It began with the forging of the great films. Threads were given by Tolkien, immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Rights were granted to Jackson, great miner and craftsman of the mountain of lore. And nine, nine hours were gifted to the race of men, who above all else, desire quality. But they were all of them deceived, for another show was made. In the land of Amazon, in the fires of Mount Prime, the Dark Lord Bezos forged in secret a master flop. And into this show he poured his money, his greed and his will to dominate all film. One show to ruin them all.

A couple of Tolkien lore channels I used to follow have started shilling for RoP.
They praise the show whenever it gives a vague (or sometimes unspoken) nod toward actual lore, but gloss over all the blatant mistakes and rewrites.
One of them even picked up an Audible sponsorship, promoting it at the start of their glowing RoP review, and getting annihilated for it in the comments.
Really sad since I used to love their videos, but I guess the money was enough for them to betray their own work.

I made it 17 minutes into episode 1 of WOT before turning it off in disgust (when Rand and Egwene started sucking each others faces off, in the book they never had a sexual relationship, they were just promised to each other when they came of age, since they were fucking _teeneagers_ at that point), and about two minutes later I canceled my Amazon Prime. Wheel of Time is my favorite book series in the world, I've read the entire series front to back about two dozen times, and I was under the impression I was going to love the show, because I had wanted to see a live version of the show ever since I started reading the first book 25 years ago, but now I truly wish Amazon had never heard of it, they butchered WOT just like they butchered ROP. I want the characters to exist as they were in my mind forever. Ive read all of the Jordan books no less than 8 times. All the covers are falling off them.
When I heard Amazon was making a WoT series, I felt like someone had announced they were going to deface Jordan's grave. I'm glad I never even saw a second of the series. The image I have in my mind of Rand, Matt, and Perrin will remain as they are, based on the cover art from the books.

Many fans even say Sanderson revived the series, and I'm of the same impression (I love Sanderson's books as much as WOT). Honestly, you'll find it hard to see any changes in the style from old to new, Brandon Sanderson was truly the best person to take up the reigns, and between Harriet's conversations with Robert before his death and the plethora of notes he made there was a lot to go off of, the story was still true to Jordan's vision. You know, I would have expected the marketing department and people running the social media side of promotion to be more competent, to actually include in the contract for these people to appear as superfans that they would have to produce sponsored content for at least a little while when the show released. Then again, maybe they assumed like I would that these "super fans" wouldn't risk their own audiences discovering that they are paid shills forever destroying any trust the audience could have in them.

ROP is as amateurish as scammers as they are in producing a TV show. I can understand them wanting to distance themselves after the Superfans fiasco but you'd think ROP would have told them to at least put out something about the show to maintain the illusion. The only praise I see for the show comes from suspicious accounts with little content or those types who have deluded themselves into liking something unpopular because they think that makes them intelligent and edgy.

The people running the show aren't interested in succeeding, they are interested in pushing the ideology. They fired the Tolkien expert they hired. And I believe he was only hired because Christopher wouldn't have allowed them use of the franchise without him.
How do I know they don't care about succeeding, they spend upwards of 2 billion dollars for a TV show, and placed no name never was beens in charge of the production. If success was a goal, they'd have continued to overspend and secured actual talent, and THEN worked to avoid having 3 dozen executive producers....
