! And the Cheetah! What memories! Then after 3: a.m., go over to East St. Louis , Illinois and hit the Oz night club! Til the sun comes up in the morning! Took many Mitsubishi's, ( double stack ) rolling my brains out! Pocket full of Molecules! Driving the lady's crazy! Those were absolutely , hats off ! Best times of my younger years! Thank You! George Acosta! Always had your jams, in my C.D. albums!
I went to the Shadow Lounge's closing party back in 2001. I was 19 and fresh out of high school. I moved from Cali, Colombia to Miami and was having a blast before going to college. I cant believe it's been 13 years since. I still listen to Trance (classic/old school, not this new EDM garbage) and every time I do it feels like I'm going back in time to a better place. I truly believe there will never be anything again as magical as Trance. There might be other types of great music, but the whole Trance movement is something that will never be replicated.
NO WAY bro, I was there. I was 18-19 and I use to party there and the Mix afterhours. Crazy how fun those clubs were and Acosta spinning. I loved dressing up in all black to go sweat your nuts off. So much fun. We might have crossed paths.
You can also thank Orbital Robert Miles etc... As they were the early pioneers of what we call Trance. Back then, it was called "Dream Music"..... I remember when this came out. I listened to it every Saturday night as I detailed my car in Vero. Man o man how time flies........ My 2 cents. Bryan
System777 I like some of the new trance, but I hate how commercialization has really reduced its quality nowadays. I've started to get into classic trance recently. Man, is that stuff beautiful... I don't mind all the technological synths and kicks nowadays, but it sucks now that the emotion has felt almost replaced.
This is and has been my all-time favorite cd since the turn of the century. I recall locking myself in the dedicated "e-room" in my house which had glow in dark posters, glow sticks on the over head fan and oversized bean bag chair. Id pop an e-pill on become one with the music. What would seem like 10 minutes time and the cd was over. Love it!
Shadow lounge back in 99' ....brings back SO many memories. I remember going to Shadow then head to the after hours spot -- The Mix? I feel like that was it. Sunglasses, water, dancing, more water, OJ as a pick-me-upper. Thank you for sharing!
George Acosta is the first trance artist I listened to, thanks to my adult son. He told me to expand my musical horizons. ( I was lost in the 60s) I have since expanded more into the trance/house/electronic music and I love it.
My mom has this whole CD and I forgot about it till 3 months ago! 😭So many great memories!! I love this CD thanks mom for giving me this disc from heaven! ❤💛💚💙💜💔
I loved this album. I’m sort of pissed at myself because I included the CD in a care package for a soldier, but I think I may have forgotten to rip it first. Then years later when I want to listen to it I can’t find it anywhere. Thanks for this. I hope this helped some soldiers get pumped up overseas.
From 96-99 we patrolled the Caribbean for 8 weeks at a time. When most of my deck department introduced me GA. Started w MOX; and later found this; still my favorite all time. Ybor City imports, and 1 trip Shadow Lounge. Ok. Now I’ll stop. Just had to piggy back the military shout out.
This was the theme music in our 1 1/2 hour limo ride from the church to the reception hall on my wedding day May 26, 2000.... 22 people in a stretch hummer fully equipped with laser lights, smoke machine, strobes and Sony Play Station, not to mention a full stocked top shelf bar. Needless to say, we were destroyed when we got to the reception. It was one helluva ride!!!
Worst part of that was the wedding lol JK sounds like an amazing time I don't know how you survived, actually I was there partying back in those days and we survived too. Best times of my life
So glad I found this here. I must have had 4 copies of this back in the day because they would break or get stolen. This is his best work. This was my soundtrack of my life back in the day. Acosta, Oakenfold and Diesel boy. We will never have this again. The times have changed and music has adapted itself to whatever it is now. We all know this was the truth. Kids now will never know what it truly meant. Gouryella!!
This album helped through a dark and scarey time of my life . I listened to it in the bus everyday, at the gym everyday , in my kitchen everyday. 2002 . I had never heard music like this back then I was always a classic rock heavy metal girl …until one young guy at my work introduced me to Angel Falls…. And the rest was history , now I can even play it on the piano . Very moving Melodie’s that create and atmosphere of liberty and conquest . Thank you George and thank you Liam .
Best Trance ever! GA has not been able to capture this same magic since this album. The mixes are perfect and it's hard to tell when a new track has started which shows GA skill in mixing. If you don't own this album than go buy it right now.
This was it for me. 1st trance CD I bought. GA-Awake. Seamless mix. Perfect track selections. THE PERFECT Trance CD. Ughhh..Angel Falls and R2D2 just awesome. Euphoric. Cant find good trance like this anymore.
This was the very first trance album I bought back in 2001, and I still can't get tired of listening to this album! One of the best albums in my trance collection!
I got the chance to see him play live at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. Best night and dope set. I will never forget. This set is epic. Changed my life and opened my mind to trance. I never looked back. Great track selection. Much love and respect for George Acosta. If he could only see this feed and see all the love.
I was there in Ft. Lauderdale in the middle of it all. What I wouldn't give to do it all over again. Acosta and special K made me see things you people wouldn't believe.
This is by far my favorite techno/trance album ever. Anyone who also loved this, remember some other epic albums from that time? Looking to refind some old favs. :) Mahalo from Maui!
And instantly i'm 17 again and cruising with my three 15" Pheonix Gold subs in the back with 1200watts looking out for cops while blasting L'esperanza. Im dragging my huge ego to the DB Drag to go add some more hearing loss. God I wish I could go back and just to tell myself one small statement... Just don't bro, just don't. Enjoy the music, but the person across from you at the light doesn't need to hear it as well....
will like to thank greatly for sharing such of great album.. had the pleasure to see play George Acosta at Shadow lounge Miami Beach soo many times.. so proud we had a great DJ of our own in Miami.. it brings lots of great memories, friends and places... once again 2 thumbs up for ya.....
So much trace that doesn't resonate with me but George Acosta Awake mix really differs from the rest. Classic mix and thank you for the upload so I could hear it again!
Ted Dobol man I was at all them clubs as well. The chili pepper and the mix was my home away from home. And I’m sure we crossed paths there at one point
The sun came up and we went to the beach parties and continued the madness late 1998 /early 1999. Edgar V and David Padilla would DJ for us on the sand at Penrods on 1st street then it moved to 17th street
Awake, Euphoria vol. 1, and the track "Flaming June" by BT converted me to trance back in the day. I love many styles of electronic music but epic/progressive trance will always have a special place to me😃
This album changed my life. I went from a dumb wanna be thug to really being myself. In the process I realized I love this sound of electronic music called Trance, Thanks for uploading this. Cant believe its been 17 years since.
John Doe
Same 2 cd’s were the first ever given to me!

Will listen to Awake till I reach the death bed . beautifully dirty south would love to see George Acosta live
Thank God for TH-cam and the uploader; not even iTunes or Spotify has this CD.
It’s so frustrating! I can’t find where I saved the album and I gave away the disc. I hope this stays on TH-cam.
I wouldn’t be a dj if it wasn’t for this album and seeing him in the club around this time. Timeless.

Living in Miami, I was spoiled by being able to see him at his residency Shadow Lounge. His track selections are timeless!

Interesting,
I never looked at it that way. But I am now partial to Epic Trance. But your still right nonetheless..

Best Album besides trance port by Oakenfold. neck and neck

Shadow Lounge Miami
Baby! 1999-2000. Gives me goosebumps!
My introduction to GA was in 99. My Shadow Lounge visit was also 99. Yessir
Those were the days, shadow lounge, the mix, chilli pepper, space. Blow up till the sun up.
