    Hi Dr khaled
    For burning LPG (30% C3H8 and 70% C4H10) in fluent using species transport as premixed flame how we can do it?

      Se in the timeline 4:13 (boundary condition of fuel) you need to put the fraction (mole or mass) as 0.3 and 0.7 ... This ratio is volume right? so you chose mole fraction.

      Thanks dr Khaled for replying..but for using species transport there is on propane mixture not mixture of propane and butane to put mass ie mole fraction as you do

    Sir, this tutorial on premixed combustion is very helpful. I have a query if you could reply :
    you added the fuel specie as butane and propane that was already available in therrmo.db file. However, If we need to use the fuel specie like C31H48 that is not available in thermo.db of ANSYS Fluent then How will we add this to existing thermo.db file (to amend this file).
    Thanks.

      You can go to materials and chose fuel that has the closest properties to your new fuel. You copy this new fuel from the library and change its name and chemical formula to the new fuel. You can also change the physical properties if needed. After that you need to write (manually) new reactions formulas in the species transport setting. It could be single stage or multi-stage reactions (all stoichiometric balance) and last stage of reaction will end up with CO2 and H2O. In the boundary condition of the fuel you need to put the balance (mole or mass) under species window for the exhaust gas.

    How do we simulate if biomass wood is used instead of propane n it gives gives char, tar and gases. Tar further reacts to give gases. This is to be done in fluidized bed with nitrogen inlet.

    Hello Khaled,
    Would species transport work to model one step global combustion?
    Thanks.

    • @khaledAlattab
      @khaledAlattab  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello there....I think the default is the one step reaction, but If you have CO so the two-step reaction will be computed....You have to also calculate the global reaction externally and key-in manually the exhaust gas fraction (in boundary conditions) so it will do the reaction based on your input.
      However, you can use external program package such as Chimkin to calculate the reaction and couple it with this model

    Hello, how do I enter heat flux values to a cylinder

    • @khaledAlattab
      @khaledAlattab  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can assign how much heat loses you have by going to the wall boundary condition (thermal) and either chose wall temperature or input the heat flux (W/m2) negative value. This value you have to calculate manually through the estimated heat loses from your chamber (W) then divide by your outer wall surface area (m2)

    Why u put the fuel pressure 2 bar?
    Thanks

    • @khaledAlattab
      @khaledAlattab  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello dear ....It depends on your LPG tank pressure .....Domestic tanks usually are 1.5-1.6 bar ...large tanks can be about 2 bar ...You have to choose based on your use case.

    Hello ,
    I am modelling the combustion reaction of CO gas with Oxygen, using the species transport model. It is a non-premixed type combustion, where the fuel gas ( CO) enters the reactor at 1700K and oxygen enters through a jet at 300K . Oxygen and fuel CO burn to make CO2 gas in the reactor.
    My problem is that :
    The product gas CO2 is being made but there is no rise in the temperature.
    I have defined my own mixture template, and not using the predefined ones.
    I have defined the reaction according to it's stoichiometry and kinetics.
    The Cp is set to constant 1000, ( as seen by me in one video of non-premixed combustion of CH4 gas )
    The maximum temperature stays to 1700K, which is indeed the inlet fuel temperature ( fuel = CO ).
