In case anybody is curious, having done some reading around it would appear that the PS3 HDMI output is protected, and the only real way to get around that to capture footage using the Elgato is to use RCA output instead, so sacrificing a bit of quality. Next time I want to do some PS3 gameplay I will try this as I do have a RCA to HDMI upscaler which you would also need.
Enjoyed this mate whilst eating my tea. Some lovely upgrades for your set. I still wouldn't mind getting that Carmageddon 64 variant. When I start doing my games room up I think I'm going to go the Billy Bookcase route for the N64 full set, keep it all nice and compact and displayable, but with the addition of the doors for the security. Never know when my kids might decide to try and have a look haha! Cool PS3 acquisitions. I was an Xbox 360 guy too. Then had both Xbox One and PS4. Now just got a PS5. Love playing video games with my son, hopefully when my daughter is old enough she will want to play with us too. My son and I have a fantastic time, he's even been enjoying Super Mario 64! Obviously that makes me super proud! So I'll look forward to hearing your adventures with your son in the coming years, it really is great. Those Essentials look awesome lined up! Cheers mate 🍻
Thanks mate, appreciate that. Glad you enjoyed the content. Yeah you’ll have to pick one up at some point, surprised you haven’t got one already! Look forward to seeing your room when you get to it. Billie is probably the safest bet isn’t it. Agree about keeping the kids out. That’s why I have the child lock at the top… 😅 Great to hear about you and your son gaming and hope I can have similar experiences in the not too distant future. Nice that your son has played Mario 64! Agree about the Essentials. Still some more to come so I guess you’ll see a few more on the channel and on the shelf when I pull my finger out and put the shelves up. Thanks for stopping by and commenting again mate! Cheers. 🍻
@@gullpayne totally agree. It’s difficult as my collection is mainly 64 and I am incredibly fussy it’s very difficult to find nice stuff in the wild for that. But picking up PS3 games etc where it’s no difficult to find good condition upwards as much, yeah in the wild for sure. 👌🏻
Have you seen the ps3 blowout trick , to self clean 😊 , so to turbo the fan , to blow the dust out , if any 👍 saves opening it up if yours isn’t too bad

Great pickups - I prefer to have a look in the wild it’s far more exciting
